going to get 2 CPU's, one from Tedinde its a 2.8C but i dont think its going to do 4ghz. But its a good CPU and worth what he is asking so ill throw it in my server.

But my main rig is just asking for 4ghz STABLE!
main question is a 3.0C worth the extra? seems like more 3.0C's are doing 250 fsb for 3.75ghz with default volts. are 2.8C's similar? 40 bucks less. Maybe even a 3.2C?

Edit: ill be on water

I'd go for a 3.0 or even 3.2 (if you have the money for it).
4Ghz with a 2.8C will be very difficult, unless you'd be running a Prommy or so.
You might have more luck reaching 4Ghz with a 3.0C or 3.2 than with a 2.8.

wonder if 3.2C is worth the extra $$$ i could run 1:1 to 4ghz though with tight timings 2-2-2-5

If you found a 3.2 that would go 4G it would be quicker than the 3.0 at 4g as you'd probably have to run 5/4. It would take a very nice 2.8 to reach 4G on water. Both the 2.8 and the 3.0 that I have would be considered good oc's. The best the 2.8 did on air was 270 stable and 277 bench. The 3.0 would probably make it as it bench at 265 on air.
