steppig over to a64, would i benefit to use windows 64bit?
Not out yet - in a buggy stage of beta currently.

Yes, until final version of XP-64 is out.

NO ! few drivers available. And some major apps like Nero don't run, unless you have a newer version.

Not everybody will benefit from a 64bit OS.
It really depends on your needs.
I have 64bit linux installed the only app that clearly benefits from 64bit IMHO is GCC (GNU C compiller).
I still use my 32bit install day in day out. (dual boot)
If you are a gamer 64 bit is of no benefit, well atleast not yet...
