temp / heat speader issue

Help guys

I got a p4 .. and the h/s was a bit loose

so i emailed the guy who i got it from and he said
it fell off and he glued the side of the chip,

so i decided to take it aprt.

I did that with out damaging the core.

it now boots with my intel stock fan, but temps are sky high

so i decided to test it with a slk p4 socket cooler, with a 92 mm fan temps rise past 75c very quickly.

:(

I checked for contact both cpus coolers have got the imprint of the
p4 chip :confused:

so i decided to put my heat speader back on, and that made no diffrence to temps.

I have i manged to do sumat to the chip ?


I think the coolers arent making "firm" contact with the cpu.

IS there a cooler which will make contact (Air cooler) ?
Iam using the p4 retention bracket.

ANy info please help.
