Good question bro... I have no freakin clue. Judging by the graphics, it looks like the game is pretty damn far along in the developement process. The first shot with the chopper is simply amazing.

I can seriously only think of a few reasons why anyone would say this. Please, help me out if I'm missing something...
1. You haven't figured out how to make the game run at a playable rate (60fps minimum)
2. You always join the VC side, submitting yourself to their horrible language being constantly shoted over the radio at you, as well as their pathetic weaponry
3. You just suck
Other then those reasons, I seriously can't figure out how anyone could not like that game.

Read that the game should be out by "spring 2005"

Is not one side sucking a cause for concern
They were running a rebate so I picked it up even though I am trying to stick with UT04 and farcry for now. My framerates are good, and I'm comfortable with sucking since i always have at patient fps... I'm trying!
Maybe as I play more I'll find some appeal to vietnamese. From the looks of it they mostly just have a better spawn system.
It is a free country err... net. But yeah... It is nice when someone elaborates other than "this sucks." I do have issue with number 2 on your list.

I agree, the sides need balancing.
I was playing on the US side the other day, and we were getting consistently OWNED every round by the VC... it was pathetic. We even had about 4 more players on our side... they were just annhilating us. The sides aren't as gimped as most make it out to be. The only major drawback I can see is the LAW paired with the m60. Kind of overpowered, but its true to life.
I guarantee BF2 will be off the hook.

I agree, it has to be one the worst I've played. Maybe with BF2 they will actually let the game be completed before shipping it. But then again thats not EA style.

Okay:
BF2 looks good, but it might be the next America's army. Used for army training, or at least the goal of it. The realism is supposed to be very high, expect to see a great physics enguine and a slightly better graphics improvement over BF:V. We will have to wait and see before real oppinions can be passed.
BF: Modern Combat is for the PS2 only.

gets boring and repetative fast. Every level feels the same. I got more than acceptable framerates with it. I could kill with best of em. I played bf1942 like a mofo all the time. This one just felt like a half way done rehash and I thought it wasn't good. Hence i think it sux.

Won't be to realistic... if it were would it not consist of a thorough pounding by the US? Hell I'm claiming, realistic or not, get these vietnamese guns a bit more kick somehow!
