Just a guess but probably because its a pain to maintain a WC system and air cooling products have narrowed the gap.
Extreme OC'ers now use LN regularly for the top benchmarks.
Narrowed the cooling gap, but not the silence gap :D

Ive upgraded my graphics and added it into my loop, changed fluid to some black feser, and sleeved the mobo and gpu power cables since i last posted, any comments?
Very blurry and limited pictures due to a battery shortage :(

Naaah - it's just because I need some of the components for a little air-cooling project. And while I use the new system ... the case is free for BIG BAD MOD-ACTION
It's that simple :yepp:
And because some like it, here we go with another *sigh*

I'm thinking about putting my GPU's in the loop, but that would probably generate too much heat

What are your cooling parts?
I have my Q6600, NB, and 2 3870s in 1 loop, the Q6600 has the Apogee GT, using standard waterblock on the Formula SE, and the 3870s have the MCW60s. Oh yeah, all cooled with a Swiftech 220 rad.
Temps are great, Quad idles around 28C, load around 40 (3.6Ghz), for 4Ghz it idles around 40C, load around 60C. GPU's are around 30C idle, 42-44C load.

Cheers Cyber and everyone for the kind words
That screw is the magnet screw for the door to close onto but that’s not what has deformed the trim - in fact its not really deformed but only my over zealous polishing technique that has rounded the edges so it looks that way :(

hi thought id put mine up since i just finished it. its no where near as nice as some of the others i know, but its the first case ive ever made and it was totally free so im happy with it.
i scored 3 perspex shelves from the gaming area at work and thought it would be a good idea to make a pc out of it. so i joined them up and cut some squares in for fans and for rad.

I see what your talking about. Its really not that bad. If it was I think I would have had a difficult time getting the sli bridge on but it went on easy, and I haven't had any problems so far. I think its just the weight of the block, the thing is very heavy even without anything going through it.

Those GTXs are so long, I'd say that it's just because of the Pic angle. And all WCed SLI set-up bends a bit like that due to full cover WBs. Mine does it too. And my Crossfire set-up i had in the past did the same. Nothing to worry about m8.

Decided to go caseless. It's all a bit messy, yes.
http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/6183/imgp1618zc4.jpg
Had a problem with the tubing (1/16 wall) collapsing with the D5 Vario so had to line it with zip ties. Even with them, I can still only run my D5 at setting 3. However, when holding the tubing to make sure it didn't collapse at setting 5, I saw now temp differences in idle or load.
I'm stumped. Must be that the flowrate isn't the limiting factor for my temps currently.

Hey Cedric!
Is this thing still portable? :D ;)
Greetings to Hong Kong!!!
If by portable you mean a complete inability to even shift it one inch, then yes, it is absolutely portable :D
Well nothing is actually nailed or bolted down so I can slide it across the table. That's some measure of portability.
I'm actually waiting on shroud dimensions for my 160 before I cut into my PC7 so this is merely a temporary solution.
Unfortunately, adding an extra 2 GB to my rig killed my ram OC and am no longer able to run 8x450 :(
And greetings to the land where you live and/or originate from.

The lower PCIe is controller by the southbridge. When I bump the Hyperlink NB-SB from 200mhz to 300mhz I gain 600 marks (3dmark06). I would prefer the upper, NB controlled one. But I'm on the EVGA 680i RMA rollercoaster ride :)

Had this going on 2 years now. It's an E6600 @ 3.6Ghz and X1900XT's (690/800) in X-Fire. Temps are "ok" considering the amount of heat the X1900XT's alone are dumping into the loop - around 58C under TAT.

Yes, but you're using a FuZion - one of the least restrictive blocks available, and also one of the least sensitive to flow rates. Replace that with something like a Supreme and then see what your temps are like ;)

Why would I swap a FuZioN for a supreme ;)
Because the Supreme will give you lower temps than the FuZion would when coupled with a powerful pump. However, that's completely irrelevant to this discussion - I'm merely pointing out that you really can't comment on the difference increased flow-rates make in general when your test platform consists of a block that's designed to be one of the least restrictive available ;)

restrictive means, that he would lower the flowrate. That is in fact, what the supreme does and not the D-Tek FuZion.
What are you talking about?
I had 450l/h with the D-Tek and a Thermochill and only 230l/h with the Supreme in the same loop. So the Supreme is restrictive. And I had only 1,5°C better temps with the Supreme on my Q6600. After I nozzled my FuZion, I had better temps than the Supreme had and only 100l/h less flow rate. (350l/h with quad split nozzle)
But let us get back to topic guys. This is a Gallery and not a discussion topic! :p:

dark-redeemer, what cpu block is that?
I believe it's an EK-Wave with an Acetal top. The precursor to the Supreme, it had a much less restrictive design than the Supreme (about on par with the FuZion) but offers worse temps than an Apogee GT or FuZion.

Wow, thank you guys. That's a lot of response :)
The cpu cooler is an EK Wave with acetal top as mentioned before. I bought it almost a year ago and i don't see any need to change it. Of course it doesn't chill as good as e.g. an EK Supreme. But it looks much better than any other cpu cooler in trade.
The ram cooler is a Mips Freezer 4 with custom made acetal top by Anfitec. Mainboard is an Asus Striker Extreme. I do have a P5W, too. But without watercooling.
Changing the graphics card without disconnecting the NB tube is rather difficult I guess. Never tried this before.
Everthing is cooled by one Laing DDC and a single Thermochill PA120.3 radiator. The temps are not the best but they are adequate. Even with the highly overclocked CPU.
There's only few splashing in the reservoir when you put enough water in it.

I like that wood case. It seems like you could design a case however you wanted when it comes to using wood. How long did it take you?
Few hours in SketchUp! making everything fit how I wanted, took a weekend of on and off work to get it put together. Does what I wanted, great temps and fully internal water cooling :D

Because then later its easier to put another block in you're loop. First i bought some stupid dualrad and later i decided i wanted to have my nuclear 2900pro on water but my stupid dualrad can't handle the load. Now i have to upgrade again lol :(

firstly yes it would!
secondly why would anyone want to bother oc'ing a phenom right now?
and thirdly maybe because it lets you pull silly vcores/oc's and temps on quads!

Im using the MCR220 from swiftech (Duel 120mm fans) to cool my Q6600 G0, NB on the Maximus SE, and two HD 3870s in CF. Temps are great! Seriously, after playing Supreme Commander for about an hour just now,
Max CPU Temp: 48C @ 3.2GHz
Max GPU Temp: 41C
A 220 rad is fine, although I plan on adding a 320 this summer when I upgrade my parts to 2 4870X2's and my case to a Lian Li PC-P80 (I love that thing).
Overall, I guess people overcompensate for what they really need.

not possible to be silent with OCZ PSU
it's most silent comp i've had.
The PSU is the loudest :( none of the fans are at all though. I got them all on fan controllers just in case, but the PSU is definitely the loudest thing.
I have an e6400 @ 3.2ghz 1.4v idle = 30/31c max = 36-39c
I plan on adding a 2nd mcr220 radiator up top (if you look above the radiator there's space for 2 more 120mm fans).
I highly recommend this case

Try to go for res, pump, rad, cpu, res

I've always done pump followed by water block, then rad then res in order to have peak pressure on the block.

I have been seeing people put clamps on kink section and i think its just wrong....here's the deal, you're probably thinking less is more, well make the tubing a tad longer...probably an inch or two and you wont have kinks, trust me on my word cause i'm an expert .

i don't like any lights coming from my pc. the only light that looks good to me is a dim blue led coming thru a plexi glass waterblock. i had a OCZ 700w psu with blue leds and i changed it to a Corsair 750w which has no leds :) (that and the OCZ died :ROTF: ). after this pic i put a bit of black electrician tape around the power led b/c it is insanely bright at night.

Yes, it should provide a lot better flow,
Try to go for res, pump, rad, cpu, res
What temps are you getting with that chip and with what voltage, i need it for a comparison with mine :)
i have the apogee (vanilla), MCP-655, MCR-220 and a mcres. E2140 is @ 3.12Ghz 1.4v. i get 53 degrees load (coretemp with tjmax of 85) with orthos with an ambient at 24.
