Not a patch on some of the art pieces in this thread, but here's my latest build.

First off apologies for the crappy phone camera pics. Secondly apologies for the excuses and lack of photography skills. I tried to tidy them up in photoshop, but the official term for this process is called 'Polishing a turd'.

Just made the move to sub zero. A lot of head scratching involved trying to figure out how I'd get the contents of my TJ-07 in to this tiny Lian-Li P007, but I think I got there.

First off from the crappiest of my camera phone pics the only in progs I took. Somewhere to mount my Rad, and get a bit of extra airflow out of the case. A bit of dremeling:D

Just adding this last shot. The pump and res tucked away in the drive bay. Just noticed the foam in my res, need to sort that out lol:D

a potential mod could be to tap the side of that res near the top for an inlet (water flowing from the radiator) or get one that already has it like the EK. it would eliminate the long tubing run going down to the bottom, and would make the loop OH so clean.

EK res: http://ekwaterblocks.com/shop/images/RES2_rev1.jpg

again, i love your setup -- it gives me many ideas for my v1000

Forgot to mention the tubing is 7/16 Id on 1/2 OD barbs. Its a very tight fit so i don't believe
there's a need for clamps. The system was leak tested for 24 hours too.

Personally I'd still add some clamps just in case as when the water warms up the tubes soften and become more likely to pop off. A couple of posts after you someone did the same with 3/8 over 1/2... I think he might be okay without clamps

I think i will. It does look nicer without them for the photos tho, but thats all over now. I'll just start with zip ties and if i get concerned i'll whack on some clamps.

very cool...thanks for the feedback...i certainly have a new appreciation for all of the fine builds here...pictures just don't capture the amount of work that goes into one of these builds.

I'm glad i've been able to inspire some ideas.

that is a good mod idea.
i stayed away from the ek res b/c of the cyclone issue, but if i went with a top inlet, that could work. how full would the res have to be to have the inlet on the top and output on the bottom?

This is my second try on WC and i failed miserably. I was in a big hurry to get this thing ready to lan party in finland, called assembly. Didn't wan't to go there with laptop

When I get home from there I'm going to rebuild it once again. I already have MCW30 block to use with NB. I also need to make some kind of HDD mounts as I have more HDD's to be mounted. Somehow I need to make airholes to sides of the case, airflow sucks now :( AND lot's of other things I need to do differently.
Funny thing is that when I looked others WC builds I liked the black exterior, silver alloy interior. But now when I did it, it does not look good to me :\ I think I need to paint interior matte black (opinions?).

Just wanted to share so I could get some opinions of my build so I would not do the same mistakes again. so please comment ^_______^

If it's got silver end caps, I'll guarantee that they are aluminum. AC did a change over to the POM (Delrin) shortly after I got mine, many retailers had the older aluminum ones long after the switch which is evident in the fact that one got one and they made the switch like 2 yrs ago. Unfortunately, many retailers don't understand the products they sell and more or less copy/paste the manufacturers product page without really checking to make sure the product they are selling even matches the description.

Waterlogged...i know that made sense when you posted it, but i'm not following, sorry. <:-) Are you saying there's a connection between AC products and Tt ?

There's no direct connection, they just behave the same. I bought one of these despite knowing it had aluminum but quickly came back to my senses and yanked it out after ~1 months use. The only liquid that touched it was PC ICE and water. After about another 4 months of sitting on top of a box full of spare parts, it did this all by its self. Not really sure why the hell I'm holding on to it though.

Asus finally wised up and made the block out of Cu instead of Alu. The new heatpipe system uses Cu, the old is Alu.

Now only if we could get them to change to 1/2" barbs.

was playing around with the tubing, and found the little clips on the bottom of the Zalman case, which BTW was for HDDs, clamps onto the 10/8mm really well... and frankly IMO it looks much better then if I were to just have a short tubing stright from GPU > NB :D

I'm tempted to buy something from aquatuning too, becourse we don't have that good shops in finland. I didn't even find right size screw-on fittings.
Found them on aquatuning though, they cost 5,99 EUR/piece in there.

So confused on what to do, got the TFC Xchanger 360 Triple in my Cosmos S.
The radiator is so big that it won't/can't fit under the hood of the case. So my
Noctua fans are blowing heat away instead of blowing air from underneath.

The thing is the TFC Xchanger 360 Triple is the best radiator, but now it's not
cooled properly. My second choice would have been the 360 thing Black Ice with the
Noctua's underneath and on top under the roof for optimal cooling.

Any suggestions?

If you only want to buy those, you can e-mail aquatuning and they might send them to you in a letter. When I tried ordering them through the normal shop, I was quoted €27,50 for shipping, but this might be because Switzerland isn't in the EU.

I wish you luck in finding those compression fittings here in Finland, they do sell em in Coolputer.fi etc. but biggest size you'll get is 11/9mm and your tubing looks more like 3/8" or 1/2" it's a bummer we get so limited amount of good WC parts here.

I know this ain't a sales forum but if you are interested in some Feser 1/2" ID 3/8" OD compression fittings like these http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/images/large/Picture%20200.jpg I have 12 pieces that became useless after I downgraded tubes for a mATX build. But why not use the inlet on top?
That will give the best performance!

2 pumps = who cares :p: Plus the Koolance ram coolers are restriction central. If they have enough rad area then all will manage.

Thanks for the compliment. Before I had water, I was using a Tuniq tower 120. On air the max oc I could get was 3.4ghz. At that speed I got about 62c at full load. After I went to water, it gets up to 49c at full load. Also, now I got it to be stable at 3.6 without too much effort. At 3.6 it gets up to 54c under full load.

Very nice! Excellent first watercooling build. Show us some pics with the sidepanel on.

Sorry for the delay...just one of those weeks. Also based on WL feedback:

If it's got silver end caps, I'll guarantee that they are aluminum.

...I confirmed with AC that the res does contain aluminum. I drained the loop the day after WL's post. While I wait on a new res, here are some pics before i drained the loop and removed the res:

Hey sheriff_deadeye, i like how you moded the PSU from back to the front. think if i got that case, i can fit an HX1000 up there?

The 550 is : 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 5.5"(L); 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 140mm(L)
the HX1000 is: 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 200mm(L)

I also moved the hard drive cage and rotated it 180 degrees. Once you remove one of the two cages in the v1000 and decide to move the other one, you can fit the longer power supplies - front or back. I used the standard lian li psu mounting plate to mount the psu.

Sheriff, Where’s the PSU exhaust fan located? Is it blowing the hot air towards the hard drives?

The PSU intake fan is on the bottom and the exhaust is towards the front of the case, away from the drives. When i moved it to the front, i also rotated the PSU 180 degrees since normally the exhaust would be towards the back of the case.

Even though the PSU is not blowing on the drives, there is a lot of heat build up around the drives. I have an 80mm fan where the psu used to be in the back, but there's not enough air flow to cool down the drives. I'm trying to improve the air flow around the 80mm. If that doesn't work, i'll have to cut a fan hole in the side panel.

the rad fans are:low speed deltas (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12trbllows1.html) (they are really quite while pushing alot of air)
and the exhaust fan is :one of these painted black (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=69&products_id=3879) (louder than the deltas)
Awesome stuff guys. CM's looks crazy pretty, Bryan yours is very classy. Keep it up

ID of that cpu block tube is 3/16' inch, (5/16 OD). i have a gpu block and a radiator that size also so i didn't want to bother buying more stuff.

tube size doesn't make too huge of a difference anyway though. (not enough to make me spend more money)

so no one likes my rig or what? at least give me some criticism.

I presume u'r talking about the top of the Apogee GTX for the aluminium ? In this case no worries about the corrosion

The housing is CNC machined out of billet aluminum and receives two plating's for a lifetime protection against corrosion: electroless nickel plating (MIL-C-26074E grade B) and Zinc Cobalt plating (ASTM B 840-99 grade 6)

Nice build!

I know it seems like it should be easy to create those connectors, but can you explain how you did it? I must be missing something as i have tried it, but can't get the connector to press onto the wire. If i try it on the wire without stripping it first, it won't press on, but if i do it on bare wire it doesn't grab hold.

Thanks!

I just used a flat screwdriver to push the wires in to the connectors. It wasn’t difficult at all, you just must use more force ;)

I'll probably post more later but right now im really tired lol :)

This isn't my computer by the way and i'm not 100% sure on the specs or what has been used on this setup!

Oh and another thing ive just noticed is, the SLi bridge has come off on the top card. LOL :S

Chris1985
08-11-2008, 01:24 PM
isn't that a 3-way sli bridge?

cause i do think the upper card is connected to the middle bridge and the bottom card to the bottom slot

or i just need glasses

btw, if there was a Zotac and Intel-logo on the front, it definatly was Coolmeister's project

PS. I was at i34! Emma (the model there) got me in the coolermaster race round the arena - anyone who saw that know I was the loud girl who ran around like a moron witht he other 2 guys screaming abotu cooler master :D
