i keep getting this bullsh1t where when i open IE or windows media player my comp hard locks and I keep getting sh1tty speeds with my cable...... i had none of these problems when i was with XP and had the exact same settings.......so for right now I'm running my comp at stock speed (1.53ghz). Hopefully i can "borrow" someones copy of win2k......

Here a link to a tuning guide for cable connections, give it a try a see if it helps. The latency settings tuning worked for me:)

Why do you want 2K out of curiousity? I use 2K at work, but at home I use XP and I prefer it. I have the theme set as the 2K one, but I find that it runs overall a bit better than 2K.

If it matters any, I used an XP machine with 128 ram for 2 months or so, and 256 for about 1 month. Then went to 512. I never had a slow down problem at all with 256 in comparison with XP.
I mean, it's better, but it's not that much of a noticible differance.
As far as stability, I say XP wins that over 2k easily.

Smizack - have you tried to play Army Ops with 256mb of ram and Win Xp? it creates horrible black lines all over the screen and lags horribly

No, but I've played many high fps games on xp with 256 and even 128 with zero problems. What video card are you using?
Hell, I played maxpayne on a 233 with a 16mb card with the graphics almost at max and had no problems.
Chylde has ran a 950, 64mb ram, and a 64mb card playing WCIII and it laged a bit, wich is to be expected with 64/ram. But the graphics were top notch.
