I'm no electrical expert or anything, but shouldn't a compressors power use 3 conductors, one being for ground? Just curious as my Vapo LS doesn't have the ground.

Just so you can see what I mean.

It should have a ground in the power system somewhere either through the chassis or the device. Compressors sometimes short internally and occationally they go to ground so if the system is not grounded there may be potential on the chassis/compressor extenals and the compressor may also still be running...

Ohm the ground lead comming into it to see if it is connected to the shel of the compressor if it is then your ok..

Ok by the ground lead I assumed you meant the one that has no wire between the brown and blue wires. From that to the houseing it is a short, so I suppose it is grounded???

No...
From either of the 3 terminals on the compressor itself. The control your useing to turn it on and off could be grounded instead.
So open the cover on the compessor and check their first.

is there continuity between the green wire and the compressor shell (use the ohms X1 scale)

I think the compressors in Vapochill systems are 12v right? In that case it dosen't need to be grounded.

The mains (240V/110V) would be grounded though.

The little sticker on the control board says "115V"

It is a VapoChill LS. They run on 115/220v AC not like the older units. I haven't had a chance to check it yet, I'll do so when I have 5 mins.
