I was thinking about adding Antifreeze and some anti-bacterial dish washing soap, can I do this with the right amounts? Maybe 88% distilled water 10% antifreeze and 2% soap? I know that antifreeze increases the viscosity of the solution and I thought the right soap could compensate for the antifreeze while lowering the surface tention of the water and also killing bacterial along the way.

The thing I'm running on 100% distilled right now and I have a gallon of prestone antifreeze and some soap that I need to treat my WC system with very soon and I wanted to know if it was safe to do so????

I guess my real question is can I mix blue UV reactive die and a small amount of dish washing (anti-Bacterial) soap with anti-freeze without screwing up my WC setup???

mmmm soap plus moving water would probably make for soap suds, and lots of bubbles if there is any air at all in there. I think antifreeze does the job just fine, no need to add atni-bac soap.

u will have bubbles in your reserviour ....which isn't really pleasant.

even the slightest ammount of soap will still produce bubbles. But i guess you could try ...put in like a few drops of the soap and see :D

He he he, bubble bath here we come :)

Car cooling anti-freeze additive is perfectly fine as biocide so .... but DO take some piccies with all the bubbles :)

lol well if anti-freeze also acts as a biocide then I don't need soap. What % of ant-freeze should I use for the best mix ratio with distilled waster??

Around 20% should be nuff

Thats exactly what the antifreeze is for... killing bacteria. Additives for regular water cooling serve this purpose and this purpose alone. You want as much of the mix to be distilled water as possible. Only in a chiller does it help you cool by allowing the fluid to go below straight waters freezing point. I wouldnt even use 20%. I just use water wetter because it doesnt look as fugly. It may cost abit. Dont buy into that helping your temps really either. Just keep the funk out.

5 gallons?...holy...that big...and yeah, i don't think u would want any bubbles...that would worsen ur water cooling

dishwasher soap doesn't make bubbles ...

Soap should not be used because it causes soap scum, and it wipes out some of the properties of the waterblock and can cause water congestion

Antifreeze is good
