Howdy all, I've got a few questions for you lads and lasses tonight. I don't expect everyone to answer them all, and I appreciate any response :)

First and most importantly, I have an NF7-S that is the grand daddy revision, 1.0, and its VCore is limited to 1.85v which is then undervolted to ~1.79v so that becomes the max unmodded ability. I have used Mr. Icee's mod with an SMD grabber when the board was still under warranty. The reason why I need more than this voltage is because I plan to use my older Palomino core AGOIA in the board, whereas a Thoroughbred or Barton could go pretty far without a mod. I have also used the VDD mod from MBFaqs on the VReg's leg with another SMD grabber, and these both worked out well. That said, I now plan on doing a semi-permanent self-contained VMod with the wire carefully hotglued along naked areas of the PCB and gluing the VR's to the backs of the metal USB/parallel/keyboard plugs. Now the question is whether I can just solder to the resistors facing the VRegs or that they have to be directly on the legs. For visual aid, I have the VDimm mod which is from MBFaqs (http://home.earthlink.net/~ralphmeister/nf71_vdimm.jpg) (but a pic I took to give a more specific idea of what I'm talking about) and as far as the VCore (http://home.earthlink.net/~ralphmeister/nf72_vcore.jpg) and VDD mods (http://home.earthlink.net/~ralphmeister/nf73_vdd.jpg), I have placed question marks to the resistors in question :) Would it be possible to solder to those resistors like the VDimm mod for simplicity's sake or must it be to the VReg's legs?

Second question, I was following Mr. Icee's progress towards finding a way to change the VCore VReg's sensing so that the mod could go above ~2v's but around that time Abit released the newer revisions with the higher VCores and I lost track of what was going on. I am unable to find anything about it because of the migration towards the newer NF7 boards :( So this question comes down to, does anyone know of the overvolt mod for these older boards or have any Mr. Icee info on it? I ask this because my Palomino does particularly well with over 2v.

Third question, for the self-contained mods I will be doing, I plan on using the retention rings for ground, but looking upon these I realize the screws may not sit flat with solder on there so I was thinking of wrapping the wire around the board and soldering to the bottom of the rings, but there are only dots of tin and not rings like up above. The question is, would it be best to solder to the dots?

Fourth and lastly, but more of a superficial question, I don't much care exactly how it looks, but I have two colors of hot glue, clear and black. Which one would look more clean on the bronze/goldish PCB of my NF7-S v1.0?

Thanks for any and all responses, I could think of no better place to ask these :toast:
