27.9k on 5900XT

I checked the ORB and saw that everyone at TOP-10 NVIDIA uses 44.03 drivers... Well, that's looks a bit unfair so we also switched to it...

Unfortunately, 44.03 have its own bug - oc dropped from 645MHz to 601MHz :( Anyway, at quite low card clocks 600/1040 (Vgpu=1.9V, Vmem=3.43V) we managed to reach 27882 points in 2k1. Actually this is #3 NVIDIA overall, only Fugger's 5950U (280xx) and Hiwayman's 5900U (290xx) are faster... So looks like its nice achievement for sub-$200 card...

Aye, btw NEVER use Vgpu over 2.0V :) Card is dead now, so i'll need a few days for repair before benching it again.

We're switching to 5700U and 9600XT now :)

TodB ( mollov from Bugarian overclockers ) and I noticed exactly the same thing with 44.03 drivers on 5700U, ie your overclock goes down but nature more than compensates

I see you gained 50fps ( assuming ssame card for Lardi ? ) so 1000 points straight off !

We've got +55 in nature +70 in drago lo and +10 in drago hi. Max i managed with 53.03 was around 26200 with 645/1050 MHz...

I just looked at it again and that score really really is massive considering how cheap the card is.

I am surprised more people have not complimented you on the score, this is one of the best benches of the year so far.

Though... Take almost $1k cpu and similar cooling system... Yes, probably cascades are more expensive, but to say that that was done on a budget system would be not so fair statement :)

WoW thats a really nice score! Im sitting with a card that does 490mhz on core and 921mz stable no mods and with stock cooling, and with my A64 3200+ at 2.4ghz (10*240) i only get 19678 3dmarks!!! Im using the newest driver that you can get from nvidia.com does it really suck that much ?

With which programm do you overclock your card with? Riva tuner only goes up to 450 mhz core :rolleyes:
What is default memory? Riva tuner detects 700 on my Aeon Aeolus 5900 XT

If you want really high clocks in rivatuner, then start oc'ing with coolbits to like 450mhz and then you can conteniue in Rivatuner
And default memory is 700mhz :)

I think my mem is 2.2Ns compared to the 2.8NS that most FX5900XT cards have, but I cant check because i epoxyed some ramsinks on my card :/

yea I also got HYN 2,2 ns
queer. my core goes up to 550 mhz tho :) with stock with mem im kinda stuck at 850.
What lodbios tweaks are there? so far i only had ati... and I only seem to be hitting 18k with 550 / 820 3,2 EE @ 3.5
is that about correct? I am using some drivers from the cd

Download the Detonator 44.03 and mod it so you can use it with the FX5900XT it gave me a 2000 pts boost!

1. I use rivatuner. Just go to "Power User" tab, find there "RivaTuner 2.0 RC14 \ Overclocking \ Global" key and there a string "MaxClockLimit". Enter "1000" there and you'll have max possible clock range (gpu up to 780, mem - 1360 for 5900XT).
2. My default mem clocks are 680MHz - it is rev. 1.0 Sparkle card with a bit lowered memory.
3. Chips have Hynix AF-28 marking but looks like they are relabeled 2.2 ns...

The 2.2's are rated for 900mhz operation, so if you can only get 800 I think you have 2.8's.

k thx for ur replies, I installed Det 44.03 and ran another 3dmark bench, wasnt really looking at my fps but i noticed nature dropped drastically and I got 1.5k score LESS then I had with the other detonators.

whats happening? Thermalthrotteling?

How are you able to set clocks with rivatuner? it keeps annoying me, when I Try "Testing" at 570 / 850 it will only Accept the mem and leave GPU at 300 mhz. Im lost...

RivaTuner don't detect clocks right each time... So most of our 5900XT runs were done "blindly" with 300/1040 clocks detected by RT. In reality everything was ok.
BTW, with 44.03 i just set 2D-clocks to maximum possible value - 600MHz and bench on 2D-clocks and voltages. We've got much more troubles with 3D-settings and 44.03 - lloks like it hates everything over 601.7MHz on gpu :( Damn, it worked at 645 on 53.03 but that give "only" 26200...

Good luck with your DI project! IT will be very nice to see a challenge in 5900XT class 'cos i was a bit bored :) Over 4k in front of #2 that was not too serious...

well Im experience difficulties with 44.03 right now ... it just wont install.
I downloaded it off the official website ( 18.4 mb ) i install it and it asks me to reboot... i reboot and after that the drivers arnt installed, i just see the folder I installed on my C:/ drive...
what could be wrong?
Edit: i just read ALT'S guide, very nice... what do you have tochange to make it work with the fx5900xt?

Well, i'm not sure that i'll be able to reach 20k on it. My girlfriend benched Sapphier Fireblade (yep, she even did voltmods by herself - i just was sitting near during the whole benching process. Well, and that was done on my system, 'cos she sold her FX-51 a couple of weeks ago...) @ 700/700 and got 18626. But this is the limit for the card with watercooling... Later i found quite interesting Powercolor's 9600XT with 2.5 ns Samsung mem chips. It does 600/800 unmodded aircooled, so maybe at least 19k will be mine... Gonna check it this weekend.
