View Full Version : [Auto Update]3Dmark01, what's your score - thread

I've created a bot that automaticly updates the first post of threads where a 'contest' is being held.

It's real fun to have such threads, but updating them manually is a really boring and timeconsuming task. However, the bot crawls the forum every 6 hours, scans for entries, sorts them, and puts a neatly organized list in the first post of the thread. The only thing you have to do is placing tags around your score, eg nickname - score - systemspecs. Current supported contesttypes are 3dmark01, 3dmark03, superpi, folding at home. Other contesttypes can be made by request.

Another neat feature: the bot makes competition between forums easy. Just visit http://madmark.madoka.be/ , watch 'teams' or 'bots', and you can see how well XtremeSystems competes to other Fora. :)

So, do you guys wanna join? It's completely free & no strings attached. Just give the word and the but is up and running in 5 minutes.

example contest threads:

Thanks dude. Sounds cool. We should have another contest soon. I Don't know why it didnt work out last time but it did have the makings of something really cool. Interesting thing is, the setup did go really well with something like 50 people getting cards. Think it was saaya....

I'd give it a go this time around. Be nice to do something other thean envy new cards all day.

Okay, can a mod move the example thread to this subforum and give it a more appropriate title? :)

I'll share you my source code if you want, but I'm afraid it won't do you much good if you don't know j2ee well.
