Was just wondering if you guys use copper gaskets or any other form of sealant when using flexible refrigeration hoses such as the ones sold at rparts.com joined with brass flare fittings or is the flare on the hoses reliable?
Thanks

I use flare washers and a blue thread sealer that comes in a tube. They work well.:D

Flare washers, im assuming they are the same thing as the copper gaskets rparts.com carries. The blue thread sealer, is this something like lock-tite? Do you have a brand name or place you buy it from.
Thanks for the reply runmc.
Oh by the way, see your from Texas, what part if you dont mind me asking...

The flare washers are the same thing as the round copper gaskets. I like them.
The blue paste is called Leak Lock and I got mine at Johnstones Supply. I would imagine you can get it at most refrigeration supply. It's blue and thick like tooth paste. Mine came in a tube, but you can get it in a larger jar.
I am from Arlington. Ever been there??:D
