View Full Version : K8N vdimm directly from 3.3v rail
I have read about a vdimm mod for Gigabyte K8N.
With the mod vdimm is getting fed directly from 3.3v rail.
Does anyone know this mod? Pictures are appreciated.... :)
Sure would be nice not to lose the 0.2-0.3v like with the regular vdimm mod.

Have they fixed the issue with higher Vdimm killing the A64 chips??
If not, shoving the 3.3v rail (especially a modded one) could cause some serious problems.
I dont own an A64 setup, but I would certainly do research before doing the mod.

I bought my K8Npro which was already modded like that. I have been running with the 3.3v vdimm for about 1 month now with now ill effects. Only problem though is not being able to adjust vdimm. I test different ram, and not knowing being able to give different voltage is a downside. I just bought a K8NSPro however, and am going to mod the vdimm the traditional way. Once I got the K8N out I will take a pic and post the mod.
Here is the wire trick mod for K8N PRO. nothing else reguired and this covers both vdimm and vbt.
This is for K8N non pro
