There is no way to achieve higher FSB in this ABIT board…Multiplier 13.5 and 14 do not work…over 220 FSB… I can of course run 250MHz low multiplier(under 10)…but no use...

@SAE
I got that chip a few weeks ago and tried to test it with every possible “cooling means” I got.....
I found the following results:
2550-2600 MHz Air cool
2650-2700 MHz H20
3100-3150 MHz (modified prometiea)
3200-3300 MHZ Dry Ice
3400-3500 MHz LN2
By the way You are absolutely right about 24/7 :)
BUT:
First was testing then arose knowledge…
The best way to find out if it is problematical or not to use LN2 is to test it. I recommend you to try LN2 and tell us later what you finding…. :) :toast:
If you like the results of Dry Ice and Prometiea look at this page...
http://forum.sweclockers.com/showthread.php?threadid=277902&highlight=umekami10
Nice results anyway as I already said :D
What are your 24/7 settings and cooling (prom I assume?!)?
It's a shame this board cannot supply you with higher fsb... :(
(did you already try tictacs latest bioses, L12 mod etc?)

Memory is running at 2-2-2-5-11-16, if I put it like 2-2-2-5-7-16, it wont run above 240 mhz
This is slow, I think that is just the new stepping, it goes higher, but performance is poor. LDT is 2X and tREF is 2x3120, I dont know about tREF, which one is fastest of those many options:confused:

I just tested PiFast a little for the first time, I have only tested with SuperPI before. I like it. :)
Tested with "low" CPU speed, I'll see if I can get any higher later. Will see if I can get sub-50s. :)
http://home.no.net/endreke/bilder/PC/PiFast_51.31.JPG
Setup in sig, that's air cooled 2400 35W, NF7 and TwinMOS BH-5@2-2-2-11.
I just looked at the ranking list... is this really the fastest air cooled Barton? Extreme air people, wake up! :D
Edit: From what I can see there is no one with none chilled water that's faster either. Hm... I'm not impressed by the water and air OC'ers. :)

It's not that I didn't have the voltages this high, I would run 3.5V 24/7 if it would gain me something... but it seems not with those nforce2 boards as they're limited by heat and other chipset internal features...
P.S. Due to a short in vdimm mod I had aleady 3.88V there and it did not load windows (bluescreen) :D

But I'll get a Mach 1 now (around June 10), then I hope sub 50 won't be a problem. :) It's getting too hot for good results with air now, it will be a relieve.

Well..you have a GT and I have a M1 507.. dunno about that.. We'll see.. Probably pick a board up tomorrow morning. Dunno when I'll get the 2600's. Hope next week. In the meantime I putt my 3GHz mobile in it, but I doubt that will be fast enough.. On the other hand..my other Mobile didn't go as fast in my NF7.. Got 2850 out of it with 2.2V and it did 2960 with 2.12 in the DFI. So maybe my 3Ghz chip will go a bit faster on the DFI :D Time will tell..

The difference 32 bit OS kontra 64 bit OS is about 40 mhz at your speed.
That meens if you was going 64 bit the time will be as if you was going 40 mhz faster in 32 bit.
I found 2003 64 bit a tad faster than XP 64 bit;)

Ive tried Win2003 server (32 bit version) and got the same result. I must be doing something wrong with my OS tweaks, tried every common trick :(

Did you have to do the L12 mod to get that FSB?
And if you did, what was your highest FSB before the mod?

Try to run it one more time 2996MHz. Then i should hit the 42.1x.
Tried 290x10, but my BH-5 maxed out to 288MHz 2-2-2-5 @3.8v. The board maybe holding back my mem, but im not sure.
I do 280Mhz @3.4v...
Next week think i will refill my Mach1 with R507. Then 3GHz has to be easy to hit. I like your -40C idle :D
Well done all esp SAE ;)
Just posting to say i'm still around just finished updating the tables its upto date as of 2 mins ago.
Just so people are aware daily / weekly updates went out the
window as i needed to spend less time on PC stuff and more
time on RL stuff.
But I'm still commited to updating, but it may be a month apart
between updates i'll never let it span more than month though.
I'm in the need to revise how the system work's as the file size
is over 600K now and on dialup thats an issue for me so thats
another reason for doing less frequent updates.
anyway keep up the good work folks :)

Been a while since I've last put a score up here but hey, why not?
Got a new A64 3500+, Asus A8V and gig of HyperX PC4000....
Voltage mods are in order of course but I just got the board today. Aircooled btw w/ Zalman chunk of copper on it.
First up... as I didn't really know how to decipher the mem settings.. as there seems to be ALOT more than what I'm used to, I haven't changed anything but cas to 2.5.... And w/ that change and leaving the rest the same.. voltage @ 2.8v I got 263mhz.
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardware/a64_3500+/4938_hexus_pifast.jpg
And this score was a smidget faster.. my fastest I've hit thus far aircooled.
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardware/a64_3500+/4927_hexus_pifast.jpg
It really seems that the A64 loves more mhz rather than FSB. At least on this particular bench. When I have more time tomorrow I will be sure to run 3dmark and other benches. I also have a 6800 128mb (until the ultra comes out) to hold me over.
Also if interested...

http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~vnrswk/4577.jpg
Fastest score i could get out of my infinity and 2600+ MPMW 51 on DI :( .
On multi's 12 and 12,5 my cpu wouldn’t go above 3060 and on 13 it only did 3166 the same cpu does 3120 under fewture’s prom.
Definitely something wrong with the board or cpu but i just cant figure it out
Pic of the setup:

top meter displays nb and sb temps (both -) the other meter displays the temprature of the baseplate and the min base temp.

Well, maybe with a cascade.. My cpu just won't run those speeds. And since you're running about the max fsb on K7 possible..I don't see a real chance..

Could someone please explain this? Look at the speeds and then the time..

Now I ran this 3 times and all 3 runs gave a 46.XX. wtf? If I run it now it gives 47.XX (which is normal btw)
Edit:
Another one..

Just keep in mind I ran 47.45 on my previous DFI and that one was runnng 2912Mhz with 265MHz fsb..

Booster, Rammod, PSU mod ;)
Ramvolt = 3.9 volt
The mobo has better performance than Giga, and better corevolt. but its a hell, poor stability at that speed.
But it was stabil in 35.5 sek :D
:D updated
If only I had a cascade to play with.......
I don't know why, considering we void our motherboards anyway in making a direct
off board supply, remove Power Mostfets and solder connections to a beefier off
board power source and do away with the power stability a 8 phase souce could
be very handy rather than 3/4/6 way per current designs on boards.
Something for someone to think about...

I don't have a safe, tested OVP-mod for the A8V. If I had, I had posted in the mod sektion. But some of the resistance is the same on SK8N SK8V and A8V.
The card died the next day, but it was doing 2.112 for 5 hours.
I only needed 35.5 sek!
The mem is easy, mod give you 3.05 volt, then ram-booster op to 3.9-4.0 volt.
What's the best frequency u get on a screenshot at 2.11-2.12v? 3.6GHz and more?
I have not tested the max schreenshot. Been bussy doing 3DMark2001 :D
finaly got me a x800xt, its doing 600/620 default volt on air. Now it's voltmodded and mounted on the -112 C cascade. Testbench no oc was 35771

go to the 3700MHz :D
Tom how did you get 3.9v to ram on the a8v asus when ovp kicks in on the ddr over 3.05v?
I'm just having trouble understanding how your the only person I've seen past 3.05vdimm on a ASUS A8V. Even with a booster the motherboards OVP will hold memory voltage at or below 3.05vdimm.
And also where are you getting this vdimm number at, in the bios or in windows ?

have you tried your insane setup with 3dmark05 yet?

Seems like FX-52 rocks even with CH-5 memory, third run with my rig. Still trying to find optimal settings. Cooled with MachII r404

this board is realy bad on v-core :S this cpu can do 3.5 easy on superpi on asus a8v becouse it goes nice to 1.95v, with gigabyte its hard to get better than 3.45 @ the best of 1.8v :S
on pifast the best for today is 3.4

Well got add this one too, some improvement with Kingston KHX3000 and GB K8NSXP-939 modded, cooled with Prometia machII r404 mod.

Well, we are Numero Uno again (for 0.01sec) :D
We do a better score, but Win2K crashed at the easy part : save the screen capture
The comparison with our friend Tom is quite demonstrative of the importance of very low and well tweaked memory timmings (thanks CodeRed's A64 Tweaker ;) )
1 - Ricky & Pedro Rocha - 35.50sec - CPU@3.405 - 512 DDR@ 275 1,5-4-2-1
2 - Tom Holck - 35.51sec - 3.512 - CPU@3.512 - 1024@DDR 270 2-5-2-2
This means that better memory timmings are equivalent to more than 100Mhz in FX-53, which is quite amazing :slobber:
C'mon my friend Tom, turn on your -120ºC fantastic cascade, it is time to bench again :toast:
"#1 Tom H. was not running 270mhz fsb with 1gig at 2-2-5-2 on and "ASUS A8V" tom said he got 3.9v on the vdimm on this board kinda funny as OVP kicks in around 2.97v, knowone else in the world can get over 3.1v vdimm even tam+macci or other but TOM H. can -- HMM.."
"next and Ill only say this once 1gig is about 1s faster on pifast with same cpu clocks and same ddr timinggs within a 20mhz fsb meaning 3500mhz with 2x512, at 2-2-5-2 at 270mhz fsb will be slower than 3500mhz with 1gig at 250mhz fsb"
"this is a fact!!"
This is a quote from a friend of mine and i just thought yall would like to read it...

CCC, this is not fair and polite at all
see : http://pifast.hexus.net/pifast.php
I belive Tom Holck is very nice guy and a top class overclocker :)
Please do not write calumnious statements quoting anonymous "friends" of yours again <- First warning !
well first of all like i said i just thought yall would like to hear it.. I never said its my opinion... The forums are all about opinions and i just figured some people would wanna read it..
sorry :(
I also have an A8V and no matter what i do i cant get the ddr voltage over 3v or so.. It seems that noone can except Tom.. I just wish he would share the OVP mod with the rest of us ;)
LOL, thats what i was asking CCC, but i got brushed off also.
