theinquirer tested an lga 775 3.2ghz prescott (800fsb) with ddr-1 and a pci-e 5900. result:

It's just a new Pentium 4 with a new socket and we didn't notice any significant performance increases with Sandra or in any other system performance test.

they have a bunch of bench results infos and some pix over here (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=16014)

effective with ddr-2 only? thats like saying a64s are only effective with win xp-64...

i heard ddr2 still sux pretty bad and is only faster in a few apps where massive bandwidth is required and timings dont matter, like video encoding. thats why a lot of manufacturers have chosen to use the i915 with ddr1 instead of ddr2.

So will DDR2 will be another flop like Rambus?

hmmmm i dont think so. ddr2 will be cheaper than rambus and there is no alternative atm. i think it will take ddr2 800 or even higher to finally make everybody switch to ddr2.
