I dunno, i like the WW, its still a great block... just shorten the double tubing between the WW and Y, and you should be able to go with tube instead of the 90 degree.

the angle of the y makes it so that i can't make it short with out a harsh bend. but its not needed any more since i just got a storm. got it pretty cheap on ebay. its rev 1 though.

In Europe/Belgium some cars have this paint, but I think it's more popular in the US :woot:.

Now a close up on the H20 setup with UV-blue fluid additive;)

The paint is called Chromalusion, but it's very expensive :slapass:, but the effect is great.

Had fun. Didn't bring temps down much at idle but made a hugh difference under load. Now I can play FarCry at the Very High video settings available and the card temp never goes over 42c, where as before the settings were at High and I would hit over 70c. I'm gonna replace all the worm drive clamps with the same black plastic reusable ones that came with the water blocks, they are pretty sturdy. Very pleased with the performance of my choice of components: CPU WB - Swiftech Storm, GPU WB Swift MCW60, Pump-Swiftech MCP 655, Radiator-Thermochill PA120.3 w Panaflo U1 Ultra Performance fans x 3.
Benchmarks so far:
Item Idle Load
CPU 40c 49c Prime95
GPU 35c 42c FarCry

lol @ the reserator!

edit: if you take a tube that the reserator just fit in, and put a sanyo denki 120x38mm fan on topp sucking air trough the reserator. that would cool it enough!

still loud but very effective, and much simplier!

Well I finally got around to taking some pics of the new "RiG". First water setup I've done. Performs pretty good so far. All black drives. Custom 80mm blowhole and fillport, I wish I would have got some better photos of the two and the custom MaXThReAT LED name plate. Two black lights on the bottom, they heat up the case more than I thought. I keep en off unless I'm showing off.

Have 3 Koolace and storm waterblocks. One thing I discovered about the storm is the system has to be extra clean - I didn't have enough Antifreeze and throw in some junk in my rad and the little holes will gunk up. Hydrogen Peroxide works pretty good cleaning out the gummie stuff.:)

Nice jrw but where is yur HD mounted? I don't see it.

It has some rather nasty mechanical noise (Seagate Barracuda), so it's usually lying on the bottom below the video card on a piece of soft foam rubber.

On another note:
I've found a really clever way to mount memory and mosfet cooling (air). Will take a few pics when I have the time...

Very true. The cable-work is the real challenge packing a 120.2 rad inside a case THIS small.

Im benching quite a bit, so you'll see a lot of fans in there as well :toast:

You should really consider different blocks for the cards on the next upgrade, also a different chipset block would give you better results.
You could also use that to upgrade to bigger tubing and mod that plex top on the DDC ;)

Here's my first attempt at water cooling i have already made a post about it not being powerful enough for my 805 but it's just to wet my appetite for it and i'll be updating this setup very soon. Sorry for the low quality of the pics i took them on my phone. The cpu block is an XSPC X2O which is quite good for a cheap block, 4ft of 1/2" OD tubing, 120mm rad with dual papst ngn 100cfm+ fans, eheim 600lph aquarium pump and i use a bucket for my res :p: . cost <£30

Most of the heat gets carried away from the "hot spots" and a bit smart flow keeps the the hardware cool enuf.

The only pc there that runs above 40 on a hot day is "STORM'D".... but my son runs the 775 P4 and 6600GT overclocked! and the Single BIX does struggle ( have plans to upgrade to a BIX2 like the HP1 mod.

All the mods incorp passive or active flow under the covers! i recently did an aircooled server with cover as well.. this PC with 6 x 250+gig hdds would die without smart cooling.

thanx again guys :) aprreciate the comments.

Why did you switch your GPU to air cooled ?

Heh, I was going to sell it. The big problem I found with the DD NV-68 block was weight - it twisted the card so it's really difficult to set it up so GPU / block contact is always good, even with the thumbscrews tight. I stuck a "prop" between block and case floor which helped, but it wasn't great.

I might put the block back on; the other reason for going back to air was to give the CPU more cooling. As it turns out, the diff is about 2C, so hardly worth the effort. Perhaps a Maze GPU block would work out better?

yngndrw
06-17-2006, 02:01 PM
Well I use a Maze 4 GPU and it cools my card fine. I've found that removing the heat from the core cools down the memory anyway, so I doubt a full cover card would do a lot.

Infact my GPU core didn't gain anything from watercooling, but changing the RAM cooler from stock to Swifty RAM sinks and removing the core's heat got me an extra 50-100Mhz on the memory.

I never thought about the weight with them full cover blocks, it's a good point though.

A T-Line should ALWAYS be positioned just before the pump.

The purpose of the T-Line is to provide a surplus of water to the pump so that it performs its optimal.

In other words. Change loop order RIGHT NOW. :)

well my pump is already a little too powerful for my taste. it tends to squeeze my tubes. and what do you mean by a surplus. if i cap the tline and its a closed circuit, everything will be getting the same air, and if i made my tline at the pump, do you see where it is? i could never get the air out of the line that way

well it wont be much difference when the loop is full. its only when filling, that the line its better to have in front of the pump. the t-line restriction doesnt change from one position in a setup to another. so just leave it where it is!

Some very nice work on here. I just realized there was a thread just for WC'd cases... This was posted earlier in the Computer Cases gallery... It's probably just as fitting here.

Voodoo PC MESA case, drilled for blowholes up top, everything inside has been upgraded from what Voodoo originally put in it. Not quite as creative and not as much effort as some of the cases on here though!

curios..how many radiator u have there??
one 3x120mm & one 2x120mm??
How many pumps, waterblock?

Cause i'm curious whether a G5 pump is sufficient enough to power
An Apogee, MCW60, MCW30, BI GT240 + BI Gt120...
Need advice and comment from pro here...
still in process building my own set...
reason i get a GT240 & Gt120 to able squeeze all in a midle tower case.wit mod of course.

There are 2 radiators, 1 3x120 and 1 2x80, The cpu is on the 3x120, the NB and VGA are on the 2x80, 2 loops drawing from the same resivor.
This system could easily run with just the 3x120, I just like to go overboard!

As far as the pump, I have no experience with the g5. hopefully someone else can answer that one.

Hee hee, my foggy tubes in Coolsleeves... Had to use them on 1 tube, so I had to put them on all of them for consistency. Foggy tubes is well... simply not cleaning it out correctly. I'm flushing the system and redoing it when my new block arrives.

Hello.
The head of the blocks are made of black delrin, and the base are made of copper.
Greetings.

I <3 Voodoo cases. I know they are based on Lian-Li's...but they are still the sex.

I also like the meshing at the top of your case Staucher, that is quite cool. What did you use for it?
