1 Design me a Monster $1500-2000
If anyboby is bored today maybe I can get some ADVICE on a new mobo, gpu and mem,

I'm gonna start from scratch:

$1500-2000 to spend

INTEL HT? 3.2-3.4 or AMD?
water-cooled cases (pre-built) cpu h2o only?
x800 or 6800?
Dual channel DDR of course?
MOBO???
Any suggestions?

now isnt that great of time to buy if you want your system to last. Socket 939 is coming in just a month or 2 and it wont require regged ram and it should have better mobos avalible for it.

i wouldn't waste money on water-cooled cases. they don't really help temps much as air cooling nowadays, wc just offers more silent operation. i would either get a P4 3.2EE/ 6800 ultra system or an A64 FX-53/x800xt system. i guess getting an FX-53 is also future proof too. since it is the worlds 1st 64-bit windows processor.

FX-53 Require Registered ram which will cost an arm and leg right? Besides Windows 64 bit won't be mainstream until atleast mid 2005.
I would hold out and wait a bit longer till Intell releases dual core Pentium 6 64 bit processors.Btw they will have SATA2, PCI-Express, and BTX.

Tiill then I would just buy P4 3.0ghz HT, Asus P4P800 Deluxe, Dual Chanel pc3200 ram.

X800PRO - $400
A64 3400+ - $420
Abit KV8Pro - $110
2x256mb KHX3200 - $169
LiteOn DVD 8x+-RW - $90~130
2x36gb raptors raid 0 - $240
TTGI 520W psu - $90
LianLi PC 75 - ~$180
Asetek Waterchill CPU/GPU/NB - $250

$700 for mach2 st at www.kit-tronics.com

The KV8Pro new bios will feature agp/pci locks. You will have 1.8vcore and 3.2vdimm plenty of headroom for overclocking without vmods. I dont really think you need a mach2st. Watercooling is silent and looks good. You should be able to do 2.5+ghz with that setup there
