I just bought an xp2500 mobile cpu, and I'm overclocking it.... whenever I try a multiplier of 13 or higher my computer will not boot. I seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a "wire trick" that will allow you to use multipliers of 13 and higher... anybody know what that is and maybe even have a picture?
Thanks....
When you say the "wire trick" are you refering to the L12 mod? If so, then that won't help you. The L12 mod only does good for high FSB.
What the L12 does is convert your 266FSB to 333FSB by default, in theory, giving you better fsb. As for the high multiplyer not working. I'm experiencing the same thing with my 8RDA3+. It won't go over 12... I think it's a BIOS issue.

Alot of older boards (including some nforce2's if I recall) only offer multi's 5-12.5 or 13-25 depending on what your chips default multi is. Only way to fix it is to cut and connect bridges on the chip to change the default multi to be either 13+ or 12.5- depending on which multis you need access to. It's a pain in the ass, and really not worth it nowadays.

the only nforce2 boards that I know of that open all mults' are the Abits, DFI and Leadteks.
My Asus wouldn't go past 12.5x

my old FIC AU13 (nforce2), let me go all the way up to 24. I ran @ 100x24 and 133x18 to compare it to a 2.4 ghz P4 clock-for-clock.
