LOL, not many 2.4C make it that high The one I used to have was better then average and did 300 stable, or 3.6 air/water, under a Mach1 it did 3714.. It takes a damn good 2.4C to break 4 gigs! Do you realize thats still 300 fsb, even for a 3.0C? Few 3.0+ procs make 4.5, and to expect that from the average 2.4 just because its Sub zero cooled is simply WISHFULL THINKING...

Decent clocks there bro, looks like you have an exceptional 2.4 on your hands, Nice OC:toast:

LOL 4.5 with a vapo, ok lets see here 2.4 going to 4.5 if i hit 4.4 that would be a 100% overclock. So if your running a 3.0 with a vapo i wanna see 6ghz.

Karnivore

I made it into windows @ 4ghz, but was even stable enough to catch a screenie. I was only using 1.7v too. I may just bump it up to 1.725 or so and get a screenie.

4.5ghz on a vapo with a 2.8C LOL that is 375 fsb bro will have a hell of a time pulling that off. Will need mach1 cooling on the northbridge and it mostl ikely wont make it

that would be "only" 321 fsb mate... for a 2.8

thats not toooo much mine did 313 not stable of course.

I believe it was a typo as 375x12=4500, hence the 2.4C which is the highlight of this post.

I'm just curious why the hell Kanavit automatically expects 4500 from a 2.4 just because its under a Vapo?

On a sidenote, my 3.0C does 305 no problem under an unmodded mach I.. Gee, according to Kanavit thinking It should do, what 5 or 6 ghz? Or maybe not since its a Prom:slapass:

eheh correct...

erll my 2.8 is prime stable at arround ~4.2 ghz @ 1.75V and its a 2.8 M0 on a mach 2 GT... i wish i could even get a screen at 4.5ghz lol

cuz he thinks its all the same cores .... and he also think that a low fsb high multiplyer is better than a high fsb and low multiplyer.... :stick:

Wow, didnt expect this to happen. LOL! I dunno guys, I was just posting my results and ish. Dunno how things went this direction. Never the less, have fun guys. Later!

3.8GHz is no biggy for a good 2.4C, I've seen a 2.4C L319 doing 3.85GHz on air, stable at 1.55V VCore, but no dual channel, only one stick of RAM was used. Once a second stick was added, the mobo couldn't handle the high FSB. It was a stock out of the box EPoX 4PCA3+ rev. 2.0.

Well I guess were down to definition, my experience with a pretty large number of 2.4C's says 3.8 on air is not a "GOOD" proc, more like exceptional, I would even say rare. And I've never said a 2.4 couldn't hit 4.5, just that to expect 4.5, or even 4.0 from 10 out of 10 2.4's IT JUST ISN"T GOING TO HAPPEN:rolleyes:

And 3.8, is an exceptional 2.4, that is far from a daily occurrence, especially air cooled....

You're quite right, 3.8GHz from a 2.4C is exceptional, I've seen only two or three CPUs doing that, and the L319 was the most stable at lower VCore. The other were both L321 and they worked just fine at default volts at 3.6GHz. Wish I had bought one of them when I had the chance, now it's too late :(

good clocks

Indeed, very good, 3.85GHz at stock volts or at 1.55V is not something you see everyday, especially on air cooling, silent aircooling even, SLK-900U and some Antec 92mm fan, and a totaly unmoded mobo.

good job dude. I wish you slapped that cooling on my old chip though....ur not gonna believe this.....

ON AIR

Wonder what it would do under your cooling man?

ScrillA.. Please tell me your bios settings..

I also got a mach1 (R404a), abit max3 ( fully moddet) and a 2.4C but i got som problems when trying to get over 300fsb the its feels like windows is slowing down or someting.. Maybe its the agp/pci lock that doesnt work? ( got a 9800xt and a sata disk)

dpa

boot up @ 295Mhz FSB.. adjust the agp/pci til 74/37 IN WINDOWS...

then increase the fsb to 315Mhz.. now the "slowdown" is no more.. it disappeared on my asus card.

Honestly did you think before posting this :D 4.5ghz would ONLY take 375mhz fsb on a 2.4c

3.8ghz is quite nice, although I personally think it comes down to the board when passing 3.4ghz on a 2.4c although a nice chip doesn't hurt

I have 3851MHz on air. 2.4C L319, single channel generic ram, SLK900+Delta cooling. 4PCA3+ rev. 2.0 with no mod and passive NB cooling. Stable enough for some Pcmark and Sandra benchies. Alexandrus found it for me. Thanks mate :toast: Maximum speed it would POST is 4023MHz. I would LOVE some IC7 Hypro modded
