Since last year i couldn't pass the 250 FSB Wall with my intel system. Every memory with windbond ch-5 chips got this problem!

Old System:
Corsair TWINX1024 3200 LL Rev. 1.2 ~ 390 €
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
Intel Pentium 2.6c @ 3.25GHz = DDR400 (5:4)

233 FSB - 1:1 - 466MHz - 3-4-4-8-8 - 2.85v - memtest unstable
250 FSB - 5:4 - 400MHz - 2-2-3-6-8 - 2.55v - memtest stable
258 FSB - 3:2 - 344MHz - memtest unstable

New System:
MDT 2x512 DDR400 ~ 200 €
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
Intel Pentium 2.6c @ 3.57 GHz = DDR450

233 FSB - 1:1 - 466MHz - SPD - 2.85v - memtest stable
240 FSB - 1:1 - 480MHz - SPD - 2.85v - memtest unstable
275 FSB - 5:4 - 450MHz - SPD - 2.85v - memtest stable
292 FSB - 5:4 - CPU is topped!

The MDT Riggs are the burner and cost only 200 €'s! They can run 466MHz with 2.85v memteststable!

Wonderfull...

Very nice results, even with some cheaper ram. (saw the topic at HWLuxx ;) )
What timings did they run?

And, Welcome to Xtreme.:toast:

Thanx Man, i post this topic in every forum i now. The SPD Timings are 2.5 - 4 - 4 - 8 and now i run it @ 2.5 - 2 - 3 - 5 / 2.85v. In the next days a member of overclockers.at mods my mainboard with a V-Core Drop & Vdimm Mod. I can't mod this because i have 2 left hands. ;)

A lot of people in different forums got this problem with ch-5 rams and most this guys didn't know that the rams are the terminating factor. I hope to help all the 250 FSB freaks out there. :)

nice man! i know what you went through with the gig of ch-5, got some myself :D

but make sure u really juice your vdimm up.
how much will the mod give u?

It's a 3.2v Mod.

I've reached the next step DDR466 memtest stable @ 2.55v / 2.5 - 2 - 3 - 5 / PAT:enabled / infinite / 64usec

3.2? why not more?
im sure my ram would like 3.4 or more :)

though many other ch-5 owners seem to hit a wall at 3.1

Are the Riggs with high voltage and low latencies memtest stable?

dunno, but sure think so.
anyway, who needs a perfectly stable rig?

dont forget there are other ways to test stability:

btw, do u use memtest for dos, or this one:

I use memtest86 3.1 for DOS!

For a fast XP test, i prefer Clockgen in Kombination with Prime95 (Torture RAM Test).

i have the feeling that prime is not very effective in testing ram, though being the best cpu tester by far.

At first i test the ram with prime and if it's stable i test it with memtest86. Prime lets you see very fast if your riggs stable or not stable.
