Ocing my 9700p

I had a saphire 9700p just like the one i have now, and it started giving me artifacts and then it gave out. I rma'd it 3 times until they gave me a new one. Its the same model Sapphire 9700p 128, i ran it at 310.5 297 stock, and i benched at 385 317. All this with everything stock, do you guys think that the overclocking is what messed it up? its wierd because it gave up after doing this, and I mean like 2-3 weeks of use after it. I want performance, so i want to squeeze out everything I can since my cpu clocks wont go above 200x11 @2.2ghz 1.65v 11-2-2-2 Corsair twinX 512k pc3200. The cpu is a 2500+. Thanks guys!

is your case pretty warm? if you had a 9700NP, id suspect it was locked via BIOS. My Stock BBA 9700P does 360/340. Your mem should be doing much better than just 317.

its a pro and my case isnt warm, dont have any idea of why i shouldnt get more

maybe you could try flashing it to a different cards' BIOS.

I dont think flashing the card can help you!!
you just need a better cooling system...

For benching, i can do 395/345 with two fans blowing on it. I removed the stock fan and just put a 92m fan over it with a rubber band and an 80mm fan blowing on the back.

BTw, how did you get 18k on 3dm2k1?
what clocks on your cpu and 9700?
atm, i can only get about 16900:(

ouch, I'm getting 13.5K with a 9600 series card, thats pretty bad.

11k! ouch! what kind of clocks can yer 9700p do?

definetly up that FSB, it will help a lot.

Thats a pretty bad score m8 , i got 24.000 and the card is cooled with air ( 500grams copper blok :D )

My 9700p can get to 360@345 with stock colling...
i cant et any highr with the cpu its the older core... 0.18micron

Im new here, and i've 9700pro too. But i only get 348/330. I cant get more. If over 348/330 it will be Artifacts. Though i used WB & ramsink mod. Any body help!

sounds like a crummy core if it artifacts at such a low speed. Try the vgpu mod. I doubt the culprit is heat, since you are using a waterblock on it.
