Why would you mess with Buffy?...she'll kick your arse! :lol2:
Seriously though, are you replacing the one behind the BVS you had cut into the case, or is it going someplace else?
I can't believe how fast you knocked out that mannequin of yours. Project: Lubic's cube is kicking my arse ATM, having trouble figuring out how to make and attach the sides/top of the case. Biggest problem is too many options, not enough cash.:(
Oh no, that one stays. The area behind the mobo (which is right infront of a window) is just blank and bland. I am gonna make a water feature there . . .think of a stake, and blood . . .

Why did I just envision Blood Red FluidXP+ squirting everywhere?
Hey, do you know anyone who sells a true fluorescent red acrylic? I just got some from U.S. Plastic and the stupid stuff is pinkish or orange/red in color and totally not what I need. In all honesty, it looks like the crap Primochill uses for their red reservoirs now that I think about it.

MegadeTCI, how about the impact of the flow meter on the previous flow?
Well, I can not tell you what the flow was like before installing the flow meter, because......there was no flow meter. But during my initial testing with two flow meters connected in series one after another, adding the 2nd flow meter reduced the flow by about 0.2GPM compared to a loop with only one flow meter. Since I am still able to get close to 2GPM flow, I'm in the "Great flow" category according to the flow graph I recently saw.
damn. is that D5 shooting right into the cpu block?
nice.
I was considering orienting the D4 pump so that it would shoot straight into the Maze4 waterblock, since the pump and the water block are perfectly alligned. I decided to stick with my previous design, where the pump sends the water to the radiator first, which then feeds into the water block. This way, I could efficiently route the tubing to the flow meter.
I want to see him take out his memory :p:
Dude, this computer has seen all the hardware updates it will ever have. So, nothing gets put in or taken out! :D

Boyu = No clamps :eek:!
He's using 7/16" ID Masterkleer tubing on 1/2" barbs. Most people believe that to be a safe combination that doesn't warrant the use of clamps. I use clampls in my system to get that industrial look.

How hard is it to get the 7/16" Masterkleer tubing over the 1/2" barbs?
Not hard at all if you are using brass/nickel barbs. The process becomes harder when you are using nylon barbs, since they can have a long, straight section where the tubing just sticks to the smooth surface of the barb. I found it hardest to put the 7/16" tubing over the inlet/outlet of D4/D5 pumps, since they don't have a tappered beginning - as opposed to typical barbs, the D4/D5 barbs have the largest diameter at the very beginning, followed by a long, smooth section, where the tubing again tends to stick. So for the D4/D5 pumps, I found it necessary to immerse the end of the tubing in nearly boiling water for 5-10 seconds.

Sorry guys but this might be a long post.
After building and clocking the system in my sig, I had decided that I was unhappy with the tempatures at full load with orthos (I use Intel’s Thermal Analysis Tool “TAT” and Everest for temp readings). My Zalman CNPS9700 was just not cutting it for me. So I thought I might dabble a little with water cooling. I devised a plan that would help me save money while maintaining effectiveness. I would experiment with a Big Water 745 kit to see if it could beat my zalman cnps9700 (because it is only $120 and I could pick it up at a store right down the street). And the plan was if it did lower my temps I could use it latter for a second loop cooling my chipset and GPU’s. After istalling the kit I realized that my temperature went down a few degrees. This led me to believe that water cooling might be the answer to all my prayers. So I did some research and developed the best water loop possible. The only reason it is not the best is because I did not want to use the noisy iwaki md-20, and the swiftech storm is only the best with the iwaki, it gets spanked by the mp-05 if any other pump is used (especially low power pumps). So for noise reasons I went with the next best thing which is the most powerful Eheim available, the 1260!!(this thing is an absolute beast and is massive, but as promised, it is totally silent) And I paired it with the mp-05 special edition and will be using ShinEtsu X23 as my thermal paste (I used coolaboratory’s liquidpro before and it gets beat by this stuff even though its metal and its freakin hard to get off the heatsink and cpu, you have to lap off the residue). I had the pa120.3 shipped from the UK which was a nightmare. And I chose to use the latest and greatest fans from thermaltake, only because the “golf ball” 2000’s are sold out everywhere and thermaltake claims to have a fan that pushes 78cfm while only producing 21dba which is quite a feat. Now that I have them I know this is totally inaccurate (there loud). Since I will be having three radiators and two pumps I had to build a platform for everything to mount on. And due to fresh air space issues I choose to mount the pa120.3 suspended above the ground. I also decided to mount a separate power supply (a very cheap one, $25) to the board to run the pump and all the fans. I have a highly overclocked crossfire system so I did not want to steal any more of its power to run the new water system. Temperatures are amazing, compared to everything else that I have tried. To give you an idea temps were 58c with cnps9700 and 56c with big water (orthos for many hours). From what I saw before I don’t think it wll ever be above 47c because that’s the highest I ever got it but that was at 1.5volts and 3.64Ghz orthos for eight hours with room temperature at 70F. Here are the pics. I know it’s a little ugly but I plan on cleaning up the wiring and painting the wood black. Enjoy….

Enjoy….
:welcome: Hope you have a hardhat. Me thinks it's going to be a long night for you.;)

Yeah thermaltake sucks. I built this rig a long time ago and during the first week i built it i was so mad at the horrible temps from the zalman 9700 when i cranked it up to 1.5 volts on the core that i got up an went to the nearest store to purchase a water kit. It was very spur of the moment, so i knew the crappiness of thermaltake but i just needed something for immediate gratification. Plus i knew i could always use it to run my chipset and gpus on a separate loop. Did not mean to bash anyone, ya'll must be refering to the swiftech storm statement. I know storm is best at higher water rates but it seems in multiple tests that at lower rates there may be some better alternatives like the mp-05 SP and the swiftech appogee. I love this rig and have been playing BF2 and BF2142 on it for about a year now and it still going strong at the mentioned clock speeds.

"GIZIU" love your tubing size and coolant color, very neat and sexy...whats your tubing and barb size by the way ?
first i'm seeing liquid cooling on a DFI P35 do you have any cooling on your PWM, if not, is it ok not to ?
Tubing is Innovatek blue UV 8/10". On PWM I have Thermaltake's radiators. I don't have problems with it.
Thanks guys for pleasantly comments :) I wonder how it would look: black tubing, black coolant and white fans

GIZIU...now that you have taken the heatpipe off of your board do you think the block covering the PWM area would easily seperate from the heatpipe? I was thinking about doing what you did and keeping the current heatsink on the PWM area if I could take it off without cutting it.
Nice build BTW!

The pump is by far the most quiet thing in the whole rig. I had to install speed control to get the fans to quiet down but once i did the whole rig is very quiet. I had to put a foam like material underneath the pump because it used to make the ply board vibrate and was noisy because of that. But after installing the foam b/t the board and the pump its basically inaudible. Loudest thind on rig by far is the three 120mm fans but probably about 18db since i have speed control set all the way on low.

well "ranker" you seem to got too much money so much so you dont know what to really do with it...your res is resting on your rad, thats not a good look.
overall its an alright build could be better, the only thing i'm amazed by is the cluster of expensive parts.
"GIZIU" love your tubing size and coolant color, very neat and sexy...whats your tubing and barb size by the way ?
first i'm seeing liquid cooling on a DFI P35 do you have any cooling on your PWM, if not, is it ok not to ?
LOL. "thats not a good look." Looks aren't that important to me as performance is. I'll make my rig as nice looking as possible but the most important thing was getting the best performing setup possible within the constraints of the case and getting 3 loops to fit. I'm sure you could suggest another place to mount 3 reservoirs other than off the radiator? I apologize if it's such a Watercooling Fashion Faux Pas. Hopefully I can draw from your lengthy WC'ing experiences and you can tell me where to place it best ;)
What's ironic is that I used 3/8" tubing on this recent rebuild instead of the usual 7/16"ID or 1/2"ID used in most of my machines or other machines in this thread. I guess 8mm is the new in thing these days?
Anyhow, I'll try to sleep easy at night knowing that my rig bothers you so much. ;)
Why even bother trash-talking the guy? Is he doing something wrong for having a nice rig?

btw nice build there Ranker... dont worry bout guys who are mad @ the world

All I gathered from this post is either 1. you have an axe to grind with ranker for some crazy reason. 2. you hate large tubing and like small tubing (eww), 3. both.

Your probably gonna hate me for this but...you could probably use your jigsaw for that. Dremel will melt it pretty good at any RPM.
Best bet would be bandsaw or some sort of circular saw (table or portable) with high tooth count blade (80-100+).

For most simple things, yea, that's all you'll need. From what I can find on the webs, you should get some 10-20 tooth count blades (looks like thin kerf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerf#Saw_terminology)) for the JS to use on the Acrylic.

The external cooler has been modified(3/8"). Swapped stock pumps for 1 MCP355 w/ petras top. Changed tubing from 1/4 to 3/8. Loop order is Gpu-Gpu-VR-VR-NB. It performs way better than i expected. The 8800ultras never get any hotter than 60c under full load. Here is a thread with more info on the external mod. (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=157885)
CPU loop(1/2") is Pump-rad-cpu-res. D-Tek Fuzion,MCP355 w/ petras top, 120.3, EK8800FC x2.

Hey Nugzo, is that black coolant running through clear tubing?
what brand did you use and how long have you had it running in your loop?
i am also thinking of using black but was a tad concerned...
also, what are you using for lighting inside the case, i like it, not too much, not too weak...

well i had a thermaltake mozart tx but it was too tiny for my system/wc system.
the advantage of mounting the second ontop is, that i have access to all parts of the tower.
first, i planned to put in my second striker c2d system at the bottom tower but actually i plan to put in a chiller or a vapo...kinda difficullt to find some1 in germany who is able to build such things, but i keep hoping ^^
ive re-mounted the koolance blocks today with better thermal compound. the only thing i need is my maximus and the northbridge cooler which i ordered @ mips

Thanks YugenM, I was going to ask that. Great setup, Vin_Tech! Does your pump have high enough flow?

vin tech there is not way you have good flow if all that is on one loop

Yeah, no doubt. I opened this thread and could have sworn I heard a pump screaming for mercy. Very unique though.

I saw his system already on a dutch forum (http://www.hardware.info/nl-NL/usersys/cmlxZJ1pk2yd/view/). He claims to have CPU temps around 34c after 8 hours stress E6600@3900Mhz at 1.6v ...
But it looks really good. No doubt about that. :)

vin_tech man that looks crazy dude.. in a good way :D
@coolfris those temps are totally possible only thing you need to do is to have a low ambient temperature.. something like leaving the window open in your room will result in those temps..

If they are all in parallel though it won't hurt flow too much really.
That's crazy.... I want to do that :D

yeah, those temps are pretty low... especially for everything on that loop. like you guys have already said, it must have been winter with the window open. or he put the thing in the freezer. :D

Nice job Darkatom. I was just hoping that you or someone else on the forum could shed some light on the screws and washers you used and how exactly its connected to the top of the case. A shot of the top panel from the inside would be great if possible.
I am ordering parts for my wc setup and this is the part that I am stuck on. I want to top mount my 120.3 with 3 fans in a pull configuration. I am pretty sure it goes screw -> fan -> rad -> spacer -> case -> washer. I just wanna make sure the size/type of the screw, size of the washer, size of the drill bit you used to drill the hole for the screw, and size of the spacer you are using. Ive read about people using screws that were too big and puncturing their rad. Most likely I would try to order them from www.mcmaster.com or homedepot. The hole for the tubing looks like a 5/8' ID hole?
Thanks for any insight/links to mcmaster.com you can give on this.

looks like pump/rad is in the section below... lian li case i think. i love the clean white look (actually what i'll be doing except with blue colored coolant). UV would ruin the cleanliness of it. :D

Does anyone know anyone who has an eVGA 680i with watercooled south bridge and a 8800 GTX? I am trying so hard to find a water block that fits/clears the 8800. I intend to go to a watercooler for the 8800 GTX, but I need to know it's all gonna fit!
