hello there ! PLZ READ WHOLE MESSAGE AND GIVE YOUR OPINIONS !

I live in israel, and there's no regular import of dfi mobo's here.

so when i wanted an infinity for my brother - i went and got one from a guy sending me the mobo from the states.

now, i've heard of all the dfi problems - but this mobo was working and tested by the guy who sold me the mobo.

then i got to AMDMB and found dfi support forum - and wow !

I missed two-three heart beats like hell ....

So many dead boards - and i thought Abit has lack of quality control !

now - i am not looking for a crazy oc - it's a mobo for my small brother - i'm gonna use this rig -

mobile xp 2500 + 2X512 mb mushkin lvl1 pc3200 -

as for the ram - i still can't get an answer if it have voltage limit of 2.9V - a claim that i heard here - and can't get confirmation about.

i am looking for something like 216X11.5 - it's all air cooled and just a gaming rig for a 14 yrs old kid.

Vc is 9700NP.

now, since i can't rma my board in less then a month .... -

should i ebay the mobo and get a NF7 instead ?
is bios savior the solution for this mobo - as many say most of the problems are bios related ?

what do u say ? my brother is waiting a lot of time for this rig - and i don't want to get it passed away after a week or two ...

plz help me decide - any one who reads - plz give me your opinion !

thnx !

Oh, as to why you should use a bios saviour?

Bascially these boards suffer from bios corruption as with other nforce2 based boards, having a bios saviour means you wont have this problem and wont have to hot flash. :)

if u r the only one answering - perhaps u can answer me on another two questions m8 !

1. do u know if the ch-5 by mushkin are volt limited ?
2. i plan using slk900a with infinity - what do u think of it ?
should i bother to take the sp-97 with neo back plate and all
that stuff or is the slk900a good enough for 2500-2600mhz ?
of course with 92mm fan ...

1. Not that i know of, i cant speak from experience but my old corsair CH5 liked 3.0V ;)

2. Do you already have the slk900a? If not the SP97 is better but you will DEFINITLY need the neo backplate tho, $5 + $4 shipping direct from thermalright ( sales@thermalright.com ). This is of course if the SP97 doesnt come with it, my SLK900U came with the old backplate which doesnt fit at all. TBH, i only thought the 948U came with the neo plate

no - you r right - only 948U is coming with neo plate - but if i am buying from jab-tech or frozencpu - and i am - this stores sell neo back plate for 5-6 bucks - so if i am getting it with sp-97 and as well as bios savior - i should buy everything from the same store ....

Yep that would be the best bet, although thermalright was quick (taiwan - uk in less than a week) you would be better off getting it all from the same store to cut delivery cost and ensure they arrive at the same time :)
