I'd just like to let you guys know that after being a loyal [H]ardforum poster (just short of 5,000 posts) I've decided to "convert" and make my new home here at Xtreme. You guys have always inspired me to do more with my OC's so I figured it's only best that I immerse myself in the forums as much as I can.
Just thought I'd say hi is all. ;)
EDIT: You'll be seeing a lot more of me late summer and into fall, as I'll have my 3.2C water cooled with a brand new X800XT/6800U under the hood of my Lian-Li.....and the MAX3 is on the way in the next month too. :D It's time to ditch this POS AI7. ;)
EDIT: In case you were wondering why I posted this HERE, it's 'cus I'm moving on over to the XtremeSystems 3DMark team at the same time, happy to be aboard.

I started at [H] too. As I grew the threads stayed the same. Lots of crazy projects here especially in the phase change section.
Welcome!
OT: Kyle is really showing some disrespect to his faithfuls I think. It has said the hardforum, if he had to guess would be up "sometime next week." That has been there for 2+ weeks... lol. So it was supposed to be sometime not last week but the week before. Just the wording is funny. Guess he's stuck in the movie groundhog's day. A month will go by, and it will say... if I had to guess... oh... probably next week. :p Not to mention that site is the guys freaking job and pure hobbyist driven sites can get a forum to work in a reasonable amount of time. I still go to [H] all the time especially for the news so dont read this like I'm an [H] hater, but he is certainly dropping the ball. I was in the middle of a deal even... arggh!

Yeah, I think that'd be cool, do you guys have that sort of thing in the states or what?
Heh, it's funny how all of us that have "moved over" refer to [H] as if it's some horrible cult. Well.....I guess that isn't TOO far off. ;)

Don't worry, I'll have my 30k score up late this summer or early fall, when I have the "up and coming" 3.2C on water with my next-gen video card OC'ed. ;)

I'm thinkin' That I will too.....and I'll be proud to be a member of the xtremesystems team on the ORB when I finally break 30k this fall. :D
Funny thing is that I'm the one who STARTED the actual [H]ard|OCP 3DMark team....we just didnt have any extreme guys like Macci or Opp on board over there so there's wasn't a WHOLE lot to show off.

Man, I really know how you feel. At [H] I was well respected and well known.....but here I'm just a new poster.....and it's kinda frustrating sometimes. I'll admit that I'm not AS hardcore into some things like extreme cooling (dry ice, phase change etc.....) as some ppl are, but it's always good to learn.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to water cool my system at all.....or If i should just get a nice HSF setup. What I'd be getting if i stuck with air is the Thermalright SP-94 with a 92mm Panaflo M1A slapped ontop of it.
What do you think guys.....fairly good chance of me hitting 4GHz on nice air cooling? I'm only asking 'cus there're a couple things I'd MUCH rather spend the cash on.....but we'll see.

welcome to both of ya :) Its great to learn something new everyday.. :)
the only thing negative is the size of your wallet decreases as your browsing though various phase-c, hardcore cpu, sick ram and mod threads.. You fell the "I MUST HAVE IT ALL MUUUHAHAHAH" :D

Heh, that's what I've been feeling already just over the past couple days or so.....it isn't taking long to set in at all. ;)
I'm almost more inclined to leave everything on air cooling as it's that much more of a challenge, and that much more of an accomplishment when you DO get some nice results out of it.

Nah... its too easy and you usually have enough volts at your disposal for air on a good board. I think then you are depending too much on luck that you got a good chip, and not tipping the scales in your favor. Alternative cooling is a more active approach. At [H] they say you are buying your overclock if you have a prommie, but thats not how I look at it. It is nice to see good scores on air, I just encourage you to maybe follow through with those liquid cool plans. It could be nice and cheap. There is something xtreme in every budget. It's nice when your friends look at your machine puzzled and you realize you are a lunatic.

Yeah, that is truely a great thing when you are looked upon in that light. ;)
I guess the water cooling I had planned WOULD look really nice.....with the custom external mounting of the rad and a couple other things I was gonna get done.....
Bah, I give up.....bring on the h2O. :toast:

I'd go for the water. Its not break the bank expensive (unless you droped out of high school and are un employed :p: ), quiet, gets you great temps, and looks awesome :D

I do agree with all of these points, but I'm not QUITE going for silence with this setup. ;)
The nice thing about the rad/setup I'm probly gonna be getting is that since my Lian-Li is black with a nice aluminum interior.....it's gonna look fricken pimped out with the rad ontop (inbetween two silver aluminum case handles) because the casing of the rad is chromed. :D
Just picturing it all setup once more is almost enough to "seal the deal" right here and now. ;)

Hey Cornelious!!!
I started hanging out here more too now that the [H] is closed...back to noob status lol.
I see in your sig that you still have the radeon 9800 xt...is that the same one i was helpin you vmod over at hardforums? I thought it was dead...did you ressurect it (hopefully asks)?
Main reason I converted is because I noticed that the entire overclocking section at [H] consisted of posts by me and cornelious linking them to xtremesystems. Links to this forum must have made up a quarter of my posts there....figured that was a sign....
Anyway since no one was updating the hardforums 3d team I think it's officially time that I give all my 3dmark scores to xtremesystems.org. Nothin special but a score just shy of 22k with a 9700 pro ain't that bad. When I get some new bh5, I'll put up a 22k score for sure (see cornelious, nothins changed:p:). ANyways I guess i'll make xtremesystems my new home too and relegate [h] for when I'm in a flaming mood.
:toast:
PS: GO WATER look at my sig. Nuff said about what a good water setup can do. Plus the video card could handle more volts if you did get that vmod working right

Yea well setup water with good hardware can get impressive clocks.
I have a kingwin KT424 case in black. I'm EVENTUALLY gona put a 2*120 heatercore on top with handles for carrying :D Gona look so friking awesome.

Yeah, basically the same as what I'm doing for my Lian-Li.....except I'm only using a single 120mm rad. Still pimped though. ;)
I started hanging out here more too now that the [H] is closed...back to noob status lol.
Yeah, isn't that the truth. :p: I know how you feel. I dunno, it'll be intersting to see how the forum works out when they're finished. They said that they were deleting all old threads that hadn't been posted in this year.....but hopefully they can do so without effecting my post count.....cus I WAS still going to get my last 200 posts and hit 5,000.

heh, nope.....the card looked fine "afterwards" and I got a replacement from ATI. It worked out great too, it showed up just before a LAN I was going to that weekend. ;) The new card isn't QUITE as good as my old one for overclocking, but I can't complain.....it was free. :toast:

Yeah, it's kinda funny how things started to pan out after awhile around there. I dunno, I'm thinkin' that I'll keep posting over at [H] when it's back up.....just because I have a great deal of respect over on those forums, and there are a few people i know of that have been "following me" ever since day 1, and who have apparently read ALL of my 4,800 posts. ;) Gotta give the people what they want. ;)

I dunno, if you're leaving then I'll be tempted to keep my scores over at [H] instead.....cus we really didn't/don't have a lot of TRUE enthusiasts to call our own.....and I'd like to contribute what I can. I think what's gonna happen here is that I'll keep posting on XS, but my home will still be [H]ard|OCP.....I've simply spent too much time helping people/getting to know people over there to just ditch.
Heh, is there a way to work [H]ard and Xtreme into the same sentence.....'cus I'm "afraid" I'll have to answer to both.

I'm definetley gonna continue posting there but I have an idea about the 3dteams that I might do if it's not against the rules...alternate benching....every other bench goes to the [H]. IS that against the rules?

I don't think anyone would be highly opposed to it. You're talking about every time you get a new high switching from one side to another right?
Might make more sense just to stick with one place if its just with one card.

Yeah, I'll probly have to leave my scores with [H].....
Man, it'd be nice to have a pimped A64 setup as well as my P4.....so I could bench 'em both and use them "against" each other in opposing forums. ;)
