Board's limiting me... Vcore is not very stable and the mod makes it worse. :(

And fsb is heat limited. Nobody can really go higher than that at room temps stably.

I gave up on the little Xp/r9800 pro combination a year ago, when I could do alittle under 22k with it.
seeing how your at 25k just amazes me, cause I remember how hard I worked for that 22k then.

Nice work! You have some nice clocks there!

Some tips though... You really need to work on your car low and lobby high. I actually beat you in car low which should at happen at your speeds. Try rerunning it a bunch of times until you get a better score.

your on a AMD64, he's on a Xp.
they are gonna naturally be different.
the XP has to work alot harder to make up for the strengths of the A64 you have.
it's not really a "apples to apples" comparison your thinking of.

Right. But he's got a point, too. As I ran my tests in a special order and my car scores suffer this way... But overall I get a better score this way. (the tests run first have the highest frame rates)

And in my experiences re-running always results in a lower score :(

I find re running car low might not be such a bad thing ( assuming u dont run it first).. Boost up the clocks by a few MHz can give like 10fps ..

Wow :eek: Did not know that. But then I had to fiddle with rivatuner inbetween the tests... :D Okay. Maybe tomorrow (more like today cause it's 3:30AM already ;) )

soemtiems when I am having a problem with tests getting lower for no reason, and rebooting doesn't help...
I change the order of the benchmark.
this always worked for me.

try.

Lobby Low.
Dragothic Low.
Car low.

Lobby high.
Dragothic high.
Car High.

nature.

take a few seconds between each test to let the card and CPU cool down alittle.
this also helps if you have a tendency to get the "CPU Speed variaion" error.

it's worth a shot.

Kunaak: I am completely aware of that. But, as I said before, at his speeds...he should still wipe the floor with me in every 3dmark test.

SAE: I hope you didn't take any offense to what I said, I was just trying to help a fellow over clocker. ;) If you rerun the test and it comes out worse, just keep running it...maybe leaving a cool down period in between runs. Eventually you'll get a better run.

Yeah. I ran: D L, L L&H, D H, C L&H, N :D

I had to fight cpu variation error... but that's because I have to boot up at 11.5x256 due to apic/windows... then up my clocks to 264x11.5. If I do this after starting 3dmark it's all okay. I don't get the error then. But when I up the clocks before I get the error.

BTW. I always have to check whether 3dmark shows the right clocks after starting it anyways. Cause sometime it even shows way too low cpu clocks even without upping fsb. Weird.

well, no thats not really true.
I have a 27,166 score for my 5900 NU done, and I've seen scores as low as 23k that beat me in somethings like dragothic high or lobby.

as long as he beats you in the appropriate areas, theres nothing really wrong.
your system has bigher bandwith, with the 1 meg cache and the 800 HT on there.
if his Memory OC"s better then yours that would help alittle.

but he doesn't need to beat you in "Every" test, cause different motherboards and different CPUs and such score differently.

you can get 2 AMD64 that score the exact same score and have one alittle better then the other on some tests and worse on another.
every motherboard is alittle different.

SAE - how do u find CAT 3.1 vs 3.5? umm I think u can get a lil bit more :) may be another 60-70 points from driver change and a good run

That's totally true.

And I have to add: The AXP is much worse in Lobby high because of those integrated memcontroller in A64 and therefore the much lower latencies... bandwidth on mem does not have to be lower with axp... but latencies are what matter IMO.

BTW. It's really a killer score in lobby high for AXP, I don't think there's someone with a higher score on R350/360 and AXP...

I tried that. For me those 3.1 are best. The 3.5 were around 80 points worse.

heres a compaison of your 25k score with my 27k score done with a FX51 at almost 3 ghz.

this is what I mean, the dragothic high is almost the same as mine.
but the other tests are ahead by a fair lead.
especially car low.

theres no real problem with my benchmark or his, just different PC's have different strenghts.
in this case a Xp againt a FX51 isnt bad huh ? ;)

Hmm. Had to fight dead win installations, instability issues (due to corrupted windows files due to too ambitious additional dfi ram timings due to too much SICKNESS!!! :D ) and some raid to single drive modding ;)

Oh. The cooling (Mach2 GT) alone 850euros, the cpu 120, the board 150, the ram 160, the gfx card 480 (1 year old, hehe), harddrives... dunno, water blocks and heatercore around 200... plus the small unnescessary part like keyboard, mouse... :hehe:

sum=1680 with 200 for vidcard ;) (only the above numbers)
plus additional stuff...
