Been offered to buy a Mach1 to a very reasonable price but of course there is a catch.

The guy bought it from another guy that told him something about it´s been modified.
Maybe changed the gas...who knows.

The guy that now sells it say that he can´t get it to work, it doesn´t fire up the motherboard after it reaches the right temperature.
Configured to release at -42 Celsius.

The unit is Lian-Li modified.

I have built one Mach1 rig to my friend but cannot say I know much about them.

Any ideas if the problem easily can be fixed?
Just dont want to buy a non repairable unit :)

Know that the information I have is not much...but cannot get more right now.

Edit: Price is about $358 and also has an Lian-Li kit

Well theres something wrong with the electrical than... You can jump start it with an old ATX or AT PSU

There is nothing that that could not be fixed, some things may be a bit expensive, but still repairable. The described problem is in the electronic portion of the mach1, sounds as if the mechanical/refrigeration portion is fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it were just a wiring or compatibility issue. regardless you will still be able to repair. And even if you could not get replacment parts immediately you can still use it, you'll just have to cycle everything on manually.

Thanks for the answers!

I also mailed Nventiv and they answered like this:
The start up problem might be caused by the Mach I reset issue.

What is Mach1 reset issue and how to avoid it?

Some motherboards cannot stay in reset mode, so they are not compatible with the Mach I startup mechanism. To avoid it, use a compatible motherboard, or do it like afireinside said.
