Im thinking about buying the new Pentium 3.0 HT 1mb cache.. is it worth the money or what should i buy? plz post some links... (if someone has the time to put together a system for about 800USD:-)
Presscots (1mb cache p4 ) are hotter than Northwood - u should take that in mind - if u still think on a presscot - what other parts u need ?

a 3.0E Prescott is an awesome buy. a great number crunching processor because of 1mb of L2 cache, and SSE3 for future software optimiztions to help speed up performance. i found a good site here called Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-175&depa=0). They sell 3.0E for only measly $216 usd.! OEM

p4c for air cooling and h20
p4e for phase change
im very dissapointed in the heat output i get on my prescott.
i knew it would be bad but not this bad.im an amd recent convert and used to alot of heat too.
my precott runs 3.5ghz @1.4vcore and i have decent air cooler.
im planning phase change soon and +4ghz should be a breeze.

I think you should buy P4 2400- 2800, and overclock it. So you have not small performance and some free money.
Also i think, that prescott is just very hot iron!!!!!

Just get a plain 3.0c, clock for clock they're faster then the prescotts, and they're less trouble overall.
The ddr you've selected could/will limit you to a maximum of 250mhz FSB to a maximum of 270mhz FSB **reguardless of the dividers** That may not be a big deal to you if you're planning to run stock cooling.
It'd be nice if your sig was in english, as this is an english forum.

very good choice, you won't regret it Datachild. the Prescott 3.0E 1mb is better with 1m Super PI than Northwood. 90nm allows low vcore 1.4volts! also, Intel will implement NX(non-execute) bit in future prescott cores with EM64T(x86-64).
NX bit allows buffer overflow protection against viruses and worms. EM64T allows more than 4gb memory address.
