My 03 score is pretty low now it seems thanks to these guys :) , I'll have to have another try when my new motherboard and cpu arrive in June.
Dr Jay almost got my 2001 score as well .. maybe he has , I have not checked recently .. everybody gangs up on me :D

Andy,
I've regarded your '01 score as motivation / inspiration,.....but I don't think you are in any danger of me catching that score. I've done everything I can think of...stil 40 to 45 points off. Maybe its time to ditch my d@mn 512k cache A64.:D

Well that would certainly get the required points if you went 1MB :)
I had a look at my 5600U that has been sitting on the side for a while to see if it needed to put it's battle kit back on, only to find the volt mod had dropped off and the chip looked a bit cracked.
It's 3rd in line behind testing my 5800 and the 6800U when it ever turns up. I'm still awaiting 3700+ to appear on the scene, though the $$ seems a lot.

Thought I would re-use this thread since it deals with 5600Us.....
Just took the #1 spot on the ORB for 5600U overall -----18,267 3dmarks.

Kudos to Zakelwe for holding the top spot for six months.
More to come......
new cpu (1mb l2 cache a64) soon.
new mobo on the way
I believe there is quite a bit left in this gpu. Was able to run lobby test at 555mhz core on ducted air cooling......may try water or pelt/water.

Nice gpu core Mhz, I am awaiting a 6800U at present and then I want to mod my 5800, but after that I'll see if i can catch you up and make it interesting, I expect you to be nearer / over 19k by then though so might be out of reach.

Thanks Zakelwe. Yep, I'll be pushing for 19K!:) Hopefully, I'll be able to make it while staying with a socket 754 system. Think I'll see what I can get for an '03 score. I've been hesitant to try as I've been thinking installing DX9 would hose my '01 scores.

Hi Jay,
I know what you mean about the DX9 / DX8 thing, but I think you have the gpu power not to worry too much. With that gpu speed I think a very nice 03 score will result also. I think a move to 1MB cache would allow you close on 754, what RAM timings did you have for the 280Mhz and what type of memory was it ?
I have had news today that my 6800U is likely to arrive Monday so I am like a little kid again :) Shame the benching Palace still needs electricity ( and no sign of the girls in bikini's ), I'll have to do it in the house for the moment .. oh well.

Andy,
Maybe you could use a heavy duty extension cord as a temp. solution for the palace.
The memory I used for 280mhz was A-data pc4000. Cr@ppy 3-4-4-8 timings though:( . Sandra '04 reports mem bandwidth of 42xx / 42xx, and benchmarks seem to be better that other ram that I have been running at 210mhz 2-2-2-11-10-16 timings. The real problem is my mobo's (Leadtek NF3-150) Vdimm being limited to 2.8v and even that is undervolted to approx. 2.77.
Do you think you will be able to break the top 10 on the ORB for either '01 or '03 with your 6800U???

That memory timing is not tight however it did allow you to run 1:1 . I did some testing earlier this week with pifast to check the difference between 5:4 and 1:1 on AMD64 K8Pro chipset and found that you have to gain 50MHz in FSB speed to get the memory performance back to 1:1 levels, so 250x8 5:4 did the same score as 200x10 1:1. I expected the 250 gain to outweigh the 5:4 loss.
I am getting some Corsair XL Pro memory this weekend and hope to obtain the claimed 2.5-3-3-7 @ 250 1:1 which will better than my current. In fact I am still fine tuning as this Abit has 3.2v for RAM but the VBT seems low, hence a problem. I will let you know if it is good.
Having just looked at the top 10 scores I doubt it, will have to see. This is going to be my gaming card so no mods, my current gaming card, 5800, which is unmodded will have the fright of it's life soon as I have some chilled water and two vmods prepared for it, I am hoping for near the top in both benches, but we shall see.

I'm currently using the 53.03's. Check out the first page on the orb for 5600u. ZETT FX is far and away ahead of the nearest scores on a P4 3.3 - 3.4ghz. I can only assume its the 53.30 drivers. Never tried them though. Hard to find,....had to run a google search. Guru3d might have them. I think there is a modded version for non-quadro cards.

Nice work :toast: No volt mod either yet, mine clocks less than yours with the volt mod :D LOL . Good luck
The Corsair XL Pro memory was poor on the Abit Kv8Pro with a max overclock at 2.5-3-3-7 of less than 230Mhz :( So that is no good.
I am getting rid of this Abit KV8 Pro board and going back to the old Kv8 with the non Pro chipset hoping it gives me back my VTT voltage! I'll live with the lack of fixed PCI bus if it does.
On another bad note my CoolFX 6800 is still not delivered, promsed last Monday so I have cancelled it and have ordered the Extreme Golden Sample 2600 for August. In the meantime with the money saved I might try a cheap video card to bench mod to keep me interested.

Well I got it better on my P4 machine after it was low on that as well, so I think it is the Rivatuner settings now as i defaulted them all. However it might be something else, got to test it tonight. Slowly getting better in that it is faster now, but on the wrong motherboard :)

Okay. Tried the 5600u with a p4 2.4c at 3.6ghz(300x12). 4/5 mem ratio, 865pe mobo, same 53.03 driver. It was so bad, I stopped game test 3 right as it started,....wasn't even worth finishing. Of the 2 tests completed, I lost 20 fps on test 1 and approx. 10 fps on test 2. Either something is wrong with my system, or the p4 isn't really better at '03 than A64.

In 03 you should not lose anything on GT2 at all with changing the cpu as it is video card capped on a 5600U, so that is strange.

Well put Andy! Firstly, I thought I was using 53.03 until early last week, when I noticed I had actually installed the 53.06 drivers. I didn't even realize there were 53.06 drivers. I have since rolled back to 53.03 and there is no difference in performance. I believe I downloaded those drivers from either Nvidia or Guru3d,......have at them. However, I think what Andy was saying is that as far as Futuremark is concerned, if 53.06 is cheating, then so is 53.03.
Jay

Just to put the issue ( even though there really isn't one) to rest, I ran '03 again with the 53.03 drivers. My score improved by 21 pts. with no change to the hardware.

The things I'm currently working on are:
