My new P180 setup, my very first WC job. Needed internal, wanted quiet and clean.

Pics:
Overall. Added a bunch of additional noise dampening foam to the interior of the P180:
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/2987/h2ooverallpf2.jpg

Side. The "extra" smart coils you may notice if you look carefully.....are not part of the loop.....they're used to disguise the USB cables and maintain a consistent aesthetic LOL. And no, the CPU > Rad hose is not kinked....it's just the angle of the pic. Next pic shows a smooth bend.
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2252/h2osidemh3.jpg

Upper chamber. Noctuas, more noise dampening, cable management.
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/8760/h2ouppertr7.jpg

Lower chamber. Tight fit but works alright I think. High output fan is connected to fan controller.
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/124/h2olowerco0.jpg

Front. Added 2 intake fans, 1 each for upper and lower chamber to increase airflow to the rads. Very minor modification.....some rubber grommet for clearances, some noise matting for separation.

I have a very hot E600 "B" chip that would go as high as 66C under Orthos at 1.5125V. So I decided to re-do my loop last month with the new Fuzion block to see if it's as good as it's hyped up to be.
Mind you though I've been using water wetter as an additive since 2002 but this time around I just use pure water plus a few drops of biocide only.

old Apogee + water wetter mix idles in the mid 40s, max load temp in the mid 60s.
new Fuzion + distilled water idles in the low 40s, max load temp now hovering around 57-60.

case: Silverstone TJ05
rad: PA120.2 + shroud. imho a shroud isn't necessary for everyone but I need it to fit the A.C. Ryan grill and I think it helps a bit with low airflow.
blocks, Fuzion + MCW 55 ( Derlin top ).
pump : Laing D5 ( 2 yrs old non stop running ) set at mid-flow 3.5

2 Yates ( D12SL ) on Rad. undervolted @ 7v.
Dynamat insulation throughout.

I know it's not as aesthically pleasing as most of the fancy looking rigs here but, at 5 feet away, it's completely silent which I value the most.

Wait, so if you run the Thermochill shroud you can use a regular RadGrill? <starts to look for Thermochill 120.3 & shroud in stock>

Hey Clee, I have the the same MB like yours and i'm not understand why you don't have a MOSFET heatsinks. Use the orginal heatsink, cut the heatpipe from the NB cooler !

hey clee nice setup, very clean...

could you clarify the radgrills and shroud bit, whats the connection.
a radgrills and PA rad mounting holes dont fit.

PA rad with shroud means you are pulling cool air from outside through your rad via yates on 7V, this is most efficient use of shroud...

clee
05-04-2007, 04:11 AM
Aurora,
No, you gotta mod the shroud. That grill is made for MCR220 and the PA120.2 is a fair bit longer
I have the Thermochill shroud but in my situation, it's much easier for me to mount with the AC Ryan grill onto the Silverstione case due to the 4 extra mounting holes around the corner. and IMO it looks better.
The PA120.3 however, is a monster compare to the MCR320 so I'm not sure if it can be mod'ed to fit with a regular grill. I'd spring for a PA120.3 ahroud instead if I were you, but they're hard to get.

Concept,
No, u don't need to sink the mosfets. I put tons of voltage to sustain a high OC yet the mosfets barely get warm to the touch. Same goes with the SB chipset. I wonder why ppl put aftermarket heatsink/fan on them. ?????

septim,
Drill new holes on the shroud to bring the 2 fans closer. There's enough surface area around the mounting holes on the shroud to let you do it. I took a snapshot of the mod I did last year & I'll pose the pic if I find it.

Skyguy,
nice cable management, very clean indeed, hats off to ya !!

Skyguy, noise would decrease a bit more if you cut away the metal grills on the front fans (and the plastic ones too if possible). Great system!

I'm still a bit unsure about using the Y or connecting 2 lines to the res and pump inlet.
The Y seems to be working out a bit better, though it doesn't make much sense.
Having 2 separate lines should technically be better as more water would be able to leave the block ASAP.

Still a bit confused on which config to use. Time will tell, as I test out more things. :p:

i'm not too familiar with that cpu block but if it's like other single inlet / dual outlet blocks, it looks like you have it set up as efficiently as it gets.

if i could make a suggestion, I would suggest flipping your rad so the barbs face toward the case and you can cut down some tubing.

That might also entail using the middle fan spot on your radiator to mount to your radbox.

I don't care much about color dye and I've heard stories about color pigment disappears over time.

But that green dye in your loop is just gorgeous and it really tickles my fancy lol

What is it, it's not the Swiftech Dydrx is it ?????

Water-cooled || D-TEK fuZion || Thermochill 120.3 PA || Laing DDC-1 Ultra- Petra's top || EK-FCX1900- silver || EK-Multioption 200 res || Danger Den fill port || Tygon R3063 1/2" tubing

they are smart coils, didnt need to remove molex's!

@soccerswim, its Feser smoothy F1, have a bottle of blue left to ... :)

oh tell a lie my first attempt was like this >>

looked very nice, it was a BIX dual and TDX universal with blue dye and green smart coils.

problem was, it was inefficent and the smart coils squeezed the tubing really bad, i.e when i took it off it left an indent

This is a first time build for me (internal that is) and I kinda like it. I think its pretty clean. Pump and res are fixed on with velcro so that if I need to slide the mobo tray out, I can do so with the pump and res. :D

Pump is a DDC, radiator is a Coolrad 12T and block is the Dtek FuZion. Used 3/8 ID clearflex tubing.

Case doesn't have a lot of space (not exactly ideal for Watercooling) so I'm pretty happy being able to squeeze things in. :)

I don't mean to be pedantic but I wouldn't call that internal, its sort of half way.

Get the rad inside, THEN it's internal :)

Sorry for Offtopic. Yes the Thermochill is quite good. It performs very well with undervolted Aircoolers, cause of the big and strong lamellae.
Im using Everest Ultimate. Of course the EK Wave is not the best with his Temps but the Optic and the Flow really fit this

What additive are you using in the water?

I am using a ready mixed clear liquid (Inno Protect) from the german dealer Innovatek against corrosion. The green effect comes from:

Fluorescein *klickme* (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescein)

which is not so harmful for my clear Tygon Tube. Other UV-stuff makes Tygon look milky and matt just like Water Wetter does. ;)
We get that fluorescein from the drugstore in germany.

don´t you know that it is used in liquid cooling systems? In germany it is very familiar yet. Even looks nice with usual light, as you can see at the picture where everything is opened.

But well now I spammed enough in here. Now show me some other rigs.

hmm so you'd like to change something, maybe you could help contribute some resources for World Community Grid, like folding @ home and boinc crunching if you not yet that is...

also maybe add some rubber edge trims to those bottom/box holes?
i dont see anything worth changing yet, and if i have one of those probably till next time i clean out the loop then i'd figure something to add/change color?

Great overclocks with no condensation due the low humidity in the winter.

The Aquatube in the front of the case looks fantastic...Maybe I will do this with a Watercool AB-G, but for that I would have to buy a new front, which shouldn't be any problem, because thge case is modular.

Sure Tubing/Water/Colour should be the way you like.

I preferred the thicker tube for better flow.

My box is modular too. That was very important to me, because I know that I will buy the TC 120.3 one day and it should fit in there too. I just need to remove the Panel on the right and replace it by another, that I will make, when the TC will be bought. It is just a strong Skeleton with panels on every side.

Using only one TC triple with 3 Yate Loon @ 12V.
First i have to modify my case before i can use the second TC triple.

Watertemp was Idle 32,3°C, Load 35,3°C.
Roomtemp something around 25°C.

LeChuck, I would make the following mods to your loop, it saves a bit of tubing:

The tubes don't have the necessary bending radius to do that.
Is a lot possible with tygon, but not everything :)

Modem user warning :).

It's the first time that i see one of my cases in action :)

Nothing is impossible ...my only problem is i know nothing about the shipping costs and the customs clearance.

Another P180b watercooled rig.

Many thanks to all in xtreme forum, ocforum and DD forum for inspiration. All of the wc parts were ordered from Petrashop, DD, SVC and FrozenCPU.

Yes, I'm a real low flow user, but the temperatures are still very good, because I only buy parts with a good performance AND a low flow resistance.

More than possible, I just confirmed my order with LeChuck today :D.

artic_storm, How low is the flow rate man.

Atleast save yourself a bit, and use shorter tubes where possible. Like from the Box to Case.
Try adding a 2nd pump too.

What are your CPU and GPU temps?

Now thats what I like to hear. Now I jusy need to figure out what I want & pm him:) I haven't done any real water cooling since my abit nf7-S 2.0. I still have the radiator, shroud, pump, critcool relay thingy and the maze blocks for cpu & chipset. I'm so out of date on custom cooling I'm mostly reading right now. I'm purchasing another members high end parts & I'm trying to determine what to keep & what to let go.
Swiftech Storm Rev2

swiftech Apogee GT

Swiftech MCW30

Swiftech MCW60 with MC14 Ramsinks

Thermochill Radiator PA120.2

Petra'sTech DDCT-01s Custom Delrin DDC Pump Top (w/Barbs)

Laing DDC-2 (18W)/Swiftech MCP355 Inline 12V DC Pump

AquaXtreme High-Flow Fitting (G 3/8" Thread, 1/2" OD) for Thermochill radiator

EK High-Flow Fitting (G 1/4" Thread, 1/2" OD)

I welcome any input.

If you live here in the states the case is called Tagan Aplus Black Pearl & can be had @ newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811294001) for $249 + shipping.

Nemesis, Start your own thread :). Itll get better exposure.
Plus, this thread is only to post completed WC'ing rigs.

PM him and ask him for English versions of his PDF files for the Cases. Then youll know what to PM him ;)

Yes Grinch the Black Pearl is exactly the same as the ll v200b but the front is not the same and it has a fan controller at the front :) And its not manufactured by Tagan its manufactured by APLUS (A+) as you can see on the blue glowing Logo on the front.

Nice!...

You still had to mod the case by the looks of it?

Was there already a place for the Triple Rad down there? Modding only for PA120.3?

What are your temps like? Also, What pump? And why CPU and GFX last in the loop? :O

Hey Been, I have changed my way of tubing now.
So I can remove and plug in my soundcard again :D

Just a link, because the pic is just too big. *klickme* (http://www.karat-leuchten.de/pc/pcneu/schlauch.JPG)

This Pic is just a test-setup. I have to clean up everything now. Also the Laing-Reservoir is removed and replaced by my other one in the front again. (fass-o-matic)

yes lowfat simple is good.
btw you should try elevating outlet of res so it is higher than inlet of pump...

what for? I had no problems bleeding it at all. Actually compared to the T-Lines i've used every other time it was a complete dream :)

its safer that way, prevents your pump from running dry, unless your pump can run dry and has some sort of high sucking power.

lowfat
05-29-2007, 06:13 PM
When the res is full, water flows right into the pump. It is only a few millimeters lower than the pump, it just looks lower in the pictures.

peebee
05-29-2007, 09:30 PM
I also think it is more important that actually the water level in the reservoir is higher compared to the inlet of the pump. And that´s given here.
