:hello:

i'm testing my ddr 500 A-data today, I put multiplier 4 and then i began to increase fsb.. i reach 342 at the moment but latency isn't that good i think.. (52 ns)..

I put 2.9v . no vddr mod at the moment.
my system : shuttle an50r
a64 3200+
2x256 ddr 500 A-data

what multiplier is the best in order to have best performance?
is 340 normal..? i heard that multiplier .5 aren't that good.. i didnt test that much under .5 multiplier..

its not actually running 340fsb... its a glitch with the 4x and .5 multipliers

eviLRuLeZ

ok
how can i reach a high fsb then? with which multiplier?

Since 5 is the lowest ram-divider, your ram is running @ 273Mhz

(342/5) * 4 = 273

To run 1:1 you need to run 5 or above, and no half multis.

eviLRuLeZ

ok i'm going to test with multiplier above 5 and no half multis too :D
i'll post screenshots here ;)
thx Formann :)

they have to fix that bug.Bt 273 is still good.

thats average for hynix chips, nice board though it seems, and nice cpu.

bios is last, 26
i hope i'll reach more than 273 tonight :D

Try to test the memory in Sisoftsandra.

it reached something like 295 now under sandra

Nice scores.. And nice sticks. How much voltage are you feeding“em ?

eviLRuLeZ
05-16-2004, 05:58 AM
2.9v only
i need to do vddr mod in order to see if they can reach a better frequency :D

300 shud be np with a little more volts:D

tried lowering the timings a little? ..

If you are after performance then lowering the timings would incerase ever so slightly.

would be interesting to know if these chips could run
better timings lets say

230 fsb 1:1 - 2-3-3-6 or 2-3-2-6

eviLRuLeZ
05-16-2004, 09:06 AM
ok i'm going to test better timings ;)
i have run 2.5 4 3 5 but its stable only under 255 mhz though.
i tested 3 4 4 5 too. stable around 270,280 but no more.

Nice clocks and buffered :toast:

How is the 'real world speed' at those timings ?
aka unbuffered (http://www.akiba-pc.com/e107_images/articles/30c/memsettings.gif) Sandra mem

hynix can run cas2? 300mhz is nice, most hynic sticks crap out at 280

eviLRuLeZ
05-16-2004, 10:26 AM
it doesnt even boot with cas 2 :D
macci, where can I find this screen setup in sandra?
i reached 297 on sandra, i try to reach 300 @2.9 but its getting hard :/

saaya

is it running hot? ramsinks could give you a nice 5mhz boost.

right click on memory bandwidth benchmark and then click on module options

evilrule,

did you try to run them at lower fsb at 2-3-3-6 or something?
you just said that they dont boot at cas 2 does it mean also at lower fsb?

no, it seems not to be hot but it already has heatsink on it.
it's DDR 500 Vitesta with heatsink
i reached 297, i screened, now i aim 300 and tomorrow i'll do vddr mod :)
thx JWB :)

it's not booting at cas 2, 200 fsb .. thomas66 :/

ok thanks evilrule

that means for me iam not going to buy them probably...

Lo guys, kinda new here;)

Post my Adata vitesta DDR 500 timings @ low cas 2-3-3-6 @ 3.2V

They love voltage but my mobo (IS7-E voltmodded) craps out @ 3.2V.

your not running 1:1 -- CPU-z bug at 6x multiplier..

AFAIK there is no bug with the 6x MP .. only with 4x and .5 MP.

I think his RAM is running 297Mhz.. cause of his sandra-score:

4589 MB/s .. 4589/8 = 573.6Mhz effective. ~287Mhz actuall speed.

Thats 287 Mhz with 100% bandwidth efficiency .. lets presume he has 97% bandwidth efficiency, which is realistic, we get: 297*0.97 = 288Mhz..

I would actually bet money on it :D

evilRuLeZ, how bout taking off the heat spreaders, see what happens, if it actually helps out your overclock.

the heat spreaders just trap heat imho

eviLRuLeZ
05-23-2004, 02:27 PM
taking off heatspreaders won't be good I think but i'll test ;)
just have to buy components tomorrow to do vddr mod.. i didn't have any time to do it until now.. :/

My A-data have been up and running 273Mhz 2.5-3-3-6@3.2V... But was CPU limited...

Now they are runnin 2.5-3-3-6@253Mhz... They wont even boot at lower timings but they are 200% stable...

Tried lowest timings@200Mhz didnt work...
