I sense a bit of resentment. Sorry, it's just that I seem to find a lot of women that are "just having some fun" just to see what they can reel in. Sometimes I feel like a Bass or Trout cause I've been tossed back in so many times.:ROTF:
Is that you in your avatar, if so, you have amazing eyes and a very nice smile.

Coming from you that's high praise Mister Triple Loop
Amazing job CyberDruid  What 3DMark06 do you get with that? Are the CPUs in series or parallel? Parallel. The Y is hidden above and the res has three ports. The Marks are still embarassing. The Xeons are not very Xtreme
nice one! how are you guys able to get the skulltrail mobos?
Also, only 1 3870x2?
Try Provantage for the D5400XS
No I have used two 3870X2 in there but need to LC them: there is no room between slots for aircooled cards to breathe.
And Soldam cases. They are almost impossible to find outside Japan ??
Anyway, great setup :DYep and Thanks:up:

I suppose I should say something about my shelf there huh? At first I just had all of the parts to my system sitting on a shelf loose. I didn't want to have a case because of the extra fans I would need to cool the system and that makes more noise (my greatest high tech enemy).
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/329/dscn00450yz.th.jpg (http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn00450yz.jpg)
http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/6140/dscn00464oq.th.jpg (http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn00464oq.jpg)
Then I decided to make everything a little more stable. I didn't like how the video card and the USB card could just be pulled out if you accidentally tugged on a cable. I have a 1 yr. old son so a cable getting yanked on is a very real possibility.
http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/1848/dscn0181cr6.th.jpg (http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn0181cr6.jpg)
Then I just had to go with water. But how to mount the radiator?
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x270/saint-francis-photos/DSCN0270.jpg
It looked like hell. The wife hated it. But it kept everything very cool and quiet. Notice the 120 mm fan blowing right over the HDD's.
So I decided to make a more elegant shelf. My grandfather is a hobbyist furniture maker. He has a very mechanically inclined mind. He holds the patents for Cordura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordura), Bulk carpet making, seamless pantyhose and the soda bottle to name a couple. So I visited his workshop. I wanted the shelf to have enough room to allow completely unrestricted airflow and easy access to components. He introduced me to some interesting techniques for joining. The shelf is deeper than wood is sold so I had to join two boards together. I was introduced to the spline joint. I had intended to use a tongue and groove joint but apparently no self respecting furniture make would do that. It's only for flooring. I needed a better way to mount the reservoir also since it was stuck on a crooked slab of wood with Velcro; and it didn't make very good contact at that. I figured while I was at it I might as well get a second heater core. The two heater cores is really why it's so big (26" x 16" x 13"). The construction was pretty simple. I used a set of French curves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_curve) to determine the curving parts of the supporting ..... legs? ..... I kept it angular to some degree because I wanted to to have a bit of a Waldorfian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthroposophy) look to it; the integration of nature and technology in such a fashion that the technology isn't hindered yet conforms with the order of nature. The horizontal mounting of the mother board affords me the opportunity to rest an 80 mm fan on the PWM sink and also one on the RAM (which is nice). Notice how the HDD's are hanging. They are completely rubber isolated by many pretty thick rubber bushings.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x270/saint-francis-photos/DSCN0271.jpg
This is to reduce noise and increase longevity. It works well for reducing noise. Only time will tell about the plan on increasing longevity. Once I got the new shelf all put together I got heated about the noise the pump makes. I filled the loop with the pump hanging. Then the INSTANT I screwed it to it's bracket it started making terrible noise! So I just hung it from it's bracket with rubber bands. It still makes a slight bit of a buzz but it's much more bearable. As far as I'm concerned, any noise from this system is intolerable. I'm aiming for the maximum amount of cooling and silence without having a bunch of lights and stuff. I'm not a flashy guy. The biggest problem with my system now is that the post code LED makes my living room look like Christmas in Las Vegas when the lights are out. And they're out often when I'm in the room since it's our movie theater.

The gpu coolers are Zalman VF1000's, really nice and aren't too loud since I control them via my Kaze master controller. The CPU is clocked to 3.8 right now and I get idles of around 37-38C, on load it never goes past 50-ish, the NB stays around 32C

I thought seriously about walnut but it's so heavy that I thought it would be too much for the shelf I have the system on. I ended up using white oak. But remember, if you are going to make a completely enclosed case you will have to deal with the inevitable echoing that will come from using a wooden case. You will need to get some acoustic sound deadening material.

What's the mother board? I didn't know that there were server mother boards that supported xfire.
And do you get condensation with the pump and rad outside? I have been thinking seriously about doing this. Do you continue to keep it outside in the summer?

I've had the pleasure of -27C ambients for periods of time and below 0 for weeks at a time.
No condensation issues: I keep the rig under load and running 24/7.

Haha, nope it's not a Vapo, just the good 'ol stuff, DI-water and lab-grade Ethylene glycol, 9:1 ratio. The pump is a Thermaltake, and the green tubings are TT 3/8" and the insulated tubings are eheim.
Using Coleman blue-ice to cool down the res when temps get too hot... This is one of my first pics before I insulated the inlet tubings due to minor condensation.. Temps can drop to 15 deg Celsius temporarily for a while. By the time it hits the cpu, it goes beyond ambient, so I didn't bother insulating it.

that looks ace lennox! looks nice and roomy too. is it acoustic stuff all over everything? if so how much difference does it make to noise levels? I actually quite like the look of it though so might get some anyway!
It does help with the noise, but not nearly enough to ruin your case doing it. Once this stuff is on, it is not coming off. I honestly don't mind that it doesn't come off, but I wouldn't do it again the second time around.

That's awesome, very cleanly done and a good idea too.
Indeed. I just ordered some since my unit was acting up and it starting to sound like a swarm of bees. Methinks putting these in is better than requesting a new one from Corsair. I ordered the blue Kaze's which purportedly have lower dba. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yea I kinda forgot to take pictures of installing that because I got carried away.
First off its AC.Ryan two way mirrior glass.
Cut glass then drilled holes for the Scythe Controller knobs.
I used two stock drive covers at the top and bottom. I was going to bolt the glass to the panels but didnt like how it would look. So I used heavy duty clear double sided tape. I also used it to mount the monitor. It works great.
The hard drive is mounted using the screw holes under the harddrive. The other hard drive sits on top of my dvd-rw I might get two more raptors to put under the one in the window. But if I do I might put my chipset water loop to work and cool the drives as they have no airflow.

Thx Chaos cause i think it looks really ugly if u dont have enough and have to stretch it inequally.
Im thinking about adding a watercooling to my cosmos 1000. But first i want to make the inside red or black and most of my parts i bought are black. Than i will dye the water red with black kink coils i hope it looks decent. but it will take some time i just got the watercooling parts for about a 1100 $ so there is no money for painting the case because i want to powder code it.

Yeah its a lot stiffer than the tygon stuff, but It wasn't too hard. My bends aren't too extreme, I wouldn't recommend the tubing for any tight U bend setups, the tube will hold the bend (keeping intact without kinking) pretty good, but you gotta put a lot of muscle in it . The really hardest part was securing the clamps over. :)

Unfortunately the G70 doesn't have much room to route back there. The foam was already added to the side panel, so doubling that up would likely cause the wires to warp the tray. If I could do it again, I would put it on the tray and not the side panel.

Broke down my loop for the first time this past weekend after 3 months. I added an MCW60 to the loop. I'm a little worried about the D-tek barbs since the threading is different, right?. No leaks so far :D Also on the list of changes include: swapping out the top 2 fans with S-flex F's @ 7v, since the stock ones were annoying. I made a toggle switch to switch the voltage for the fans from 12v to 5v, which I mounted to the back near the psu. I added a tiny 40m fan to help cool the PWM. And made an extension for the rpm line.

Love the Vudu too. Since I have the a-05 hooked up to the tv I can watch movies via iTunes directly, so there was no point in an AppleTV. However a Vudu i tried out because movies come out quickly on it, it has major studio backing, and it plays movies instantly. After you get it, it takes about 3 days to load up on movies and works like a p2p network. The interface and remote are very intuitive, and there is a huge selection. It dropped in price from $399 to $295, so it is a worthy addition to any entertainment center.
The picture isn't quite up there with playing an actual Blu-Ray, but it beats out Apple movies IMHO. Gotta give my Wii-Wii some love too. Check it out

The initial backups through Time Machine and the network were slow (my 250gb on my MBP, my 310gb on my Mini [160gb + 250gb Lacie], and my rommdog's 120gb MB [white]). But after that, the incremental backups go pretty quickly, and network speed isn't affected too much.
Love the familiar OSX like interface on the Time Capsule, but getting it to play nice with my Westell DSL modem took some tweaking and playing around.
Here's my Time Capsule on top of a D-link swtich and the POS Westcell
You'll see black 1TB Lacie in front of them. I dig the chassis on it, and it is a great value for $200, but it is a bit loud, but recommended for ext storage.
Here are the tj07's innards.

You should put a window on the side so you can see the pretty innards working :). I guess the paint job is so beautiful that you could go without, it's just different. Also the blue light behind the silverstone can be changed out pretty easily to red led's :).

phillip684, thanks man. Yeah, I am definitely going to put in a red led fan. Kind of last thing on my list. I changed the mobo 3 times (p5n32-e to ip-35 Pro, and had one bad board in between for 3 changes). I am on the fence with the window. Originally there was supposed to be one, but it got painted and was forgotten about. Kind of hard to do it now without chipping paint and jacking it up.
=Acid Rain=, outstanding! That is a huge leap. What is that a g-07?

@ Matt100 I love the front of the case, what case is it, and how'd you get it to look like that?
its a lian li PC70 that has been well and truly modded by my good friend Tom at ChilledPC.co.uk basically he chopped the front out then mounted a new panel on the front of hit holding one of his own design thermochill 120.3 rad grills. You can see the hex bolt things that hold the new panel to the old one.
Then he drilled 4 holes in the front and mounted a sunbeam fan controller kind of "through" it.
Best thing is he has 4 or 5 spare fronts as the cost was about the same to have loads made so I can have different setups!
I might go for a different fan controller, or maybe a VFD of some description but as it stands I'm happy enough with it. Still a few niggles, mainly around the non UV reactive pink UV reactive feser.

Yep but that's the thing with watercooling I guess. First you spend 1000's of dollars to your system, and step by step you're going forward on the build, the looks begin to look the same. from that point you know you're addicted to childish stuff and you probably could spend on something that IS important.
But it still is quite fun after 5 years of WC. ;)

It's not pictured but I have some PT gel and a small plastic box Velcroed to the case underneath the pump so it's not just hanging there. When I go to redo the loop for my 8800 I think that I'm going to remount the pump up in the 5 1/4" bays.

I would have mounted the pump in the bottom dvd drive bays. that way you cut a solid foot of excess tubing out of the loop.
Aside from that, Nice case I do like it.

OK, I've mentioned this build a few times already and I just finished it...in fact, it's so newly finished, it doesn't even have an OS yet. Before y'all flame me, I built this as an experimental shiats & giggles system, it contains:
Case is an old AOpen that I don't even remember the model #
Gigabyte GA-8I915G-MF
524 Preshott
Innovatek G-Flow CPU block
Sapphire X1300 (Gigabyte 7600GT shown in pics went up in flames last night due to touching top of the case http://smilies.vidahost.com/otn/sad/mecry.gif)
DD CSP-Mag
3 Alphacool Cape Cora
MagiCool Plexi Reservoir 400
Innovatek compression fittings
11.2/8 Tygon R3603 (I was led the believe this was the right size for the fittings I bought but doesn't seem to fit right:shrug: )
Antec NeoHE 380
30GB Maxtor & 20GB Seagate HDD
Innovatek Protect fluid
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6158/innovatekfrontse9.jpg

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/9295/innovateksidekb9.jpg
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6170/innovatekfittingskm6.jpg
I'm not expecting any great performance out of this system and soon as I use up all the fluid I bought (enough for 2 more re-fills), I'll likely switch it to an all copper/brass setup with an Apogee Extreme and a BIP.

I like how you went to the Res before the Radiator...been thinking of doing the same myself. Any problems with cavitation (bubbles) in the system?
BTW, amazing tubing runs and overall great system!

Cyber, how is the first block getting any flow with it in parallel?

Cyber, how is the first block getting any flow with it in parallel?
Possibly there's enough restriction in the blocks and enough coolant flowing through that it still cools fine.

Cyber, how is the first block getting any flow with it in parallel?
I've checked the 4 GPUs and they are all within 1C of each other.
To my mind it is just like an F fitting (or a T attached to an Elbow). The flow is introduced to two pathes. Neither path is less restrictive so it goes through both...
I think there is more flow from the terminal inlet...but the path is reversed on the outlet side so I think it balances out.
Bottom line is it's cooling so much better than air I can hardly believe it.

Nice one CyberDruid, did you have a single-slot bracket laying around or something? otherwise the soundcard would never fit :)
Looks like a seriously powerful system you have there, very nice

Thanks :)
It depends on how much water you fill in the res. If you fill it up to almost maximum there won't be any bubbles. Another alternative is to use the EK Anti Cyclon for EK reservoirs.
Some pics of my build;)when i'll have more pics of some little updates i'll post too:
You can see the worklog here:
Can you please take nice pics instead of making some random shots when you move with 15 mp/h....:(
I have a 5.1mp cam too but if you just set your ISO to 100, aperture on 2seconds and lay the cam on some clothes, nightsetting on for better colors, and a 2 or more seconds countdown. It will make beatiful pictures!
Just try and post again because your system is AWESOME!
Cheers m8

I simply cut down one from the HD3870X2.
And the X-Fi is visible in the pictures I posted above. Directly below the top card.

Oh yeah. Once I change out the SB cooler it'll be tolerable.
Not sure if anyone else has reported it...but the SB cooler on the D5400XS is super annoying...

Love the clean lookin, and the color of your water is just fantastic. Not to colourful as many other rigs I've seen. Just the right mixture. :)
Nice! ;)

kibubi is that res tri-angle shaped?
My P180 was too small.. all the HD's were killing me...
So I switched to Stacker, not the most elegant case around, but surely one of the most practical. Some blue plexi and a new watercool setup provided me a fresh case. I'm still considering to paint the inside black, but kinda have enough of modding atm..

For the people who wonder where my res and pump live (the pictures were taken before I finished the loop btw..). Biggest improvement regarding my last watersetup: the liquid from the resevoir now flows directly in the pump :)

The loop is cooled by a PA120.3 with sucks air from below trough nexos fan filters.
