View Full Version : Macci took down in 01
Looks like there is some heavy benching going on by jason57.
He just took macci down with a "slower card".
Im kinda suprised macci hasn't shown us some fx53 loving :D

woow :slobber: , I wish I had such card :D
Are they realy just running 200FSB (wichh I don't believe)? or is it a bug in 3D mark.
Thumbs up for jason
A little off topic: jason57==mickey mouse?

A little off topic: jason57==mickey mouse? Yep, anyways Jason says Macci should be able to take him down when he gets the x800xt running on cascade.

the reason is a 01 bug, and yes jason57 = mickey :)

That's a pretty big Nature score for a X800pro. Maybe just a little too much artifacting

Obviously we can see who has the faster system and who has the faster vid card...I wanna see both of them put together for a 36k score.

Jason get 35688 with a X800pro
with a X800XT we'll can see 37000
Jason is a king with his VC!!!!!!!!!!

interesting to see x800xt can close the diff of 270 mhz of fx cpu by itself

let the war begin, and opp is coming also.

+30 more marks in drag low and nature would surely get 36k. it think its going to take fx55 s939 action for 40k to come down

No offense to Macci, I dont know what I would do in the situation... everyone wants the latest greatest. Just so extra priveleged right now using an unavailable card in the XT.
Not to take away from his accomplishments. I mean techinically Jason has a better cpu (though available) so it's not like they are not an unfair grounds for competition and Macci and friends will probably take it back. But this is the only XT on the orb right?
Though I admit this is highly an exaggeration, imagine reviewers totally owning the charts when they had the cards in for review?
Again, no offense. It brings traffic to his site. Adds more cool factor (if at all possible) to the LN2 session webcast.... etc. etc.. I'd want to do it too. I imagine it is also nice for people to see what the XT is capable of. Otherwise we'd have special people guesstimating thousands of points, maybe *1.33 for pipes :D But looking forward to comparing things a bit more apples to apples. Go Team fins!.... take 'em with the pro!

the x800xt is already starting to appear in special places.....
It's still 10 days or so from being more widely avail, but they're out there a bit now.

I believe Macci said he would be doing some 3D2001 benching this weekend with his 3400 chip and his memory clocked up around 280 MHz. This will surely be a mean score.
Nice job for Jason though:)

Yeah indeed great score by Jason! :toast:
Its a real 'System power vs. Video power' match now :D
Its a shame that 6 out of 7 tests of 3dmark2001 are 100% CPU/system speed dependant once I reach 700/600 level w/ the card ;)
Still clock to clock the A64 ain't bad at all when compared to FX53..

True, +12fps in drag low and +8fps in drag high given theres not much difference in the cards shows that your A64 3400+ is very close to his FX53, that monster fsb helps a great deal.
either way, great scores from great overclockers ;)

What do you mean "for a X800pro"??? The X800's (XT and Pro) both get awesome Nature scores. Also, the XT and Pro are esentially the same card with only very minor differences. Were that not the case Macci would probably still be #1 on the ORB in 2k1. Of course the XT will spank the Pro if both are stock, but we all know nothing is run "stock" if it's on the front page!:D
Nice job Jason!:toast:

He means that the 12 pipe card is not that far behind the 16 pipe version in Nature (in this comparison). He must have got some nice clocks.

Great job jason :toast: and very nice cpu clocks....
There are alot of good overclockers especially in this forum but I still believe Macci and OPP are in a level of thier own..... its just a matter of time that it will be OPP vs Macci again and everyone will be fighting for third place..... seems like everytime there is new hardware someone ( like jason now) takes teh top spot, like with Quadamage when the A64 came out, but in teh end its always Macci vs OPP ......

16 v 12 pipes is not a minor difference in my opinion :) but agreed, the overclocking potential might level it up.
Nice score from Jason, will see what macci can do with a more tuned system this weekend.
If 6 out of 7 tests are cpu limited at high video card clocks i will be interested in 3,3Ghz of FX power will be able to do when The Hulk, sorry, Tom Holck, gets going. Opp will get all his kit together and then that will be good as well. Fugger should be well up there in 03 also.
I guess macci's and Opps 3400 and FX respectively will soon becoming to the end of their lives. It will be nice to see " fast " memory with 939 chips in June and July.

What about Tom Holck??? With the 3.4Ghz FX-53... And the -118 and -112C cascades... Hehe... Just wait till he gets an XT ;o)

OPP
Thats right, he and his friends with their amazing talents may do a repeat of the 2003 fiscio but with 2001 instead. also Macci has mentioned in an earlier post that 282x11=3.1GHz is the minimum cpu clocks hes gonna go for. If I remember right, Macci has never touched s940 cause of the registered ram and instead is waiting for s939 which is currently shipping by now.

depends on who gets their hands on hardware. someone with talent that happens to be the first to get something new can often take the front of the orb for weeks. Jason has mentioned that 35k is not going to be easy to achieve
"16 v 12 pipes is not a minor difference in my opinion but agreed, the overclocking potential might level it up."
I would be very interested to see Macci and Oppainter have a go with an x800pro(yes the pro) and see how it overclocks and scores against the xt. also plenty of slots on the first page of the orb for the x800pro still. It seems that the cores of both overclock equally well with the ram slightly better. It seems that those 4 pipes gain you about 30fps in nature if both xt and pro were clocked identically
"What about Tom Holck??? With the 3.4Ghz FX-53... And the -118 and -112C cascades... Hehe... Just wait till he gets an XT ;o)"
I cant wait till the day he tries that, should be a mean score too. even if his x800xt doesnt overclock as well, its not gonna matter much but in nature. s939 is comming soon, should be very interesting when the 40k milestone is hit
36k almost... And this is with a pro... Hehe... Sure we will hit 40k... Thats not even a prediction just a fact :D
