will a compressor designed for R22 work with 507? From what i've found 507 is a replacement for R22, and only requires +50 PSI on the discharge line of the compressor to work.

BTW, where IS the best place to buy a compressor online? I've searched and searched, but can't find a reseller. Lookin for a good danfoss or tecumsah for R-507

Yep :D you can pretty much use any compressor for any gas I believe.

I'm from upstate NY. From what i've seen i'm just gonna be better off buying a whole air conditioner and using the components for a direct die application. Still...anyone know of a good reseller?

WOOT...just won a Danfoss SC12MLX off of ebay for 52 bucks. Not bad, eh? Priced these over 150 new. This particular compressor was one of a whole shippment that slipped off of a pallet. Pictures only show minor cosmetic scratchs. Seller says there will be many more going on ebay, so if you are lookin' for one keep an eye out. Listed as a Refrigerator Compressor HVAC Air Conditioner. Do a search on ended auctions if you wanna see a pic of what i'm talkin about.

ML indicates a MBP compressor designed for R404A/R507. It contains POE oil. It needs no oil change.
