I bought 2, there is limit of 2 per customer so I assume they have a bunch.
May or may not softmod but for $109 or whatever is a damm good deal. Will be as fast or faster than a 9600pro for cheaper :)

you know chances are since they are refurbs that people already tried to softmod them and couldn't so they returned them. I highly doubt they will succesfully softmod.
PS, what does this have to do with xtreme overclocking

well just thought people would like to know and this section gets most visiblity. Plus since they have MULTIPLE items I think they probably got a "batch" back from RMA from Saphire, so they probably are new refurbs. I could be wrong, and they in all probability won't softmod, but at $109 it's a damm fast card for cheap.

plus I figure the L shaped ones go for about $150 on ebay anyway :)

I'm fairly certain these are not the L-shaped cards. Newegg must have put the wrong picture up. First of all, the description states 128-bit, and secondly, when you click 'Product Link' within the description, it takes you to the Sapphire page about the 128-bit card.

well if that's the case I guess I'll just rma them stated they provided wrong picture etc...
:O
oh well live and learn
I checked their regular stock and it appears they offer 2 varieties. One with 128bit bus and one with labled 128bit but actually 256bit bus. Now if the 256bit is enabled or not, I dunno. But in reviews looked like 3/4 soft modded. These are probably returns so didn't soft mod, but to me if they run about 14k in 3dmark for $100 that's good enough.

if those are 256 bits, even without a softmod, itll own a $150 9600xt. great deal I say. would probably be at least as fast as a ti4600 but with dx9's eyecandy. for that cheap, I might even want one of those myself, I can softmod it to get high 3dmarks(ignoring the artifacts) and reverse the mod but overclock it for games and it should match a stock 9700 pro

It should be similar to this the card, shown amongst two others, in this review.

The Sapphire 9800SE's seem be on 9700 PCB, while the PowerColor 9800SE's are on a 9800 PCB.

it'll own a $150 9600xt, yes. But what about a $160 refurb 9800 or a $175 refurb 9800pro? Compairing prices of refurbs to retail price isn't very fair.
My refurb, softmodded 95$ 9600np kicked the living hell out of a 150$ 9600xt... but since I bought about 12 before I got one that modded perfectly, and it came barebones refurb, I wouldn't call it a better buy. (Unless I had been guarenteed it would softmod.)
That said, I'd never buy a 9600 card of any model, 9800's are worth the extra money most definately. So if we are going to compair.
A (possibly) 256bit (possibly) softmoddable 9800se for 109$ versus a 3 year warranteed 9800 nonpro for 179$? I really gotta say, if you're buying now, get the 9800... or if not, wait till the next generation comes out and hope it is twice as fast as 9800's, and buy a sub 125$ 9800.

nah this is incorrect, my 9600XT scored higher at stock speeds than my 9800SE 256bit at stock in 3dmark03. I can't remember the exact scores, but the 9800SE came out slower by around 150-200pts. It will beat a 9600pro at stock though, by around 400pts.
Once softmodded, there was no competition of course ;)

well these are cards for my 4-5th machines not my main rigs
I got 9800XT, 5900, 9700pro's to go better. But I thought wtf and just grabbed these for the hell of it.
