@ Waterlogged : It WAS some form of old Chenbro case...Check my basic work log. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=193989

Thanks. :( Too bad I can't find it anywhere anymore. It'd make a nice addition to my YY-0221.:yepp:

Yeah, I think it looks way cleaner in some loops. Your build looks pretty clean, and plenty of further tinkering potential.

Most impressed by the Pwr/rst-buttons, that is just lovely. And btw; is that starchart accurate? Is "starchart" even the correct translation?

There are the constellations Capricornus, Libra, and Ursa Major. They are correct, but the rest of the stars are just random.

iandh
You need to tell me right now sir where you got those lights (Constellations) cause that is HOT. Nice job!

They actually are fiber optics lit by white LED's. If you look in the worklog section of this forum you can see exactly how I did it.

@ iandh: I like what you did with the Scythe controller and front plate! Very nice

Yeah, that turned out pretty nice. The cool thing is that if I choose to in the future, the front is pre-cut for a MCR220.

It was easier then bringing another PC from across the house, and it is the only laptop I can use until I get my new one. Only problem was that the Eee only outputs 1024x768.

iandh, your work is pure skillz. Alltough I don't really understand what's with those colored stripes in the frontpanel and other parts? I mean, they look nice but the color choise is bit weird for my eyes at least.

Despite of that, I am a big fan of such a craftmanship.

Yeah, its a factory modded Eheim, this pump is called HPPS + ;)
Really lownoise and has enough power.

Its 10/8 mm tubing but i like it, not a fan of those 1/2 " sausage-tubes :p:

I was planning (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=194205) a very similar setup but I hessitated when told my eheim 1048 wouldn't have enough juice for 2 rads and 3 blocks. And you have yours with 4 blocks and 10/8 tubing
Are you getting good temps with that? Any problems?
BTW love that murderbox style front

Winni
07-15-2008, 10:58 AM
Its a modded eheim, its called Innovatek HPPS + 12V,here the link : ->

http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p1200_Innovatek-HPPS-Plus---12V-Pump.html

The flow in the system is not a problem even with the restrictive EK Supreme, the water in the res is always blubbering strong.

The Q6600 @3,4 Ghz and 1.325V is 35°C@ Idle and 46-47°C @ load.
The 8800GT @ 700/1030 Mhz ist idle @36°C abd load @ 44°C.

The components :

1 x 120mm Radiator
2 x 240mm Radiators
1 x Innovatek HPPS + 12V Pump
1 x Heatkiller NB
1 x Heatkiller SB
1 x Heatkiller Mosfet
1 x Zalman 8800Gt Fullcover
1 x EK Supreme
1 x Caper Corp Coolpelx 10 Reservoir

Pump -> 120mm Radiator -> 240mm Radiator -> EK Supreme -> Heatkiller Northbridge block -> Heatkiller Southbridge block -> 240mm radiator ->
Zalman Fullcover 8800GT Block -> Heatkiller Mosfet Block -> Cape Corp 10 Reservoir

EDIT: It doesnt matter which tubing you have, everything over 10/8mm does not increase the flow or makes better temps.
The same goes for the pump, ist enough when the water circualtes with 60L/ hour, everything more does not make better temps.
( an exception are blocks like the D-Tek Fuzion, there the higher flow makes better temps )

Its one of the best AND cheapest boxes existing, it won much reviews against other boxes. The price here in germany is about 30 Euros.

@ Disruptfarm

Thx. Actually it is red Fesser coolant but I think it turns out orange now and then due to the flash of the photocamera.

I would appreciate it when you would take a look at the problem I outlined here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=178987). This problem is related to the coolant turning orange / brown when putting a red cold cathode on it (seems like it has a similar effect with the flash).

@ Fragger

Maybe orange coolant would be a niche market for the dutch watercooling community. :D Btw how the hell did you see it was Fesser coolant?!?

Copper chamber with the aluminum "extensions" down the side mating up to it? I've always worried about those water cooled ram because of the AL issue (and hence steered clear), so this set of notes has me curious. I'm only asking to know more, not to stir up anything :)

Just changed my case to the Rocketfish and did some fun modding. Did the side window myself, the top mount for the 320 rad and the loop got redone. I will have it going to my MCR60 when I upgrade.

The UV lights actually work during the daytime with light too, but not enough light and the flash messes it up. Fesser blue UV Die, and it is sure as heck UV reactive.

Thats a awsome rad....Just dont know if it worth $280.00 (176.19 EUR = 279.031 USD). It would have to a have a decent improvment over my PA120.3.

German to English Conversion

From titanic scale and performance are our new MORA-2 radiators. The data speak for themselves, about 24 metres of copper pipe and 3.5 square meters per MORA plate were used. The cooling water flows through three parallel rows of 60 tubes. The slats of MORAs are geared specifically to a passive optimized. The huge surface of the Radiators and the efficient geometry are extremely good cooling performance guarantees. The three parallel rows of pipe circuit provides, in spite of very large surface, for a low flow resistance. Standardized G Inch thread and several fixing holes or thread to make the installation a breeze. The surface of all MORAs is black. Our absolute leader of MORA-2 radiators is the MORA-2 PRO, this has all the features of the Core version plus a complete
Stainless steel case. Using a flexible modular system can adapt MORA everyone, whether it is or as PRO-core version, with or without fan aperture, everything fits together. The fans turns an aperture MORA-2 is a real cooling power plant, equipped with a maximum of 9 fans can heat whole cluster and multi-processor systems cool.

Technical data:

Material: Copper pipes, strips of aluminum, stainless steel casing
External dimensions (length x wxh): 428 x 388 x 57mm
Weight: about 2800g
Pressure Tested: 20 Bar
Surface: black-coated
Connection: 2x thread G 1 / 4 inch

Delivery:

1x Mora 2 Pro
4x screws M4 x 8mm
4x transparent M4 x 20mm steel, galvanized

well there won't be a improvement if u use it just for a cpu.
but if u take cpu + cf/sli etc there will quite be an improvement due to its size.
think aquatuning delivers worldwide but u have to ask for it. 153,38€ incl vat (mora2 pro+fan mounting) and ~129€ without vat.

Epicenter
07-22-2008, 07:36 PM
What temps you getting epicentre?

I cannot give exact numbers because Brisbane's on-die temp sensor is screwy. Core temp says ~33.5C idle on both cores and around 45C max load on both cores. If I had to guess it's closer to 43.5C idle, 55C max load. The GPU runs at ~50C at max load. This is with the components at stock speed; at the time of that writing it was overclocked however.

I will probably cut out that grill when I install a Phenom X4, as well as flushing out and refilling the coolant. At present it's 100% stable, silent (except the one non-SE16 HDD) and that is most of what I care about. :D

Stay tuned for my liquid cooled Socket 7 box.

I wouldn't be qualified to speak for Coolermeister, but I'll give it a shot :)

First of all, this is a sponsored build. Therefore, the video cards were provided by Zotac, the manufacturer, and therefore the man may have had influence, but the decision to use GX2s was the manufacturer's.

The GTX280 is very powerful, but the Skulltrail platform does not allow Tri-SLI. I'm not sure which is better.. double GTX280 or dual GX2 (aka quad SLI). Logic would dictate that Quad SLI would rule, but I wouldn't know for sure.

The third reason is visually, Ithink quad SLI looks more intimidating lol :ROTF: Look at those EK nickel plated videoblocks.

You are correct, it is Tygon A-60-G Norprene tubing.

It's expensive as hell, has a terrible bend radius, but it means my loop has 0 maintenance required and I enjoy the industrial look. Plus water leaches out slower than vinyl tubing so I don't have to fill it as often.

slim142
07-23-2008, 09:44 PM
If its sponsored, then I cant say anything.

Now, Tri-SLI doesnt always mean "gain". SLI is what will bring the most performance and doesnt need 1.2k psu and you save space on your case. True, Quad SLI looks sick too, is known to perform the same as Tri-SLI but I would always prefer the new tech so I think GTX 280 would have been better :D

ANyways Quad looks good, and btw, I cant stop looking at that build xD

The third reason is visually, Ithink quad SLI looks more intimidating lol :ROTF: Look at those EK nickel plated videoblocks.

Thanks.

as for the res, it does make a slight splashing noise.. but its not too loud... I could probably just add more water so its up to the top to prevent this.. but it doesnt really bother me:)

Yes, very easy, it's just stuck with doublesided tape, just pry it off with a knife or a flathead screwdriver.

callen_1

Cheers for the positive comments guys, really appreciate it.

@ disruptfam, to sleeve the 24-pin (and i hope people don't mind me writing
this here) -

1) i split each individual cable from the others (end to end) while the plastic
heads were still attached.

2) i used an atx tool to remove a single pin from the end going to the mobo.

3) i cut some thick sleeve (approx. 20 cm long) and two pieces of thick
heatshrink and pushed the single "removed" cable through all of it (without
shrinking yet).

4) i then used thin sleeve and thin shrink wrap on the end of the cable and
used a heat gun to secure it (only the thin heat shrink tho)

5) i re-inserted the pin into its place in the plastic head and did the same to
every other pin, 1 by 1, threading each cable through the thick sleeve.

6) finally i used the heat gun to shrink the thick heat shrink arund the thick
shrink wrap to secure it after it was zip tied.

hope that helps

The case is a lian-li PC-A10B and its dimensions from the site are -

215mm x 535mm x 522mm ( W, H, D)

Before i watercooled i loved the case because i like the minimalist design.
But when i first started watercooling i had never modded a case before, so
when i first tried modding i hated the case and thought it was too small -

see -

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/picture.php?albumid=87&pictureid=202

What a f#$%ed up mess!! Although the parts in that system were much
higher end at the time, but i can tell you right now i'd much rather it as it is
now, and in the end it turned out to be a great case (minus the hassle of not
being able to buy a pre built window panel!)

Nice work, though.......

Nope, it isn't they look very similar, but the A10 is shorter and has a different unique layout more similar to that of a TJ07, the rocketfish is alot more like the Lian Li G70. Not trying to diminish the rocketfish or the Lian Li but they aren't the same. Speaking of which I almost got the A10 before I decided on the TJ09 as my next project.

pwolfe, that looks sweet man!

I used a point and shoot for my pics too. you just need to take them in
a naturally bright place without the flash and use a tripod (i bought a
cheap $29 one, it seemed to do the job) and lower the iso as much as
possible.

If people need more advice on how to shoot photos there's a short list of
instructions on the mdpc site. It helped a lot, especilly the tripod tip!

EDIT:  for post #10000 on the 400th page, you were waiting for that
