@ Sveinbra
I like. I want to mount my dual120mm rad in the top of my stacker like you have your triple but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing it.

Cover the top with masking-tape, measure out where you need to cut the hole, take out your Dremel multitool and cut away! :)

Of course you need to remove everything inside the case first.. :) And you might have to put the PSU in the bottom of the case if you dont have room for it at the top, after you install the dualrad, but that is easy too..
You just drill out the "ribbits" that is holding the "PSU cover/frame" in place and remove it..

Hope this helps a little... ;)

My first WC job! The WC is complete but I'm missing some black zips, my 4pin molex's, and a UV light. Otherwise the case is finished.

probably, but I like to turn off the other fans and leave that one on low. Plus the tension from the cpu to GPU card was kinda high, so I opted to put that pressure somewhere else.

yesh two different loops... 1 for the CPU cooled by a TC HE120.2mm rad and the other loop cools everything-else inside the rig on an evo360

Talk about over kill!!

And I thought I was nuts building a rig with a PA120.3 and a PA160.... The closer to ambient, the better.

Reverse the fan/shroud to pull air from casefront -> rad ->into case, will exhaust throught bottom back just FINE :D (I speak from personal experience :fact: (pats V2000 w/PA160)) And if you think that is fun, try doing the same setup in a v1000

This is my first attemt at water cooling. I guess it does ok. 1000mhz OC on CPU with load temps of 38-40c.
Exos 2, DD MAZE4GPU x2, DD TDX.
I'm up for suggestions.
Is anybody modding the Exos 2?
I'd like a better pump!

Yeah, that was nicely done, but it's a V1000, not hte V2000 that I have. I could probably do the same, but I need the HD racks in the bottom. It'll have to stay the wya I have it for now.

lets hope i can get some money together so finish the monster off, anywho, heres the pics :) enjoy:

Wow, that looks a lot like my PC :P
Did you copy from me? lol
you can check mine on my sig below

Nice job
Only difference is that my case is smaller, and the tubeings are thinner (1/2")

What a coincidence, Im also getting the same Saitek Red Special Edition keyboard in a few days.
A long time ago I had a Red Deck keybard, but I RMAed it because it was having some issues. When I holded several keys in a series, others would stop working  They said it was unlucky to get a keyboard with a bad driver and that the newer keyboards wouldnt have this problem.

Im also probably going to take off my cr@#$y red CCFL cover and wrap the bulb with red candy wrapping paper so it looks more red. :D

Im thinking about adding the following to my PC:
- Red Saytek keybard $50
- x1900xtx $450 (There was a offer like this in NewEgg. Ill be hunting for another one)
- Maze4 block $50

i´ve always been a bit skeptic about these fms:)

but when i get 80 euros i´ll buy a t-balancer KTC|edition with some inlines, then i can read out my watertemp the first time:rolleyes:

i also can skip the crappy smartguardian fan-regulation with that thing

i´ve got one more question:

which is the best cooler for an x1800 (gto, when it is avaiable)

i´m thinking of getting a 2nd cpu-cooler and drill out the mounting, then it would fit onto graphics cards (mounting will look so (http://img.clubic.com/photo/00123526.jpg), only newer cooler rev. with finer canals and a better looking top (looks like this internally (http://www.hartware.de/media/reviews/500/4.jpg))

are there any other watercoolers wich are as flat as this one and performs better?

i only know core-temp of my opty 170 which stay at 31 degree under full load, i am too poor for a water-sensor:(

Ive got a t-balancer. I cut a thin slit into some tubing and slid in a thin thermal probe. I get H2O temps on samurize now ^^"

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92628

Do you mean waterblock? MCW60 or MP-1. That doesent look like it has the power to cool an X1800.

hmm if it has the power to keep a opty 170 @ 2.6 gig /1.45 volts at 32 ° under full load it should have enough for an x 1800 won´t you think?

it´s not very vood visible on this images but it has a lot of fins (hmm i´ll make some pics when i get it out but it´s as powerful as a nexxos xp and has nearly no flow reduction (well it´s nearly the most powerful cooler which is produced in europe:))

i like that sensor inside this tube :D

it is pretty flat about 1.5 cm but the cooling-space is huge due to it´s 46 parallel fins that´s why i want to use it on graphics-cards, with 90 ° fittings it will only take 1 extra slot;)

And besides, they would be long enough to be able to stay in there I think... but might give it a try...

@ 4Qman: try to put this thermochill onto top (the dual!), that will give you back 5 drive bays and put this single to the backside, you´ll need one fan less and will have nearly no temp growings (you can fit the dual internally too!)

i´ll get a new triple on monday and i´ve got plans to fit it internally on top ba turning the power supply 90° and put the power cord onto the right side (will also make it moreeasy to plug in this damn modular power cords (i´m starting to hate them:( )

hopely my dad packs out his for brushing my case front black (this silver looks ugly:mad: ). i also have to buy a stainless steel plate for my case top :D

u think power cord to top, right or left is the best?

first i thought right would be the best, but with a bit more modding i could hang it onto top what would look cooler. furthermore i´m a bit afraid of this thin aluminium walls so top mounting into a steel-plate would be much better:rolleyes:

I decided to upgrade to a PA120.2 and mount the rad outside the case to improve cooling. I am really happy with the performance of this set-up - 4deg lower CPU temps and much better case air-flow.
(Excuse the messy wiring, I need to pick-up some more sleeving and do some more tucking.)

Just got her setup - Still need to do cable management. Thinking of getting another PA160.1 in the bottom (Maybe something else...suggestions) to feed the GPU's and maybe a Chipset block to bring noise down. Do you guys think the Lang D5 will do all this or will i be in need of an upgrade......????

A 50Z will give better temps with a PA160, because of its much lower heat dump.

If you must cool the NB, get the MCW30 or an Eddy_EK, everything else ive seen is much too restrictive. Not like a NB needs much cooling anyway.

Either pump should do Storm + 2x Maze 4 + MCW30 ok... you can upgrade to 2x 50Z or an iwaki if you want, but if youre that much after performance then i have to question why you want to harm your loop's performance with a NB block in the 1st place.

If silence matters that much to you, just slap another PA160 and the MCWW30 and be done with it, dropping in a bigger pump to counteract the nb block restriction is a bit like saving your breath to cool your soup ;)

for a silent pump go with a Laing DDC- and get a plexi top-

Looking good, but dude, cable management!

LOL...Yeah tell me about it and thats what i do as part of my job...HP Server rack building.

I allways throw things in.....then tweak after....Cable Man is allways last to get done.

OK so NB cooler is out....but i do want to throw another Rad in so i can cool the second GPU down.

Been watching the temps and when in this series... RAD -> Pump -> CPU -> GPU1 -> GPU2 -> RES....I am getting a difference under idle and load of 4 to 6C higher on GPU2.

So my idea is to feed the GPU2 with its own RAD.

How will this affect flow with the D5 in or should i uprate pump. Need to be able to buy in the UK.

Thanks

Veo que estas usando una 50z a 13,8v que tanto mejora? no acorta la vida util?
Abandonaste el phase change?
I see you are using a 50z@13.8v, is that not risky for the pump?
Missed you from the vapor forum

13.8v is fine for it... gives it the best performance. though it probably wont last as long as it will @ 12v, but *shrug*. It'll give you nearly the same temps as an MD-20 like that...

Well I've tried to get really good temps and so I ordered an Alphacool CORA 442 passive rad too. The temps are quite impressive now and thats what I wanted.
But I'm looking forward to replace my DDC+ with a D5.

creidiki
04-26-2006, 10:31 AM
Why? The DDC+ is the better pump... more head, less heat dump, quieter...

Shakermaker
04-26-2006, 10:34 AM
Alphacool has new Revision od the D5. So I'd like to test it.
So we will see which pump is the better one, but thanks for your advise.

creidiki
04-26-2006, 10:54 AM
Oh, the vario. Well, i guess itll be interesting to see what gives you the best temps, but even if they managed ti give it the same head as a DDC+ with top inlet, i dont see how they can solve the rather high heat dump.

I mean, if its like 5-6W higher than the old D5 itll be nearly as high as an Iwaki RD-30, and thats got 33ft head.

Keep us updated.

MaxxxRacer
04-26-2006, 10:59 AM
Shakermaker, adding another rad will decrease your performance.. your system is already insanely restrictive and adding more equipment to it wont help you.

btw, you ned to add ALOT of corrosion inhibitor to your loop if you havnt already done so. You have VERY large surfaces of aluminum and copper intermingling and it will end poorly if you dont prepare for it.

Shakermaker
04-26-2006, 11:01 AM
Thanks creidiki.
I'll check it out.
Radical_53 is a friend of mine and together we are going to test some pumps. After that we will have some nice results and based on that I will come to a conclusion.

@Darth Water
I use Water Wetter and I have no problems with corrosion. But thanks for your comment.

Radical_53
04-26-2006, 11:39 AM
Maybe you could swap the passive rad for another active one... just a thought. That would also shorten your tubing which looks quite long here and there... maybe there's some room left for optimization.
Still I like the style, looks very clean with the matching silver components and such.

I suggest you just ADD another DDC+ instead of replace. You are seriously at the limit in terms of pumping power with all those hardware. Adding another one will push this pump or the D5 over its limits. You need TWO pumps to get good temps. Use Pentosin since ur mixing all kinds of metal.

(wasnt some to come with it?) i tried using hte intake fan holes but it wasnt worth it hmmmz

Extra HDD cooling maybe?
But I mean, how can it be cooling anything if it's flat against the harddrive

creidiki

Sweet fek all, especially as the top of the hard drive is very thin, and heat in a drive travels through the base, then the sides, and finally the top...

Alex, very nice setup as well but can't you push the tube a bit further on that T- piece?

If I honestly felt like completely obliterating my hands after having trouble getting it over the fittings for the blocks, I would have gladly done so. But putting it on that far was a nice walk in the park, so I chose that route. I will probably push it on a bit more shortly. :slap:

Thought I would add my system to the thread. You guys have great systems. My components are in my sig. Spacing was a bit tight and I had to modify my old school Antec case a bit like moving the power supply down in front. The front bezel does fit nicely since I cut a hole for the power cord run, but the PSU overheats with it on. The airflow for the case has been completely reversed as well with air coming in from the rear and exhust through the front and top.

Average pump + swiftech MCW6000 (cpu) + DD Maze4 Acetal (gpu). 5C better than big typhoon and around 50C! better than stock x1900xtx cooler. With triple rad and better pump there would be bigger difference obviously

Thanks for your compliments, appreciate it. Its a UV blue dye.. If no UV source is present, the water looks simply clear. IF u look at the bottom left corner of the pic, u can see that the tube gradually goes back to clear.

I dunno, i like the WW, its still a great block... just shorten the double tubing between the WW and Y, and you should be able to go with tube instead of the 90 degree.
