Hey guys..Im new to the forums and was recommended here by a friend..

Anyway on to my question..I was curious if anyone would be able to help me on overclocking my AMD64 3200+ on my K8V Deluxe Mobo...My temps run 39C Idle and the mobo runs about 20C Idle..I also have 1 gig of ram...Thanks for the help i really appreciate it :)

Oh yes i forgot to add..I have already tryed going and looking for the "FSB" and the "Multipliers" And I didnt find them.. So i believe my board is locked..I know there has to be a way around it since i see people with my MOBO who o/ced there same CPU..

First thing, what type of cooling do you have on that thing? 39C idle seems very hot what are the load temps?

actually that was before I managed to give it a good cleanign lol...Idle is about 35C now...I have the stock fan on it right now ... Load seems to go up about 10C ...

Well you could oc it a little with stock fan, but if you really wanna pump some juice into that baby you might want to look into something like a thermalright heatsink. As far as ocing in the bios is conserned I have never used that mobo but I assure you it is not locked. Look in your motherboard manual for fsb settings. BTW you can only change multipliers down with that processor, but fsb can go up. If you are very new to this and need to learn the basics I would take a look at the stickies in this section to learn the basics.
Have fun! and Good Luck!

Hmm ive seen some pretty high with the stock fan, and also let me change my temps one more time...I got about 29C Startup and 24C Case

are you just going for screen shots, or are you going for stable speeds? Your idle temps dont matter if you want stable speeds. My system can do -52C idle, but it wont do me any good when under load it drops to -39C.

Post your load temps, thats what most people go by anyways.

you wont necessarily see anything labeled "fsb" in the bios, because that a64s have a new naming called HTT. look for that. but for overclocking a64s i suggest a clockgen. www.cpuid.com

Yes i am going for stable speeds..Also i already have CPU-z

No he does me clockgen not cpu-z. It lets you change the fsb, multi and voltages in windows for an a64 system.
