I cant believe how you guys take pics with such awesome lighting, where abouts is that pump sold? And how good is it?

The software that comes with it looks pretty sweet, not sure about performance though theres a post about it somewhere.

nope not just you, I think you're right! Looks like the pump outlet is straight to the corner outlet of the fuzion, not the inlet...

Just fix the fuzion and you have a nice rig :D

i knew it! :D

but i can't help but wonder...

how are the temps in that configuration? :)

Bugger!! didnt even know that the Block has to be a certain way . Will Change that tom.

The temps are not too bad (i think), 38c idle and 52c load. My E6600 is overclocked to 3.6ghz needing 1.5125v and havent oced 8800gtx yet.

Cant get it to be stable with orthos yet, but will play crysis with no probs, albeit stuttery at times.

By the way, silly qu ahoy- do i need to turn cpu block upside down or do i need to switch tubes round?

Sorry if im not making much sense, very new to all this.

in this case, the block is mounted fine. Just redo the tubing so that the water goes IN through the center hole and OUT through the corner hole.

doesn't seem like it's a world-ending error. water is still flowing - just not as optimally as it could be.

There are also clear coolants available. Here in germany one of the best, without making the tube looking cloudy. It is called Innovatek Protect.
Available as a concentrate to mix with distilled water, or also ready mixed.

I hope to have my 343b ready soon. :( I need more space for my 2 loops. They won´t fit in my old built :(

Yup! Pure distilled H20. :D As for the Gfx card, I'm fine cooling it with air. for easy maintenance. hehehe

But i think I'll keep the bottom 2 fans on the side panel to keep cool components .

Hi Stormshadow, just finished retubing the cpu block and looks like this now

Decided to turn cpu block upside down to keep the tubing running in the same pattern.

Temps have not changed at all, still 38c idle and 52c load but have not let as5 run in yet, so temp might change still.

By the way, i think i was looking at some of your previous rigs for inspiration towards this, had one pic saved on my last HD. Thanx for that

I was thinking of adding a Fesser UV Black Dye. :D

But that would be for the next lanparty. hehehe We have monthly lanparties in my place so having a fancy coolant would be nice.

But for daily usage, I still prefer pure H20. :D

@cyber & sparky
Thanks guys! :D

Really have to thank the water-cooling veterans for keeping me away from pre-built kits and also for the ideas on how to setup my loop. :D

You're using an old version of CoreTemp that uses a tjunction of 85C for the E4300. Correct tjunction for E4300 is 100, so you will need to add 15C to those temps.

Sorry for the bad news

Edit: later versions of CoreTemp will show the correct tjunction.

unfortunaly 0.95 sais the same temp @ load @ idle 0.94 is indeed wrong but it is more stable 0.95 @ load is crushing all the time :( so both core temps 0.95 + 0.94 sais the same temp @ load i don't have any problem that's why i posted the uGuru 23*C @ idle buta when i will open the windows the idle temps is droping very much :)

2 weeks later, Crossfire X released, and your the owner of a DFI ICFX 3200...

"god damnit... aright fine, sell the HD 2900XT and get three HD 3870s... then THAT IS IT"

2 weeks later, you see this thread, see all the purdy systems.

"FINE $300 on water cooling then THAT IS IT".

yeah.... I'm tired of spending money on my rig... and just earlier today I came to the conclusion that before I put another dollar into it, I'm going to enjoy my 8800GTS. Any money in the computer budget is going to go towards the oh so many killer games out right now...

Third times a charm? I've had so many watercooled setups and cases its sad. This is the THIRD loop I've purchased. Twice before I sold EVERYTHING and said it's air from now on. Didn't happen.

Now, be easy on me. This was with NO MODDING at all to speak of. Well, I removed the metal mesh off the top of the case successfully in one piece in case I ever want to re-install it. I also broke out that crappy plastic design that resides under the mesh too.

http://nickfire.com/public/wcredux/wc3%20002.JPG

ROFL. Funny eh? Works though. 2nd rig is chillin @ left.

http://upload.nickfire.com//files/1/wiringgoodness%20002.JPG

Messy, yes.. but I don't have a window and I threw it together really fast so w/e. Maybe I'll re-do the wiring this weekend after I stop by Home Depot for some zipties.

http://nickfire.com/public/wcredux/wc3%20008.JPG

Pretty clean looking I suppose.

http://nickfire.com/public/wcredux/wc3%20007.JPG

I'm sure you've all seen that.

http://nickfire.com/public/wcredux/wc3%20011.JPG

And finally, a pretty cool pic I snapped. I have to apologize for the pictures. I was really lazy and just put the camera on Auto. As you can see, the ISO was pretty high which resulted in some graininess on the blacks but w/e.

Specs of the watercooling are:

D-Tek Fuzion w/a Backplate that came with a Zalman CNPS8000
MCR-220 (Push-Pull) -- 2x yates pulling, 2x lian li fans pushing
AquaXtreme 50z pump
T-line + DD plug
Distilled w/a hint of Pentosin G11 + PT nuke
7/16" Masterkleer
MX-2 Thermal Paste

Dont'cha think I would've? ;) Theres some plastic from the top bezel portion that I left up there that prevents the radiator from being ~1" back which it'd need to be. Since I wanted to prevent modding because I'm lazy and SICK of modding cases, i did it that way.

were the holes easy to line up on the 690 and that radiator?

Not really. Only got 4 screws in total :p:. the one fan lines up but the other one not so well.

hey nicks what do you think of those AC fans? do you have the pwm, low speed, or reg?

There really expensive up here (like $10) but they look cool and seem to be pretty good (swiss engineering after all, all purpose knives and DC fans :P).

Worth the ten bux (or $30, for two P180b mounting slots + Thermalright Ultra 120).

Regular one iirc. I LOVE the thing. Probably the quietest fan in my PC as far as motor noise goes. All you hear is the woosh of air. Pushes like 50CFM, its a GREAT fan. If they werent so expensive I'd have more.

Black Tygon tubing. Also negates the need for an anti-algae agent such as Pentosin, I'd think, since the opacity prevents algae feeding off light.

i'd say he did them himself.

That is correct.... hand sleeved.

We are working on some more pics (dark ones to show the UV) and the website will go up soon.. there is no photoshop work outside of cleaning noise and color correction. The picture are just taken with a Nikon d70s with a 28mm lens and one soft light.. the computer sits on a table with a seamless back taped to the wall... thats what makes it look so clean.. its just a very nice piece of wallpaper really :)

We basically wanted to take what is a great very high-quality stock case and make is something unique and special. There are a lot of small details that I knew only this community could appreciate or even see. I have been a long time lurker and as someone who has taken a lot of great tips from this forum I was excited to show the finished product off before the site and public get to see them.

There is quite a bit of custom fab work the for the front plate and so on (the top little round detail at the top of the front plate acts as a touch button to open the CD tray)

Hard drive cooling... there are 3 drives mounted vertically under the DVD with a low speed 120mm fan on top.. there is one 120mm fan in the top grate we have done everything to kill the machine while keeping it as quiet as possible under extreme loads. We have had no issues with flow rates or temps with the loop configured like this.

The screen is a Matrix Orbital USB item. We have it set up to rotate thru system vitals (FPS, all temps for CPU,GPU,Disks etc.. drive usage,Clock speeds)
http://www.matrixorbital.com/

Currently it has a 6600@3.2 and a 8800 Ultra OC'd a bit. (praying for an Extreme price drop soon :) )

The case can be configured with the MB on either side depending one how you like it, I prefer this way as its unique and opens the case up quite alot visually.. (the flipped is the much more difficult configuration  )

Assembly is not that bad, the hardest part is being methodical and slow with all the anodized items. The R&D to get this case from stock to this has been a long and grueling process.. the rigs eventually will be built for some locals here basically as custom built top of the line type rigs.. its the start of a small business for a friend and me, and we have put a great deal of time and effort into it to get it to this point..

Oh and in the shot of the Matrix screen you can spot some of the lighting.. the case has full UV lighting but its all pretty hidden..

I think every case in the post is great.. modding is a very fun and personal thing.. there are some pretty crazy and great rigs here..

I checked the matrixorb website, and I definately want one of those, but can you tell me which vfd/lcd you have? and is it as simple as just plug the usb?
Or do you have to solder stuff? Does it comes with software for the lcd or are there software apps on the i-net you used?

I really like to know all about those lcd's!

Can you send me a pm or something?

Hi there, I actually cheated sort of... used food colouring coz i just couldnt find a red dye. Tried dtek uv fire red and it turned pink on me.

Was contemplating using fluid xp blood red but apparently it leaves solid residue and costs £27.99 here in UK .

I know food dye will possibly leave residue but at least I only paid 22p for it!!

I think someone mentioned that all dyes will become soild after a while, (Might have been Marci from my recollection) please correct me if Im wrong

Its possible since 7" is a diagonal measurement.
Compatibility: Case with 7" Drive Bay
Looks like you need a special drive bay.

No you don't. It fits like a normal DVD/CD 5.25" drive.

They are Thermaltake Retractable 7" screens for 5.25" drive bays. You can buy them at: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2844211&CatId=340.

thanks for the link

Wait a minute... 7" in 5.25"?! Can't be...

"5.25 inch" drive bay is actually closer to 6" horizontal

Those stupid LCD's are originally meant for the Mozart TX cases which actually (from my understanding) have 7" bays but have a converter that makes mounting 5.25 possible in them. IIRC, that's also the same size as North American car radios.

Seeing that is a custom MM, a 7" bay (or two) wouldn't have been that much of a problem to put in the case.

Hmm...

Don't start buying that LCD and believing that it will fit your 5.25" :)

It's meant for the 7" bay in the mozart and don't let anyone tell you otherwise

Guys, remember monitors are measured diagonally. Using fancy math; a 7" screen in a 5.25" bay would be ~4" high (3.99).
I'm not doubting you Stijndp, just letting people know it's possible to get a near 7" screen in a 5.25 bay. Also if you look closely at the case, the bays for the LCDs are wider. At least it seems that way.

Yeah the LCD displays are bigger than 5.25"s, they custom cut the bays to a bigger size to fit the screens into place. And to answer the question on what they are used for they used them as a second/third monitor...

QFT. I misread between the whole 5.25" drive bay/7" bay converter blah blah.
I concede :ROTF:

He probably has it either blowing in or sucking out air, thus pulling or pushing air through the radiators.
