Here's a quick picture I took of my rig I finally finished. Maybe I'll make a thread with more pictures of the process and all. I had everything prepared for a second loop too, but I'll likely be replacing the GX2 soon, so it will have to wait until I get a new video card.

No, My friend's just take off the lid and change another new lid. Yeah the flowrate increase from 500 to 820l/hour. Of course it's more powerful than the old one from thermaltake. :D

individually sleeving that 24pin ATX connector must of been a PITA.
to be honest, i thought it was going to be a lot more of a pain that it really was.
takes a little determination and confidence!
also, i didnt actually sleeve my PSU. I sleeved an ATX extender for multiple reasons
1)didnt have to sleeve a future psu
2)no chance of messing up PSU
3)A LOT easier to know where the pins go back in! (able to use a multimeter)
PM for details :)

Thx guys,
In the first pic it's the "heart" of the system, in the left it's an automatic rheobus, the mcubed t balancer big ng, at the right the device is call sensor hub, it's allows the connection of two flow meter, some temps sensor and is able to shutdown the system in case of failure. And the two things mounted vertically are called fan amp and control the pump speed.
This is the link to the manufacturer ;)

to be honest, i thought it was going to be a lot more of a pain that it really was.
takes a little determination and confidence!
also, i didnt actually sleeve my PSU. I sleeved an ATX extender for multiple reasons
1)didnt have to sleeve a future psu
2)no chance of messing up PSU
3)A LOT easier to know where the pins go back in! (able to use a multimeter)
PM for details :)

@lyl: just occurred to me...do you also put heatshrinks on the other end of the 1/8" sleeves (the ones closest to the bigger sleeve)?
Well, I dont individually shrink all 24 on both sides. I just used 1" shrink over the whole thing. Shrink is tight enough, im not worried about it unraveling.
The first picture of course was incomplete (didnt have a black connector), but you can see the 1" shrink in the 2nd picture

It took quite a few months, due to lots of problems, but its great to have it finally finished. I'm still not sure if I should get a waterblock for the GX2, step-up to a GTX 280, or something else. I have all the parts for a second loop though, so maybe it will look even better in the future.
I think that is MDPC worthy !
I would be honored to have my rig among those . The slightly-ghetto side panel needs to be replaced, though. I'm going to have another cut by a laser, so I won't need any channel molding.

Can I make one suggestion. I’m not sure if it is possible but I would swap the 2 tubes on the north bridge to avoid the knee between the processor outlet and chipset inlet.
The other option is to rotate the chipset block.

yup thats a very good suggestion and the tubing is real nice...

Wow!!! So many very clean builds! I wish I can mod like some of you guys, very jealous. I have a few questions.
1. Right now I have my pump > cpu > radiator > reservoir and I see most people run from pump > cpu first. Is that going to be a big difference in temp?
2. And also, I am using a D-tek cpu block and MCR320 (brass body & tubes) so is it okay just to distilled water + PT Nuke or will I need anti-corrosion protection? What type of mix is the most simple + safe? Distilled water + PT Nuke?
3. What type of tubes do you guys recommend? I am currently using the Masterkleer 7/16" ID.
Here are some pics of my quick build. I am moving out soon so I will rebuild it when I move out and get new tubes.

Looks good, but what's that strange twist in the tubing, rad -> res O_o
atlxkevinx
06-25-2008, 01:54 PM
Haha, yeah.. I like it. The reason I did that was because I did not want the tubes to rest on top of the other tubes, and it looks bad. I wouldn't think performance would be affected by it.

looks good, just get some neoprene or something under the pump to reduce vibrations to the drive cage..

For your loop it doesn't matter. People have done that for pressure reasons on a multi block loop that has several large restriction points.
Nothing can corrode in your loop.
That tubing is fine. Most people here use Tygon tubing as it doesn't suffer from the plasticiser leech [well as much as other tubing]. You might find that 1/2" ID might give you a better flow rate and subsequently better temperatures but it is best if you read one of the stickied threads on tubing size and the effect on temperature.
Cheers.

So I am about this fire this baby up.
My goals were:
Looks good, great sidewindow appeal but not tacky.
All has to be inside, no external rads.
No wire clutter.
Must run cool and especially quiet, yet allowing for a decent overclock.
the only challenge: How to mount a Thermochill RAD 120.3 into the Lian Li armorsuite without drilling to many 120mm holes into the bottom. I wanted the vertical arrangement to allow the air from the front 3 14cm fans to be utilized.
It is a bit tough to get to the drive bays.....I get there from the front of the case.
See for yourself. Sorry for the wires of the GPU....as I said...not quite finished yet.

Thank you, that means a lot coming from you and your incredibly sexy rigs. I hope to have even a fraction of your modding skills some day.
insane rig @ Raxxath : Just tell me your whereabouts and ill snatch that rig to better safe!
I actually wish I could sell it for as much as I ended up paying for it. All the parts that didn't work out really add up, and being in debt sucks!
Hey Raxxath, mind posting some pics of the A05 internals? :)
The A05 isn't water cooled, so I shouldn't post it here. However, it is somewhat unique in thats its two separate systems in one, separated by that DPDT switch you see on the front. I'll probably post a few pictures in the A05 thread over at [H].
Thanks again for the comments everyone.

Hey guys and gals.
Heres my PC before my GPU blew up in my case (snack crackle pop spark smoke flames!).
The 1 week non stop leak test....
http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/2051/dsc00543ft6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
How it looked when it was nearly finished...
http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/3123/dsc00557iw1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Scores and details of the rig :
- E6750 @ 3.6GHz (W/C with Swiftech Apogee block - 4GHz has been ran but still tweaking)
- 2x 1GB DDR2 1200mhz running at 1:1
- Asus Maximus Forumla SE (W/C)
- 1x Asus 3870X2 (W/C but not OC'd)
- 2x 160GB Seagate Barracudas (RAID O)
- Windows Vista Ultimate (64bit - think I'll go back to 32bit though - been buggy)
- 2x 240mm Swiftech starter kit rads
- Thermaltake Thunderblades reduced to near silence
Temps run around 40c when doing that and 30-32c in Windows with the usual background palava of programs confirmed with Probe II.
Should get some better pictures to be honest :(
Probably going to change case though. There just isn't enough room in there any more and this PC carries alot of painful memories - it was what got me through the roughest of past times.

PSU is weatherstripped to isolate from the inside (air drawn from outside goes right back out)
Rad is weatherstripped to force the hot air down through vent holes
80-120m adapter on another Yate-Loon forces the intake air towards the rad intake (temporary until I make a better duct)

Temporary 120mm until I get Kama-bay or Lian-Li bay,
and the older style 80mm Li-Li bay for my HDD(s)
I have a small concern that the res is too low, and I definitely need taller feet/Li-Li replacement wheels to remove some restriction on the rad exhaust. But, so far it's working great. I haven't been able to get it above 56*C (even at 87*F ambient), but I still need a fan controller to lower the noise.

I was originally thinking too using blue tubing for cooled water and tubing color eventually turning red just before radiator.
Nah, I said. So right now I'm going for clear tubing, badass car-rad and turning my Sonata II totally black with red lights. I'll post a worklog or something later this week, and I'll finally add my baby to this sweet WC case gallery.
And leo_bsb, that orange tubing looks good for me, alltough you'll have to go orange with the rest of your setup too, because those tubings are quite domating. And change that coloured liquid
whatever
