All I can say is for Over THREE TIMES THE MONEY($769.00 and $685.00), These 3.2EE Refurbs Aren't Worth It!:(
My $219 3.0C SL6WK Beat them HANDS DOWN!
I'm RMA'ing BOTH Back to Newegg(Maybe!) and buying More for my Phase Change Project.:toast:

yeah. I coulda told you that. Knowledge from as far back as the celly1 days. More cache = less average max speed. Newer revisions obviously helps improve speed, but let's face it. Intel hasn't had the goods to push .13 much more since northwoods came out. So really the only advantage of EE's is going to be hoping you get lucky and can match your NW speed, and the fact that it's an EE gives you a boost.
What the hell happened with .09? Weren't both intel and amd supposed to have it by now?
Wow, one and a half grand for cpus. I thought I was crazy when I spent 300$ on my ghz slot A back in the day. Don't worry about newegg, some poor sap will buy these cpus from them and start bragging about his L33T EE which will surely benefit him 6 months down the road when we have cpus that can hit 3.25/5ghz easily for amd/intel... which we paid less than half the money for. I'm not sure how exactly that works out... but I'm sure it's my failing... not the idea's. ;)

I was just trying to see how much of an OC I could get, Not worried about 3DMark Scores, Ran my 9800XT at default.
No big deal, Like I said Before, Already Talked to Newegg about RMA's.
They are refunding me with NO Restocking Fee's, just like they have done in the past when I have sent them Refurbs or New CPU's back 'cause THERE WAS NO SEAL TO BREAK on the OEM plain box items(NOT the SEALED BOX Items !).
Gave It a Shot, but you can never tell which ones will OC good 'til you try it! ;)

why is your ran running sub ddr400 speeds?
your sig said 230mhz, easily within 5:4 range...
are you gonna atleast keep the 2nd one? or at minimum, see what it can do with your 9800XT at 500/405 like your sig says?

got 240/240 1:1 @3841, but nogo at 245(reboots)
Might keep second one, gonna start on my new phase change system, just wanted to do some testing since I had the opportunity to try the 3.2EE's.

are these stable oc for all cpus and its seems that you may have gotten higher cpu speed out of the 3.0, but your scores are betting with the EE's.

ok, but why did you skip straight to 3:2? or does your board have issues with 5:4?
you might wanna try out that cpu at 3.84ghz with the ram that high... if timings are good, might come close to your 4ghz scores.

pkrew,
I was just running my 9800 at default to see how high FSB's I could get with the 3.2EE's.
Gonna do some more testing later at higher settings on my VC.

Have had issues with 5:4 with my ASUS,don't know how to overcome them yet, but still trying.

Not really a good apples to apples there. That FSB will make a lot of difference and help the 3C keep pace. In addition, there are better apps out there which demonstate the EEs performance better than 3D01.
Even so, no the EEs aren't worth the cash performance wise.
On the other hand, although I paid an arm and a leg for my EE last October, it remains the longest running CPU I've ever used in my main testing/gaming rig. If I wait until the 939 pin FX arrives before switching again, I'll have had the CPU for 6 months. Based upon my old trends of buying CPUs all the time, I have actually saved money:)

I am running a 3.2EE at 3.76Ghz (235 FSB)....not QUITE stable at 240 FSB (3.84Ghz) using WCing. I can run my RAM 1:1 since it's BH-5 (2-2-2-5). My 3DMark 2001 score with a 9800 Pro (clock speeds in sig) are just over 20K.

that seems rather low for what you're running. I got over 21K running a p4C at 3.3 and a np at 460/320 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7712268
and I know macci got 19.5K on a stock 3.2C and a stock pro

Those scores seem very low for a EE running that high. My 3.2EE running at 240 fsb 1:1 ( Corsair XMS 3500 BH5) with a 9800Xt at 530 core 430 mem gets 26.1k in 3dmark 2001. My setup is all watercooled (CPU/NB/GPU) so with a vapo on your setup i would be expecting a lot more. With the video card at stock speeds i still got 24k.
pump up the vcore! 1.8v is not enough.. 1.85 - 1.9v is goooood.. to the EE.

:D Just preliminary results for right now,
Was worn out last night from trying to test everything in a short period of time.
And YES, I am going to keep ONE of the 3.2EE's for a lot more in depth testing, I just wanted to make sure I keep the best of the two and get my $769 Back for the other BEFORE the RMA date has passed! :p:
At work now, will try to see if I can get higher results using 1:1 and OC on my 9800XT.
I'm Not Done Yet!:toast:

I've been asking for help! I don't know why I am getting only 20K...I've been thinking it should be at 25K+ but I'm not sure why it's so low...

You are running 1:1 correct?
And you are sure you have double checked your vid clock rates?
What vid settings are you using? Have you adjusted the card to run in "performance" mode? AA and AF off?

I think I found part of the problem I've been having trying to get past 240fsb 1:1 with my 3.2EE,
It's my Ram running dual channel!
I took out one stick of KHX3200(256) and got better, even though I had to loosen the timing up some(and lost some 3DMark points),but I managed to run at 250/250 1:1.
I guess it's NOT the CPU like I thought!:)
I believe I need Faster Memory.....But What type? I thought the 3200 bh-5 ram I got was very good.
Evidently I have to get some 3500 or 4200!
Here's 245/245 1:1

How many volts are you feeding your memory?

Get some Geil PC4200. Mine does 285+ with 2.8v.

04-15-2004, 07:23 PM
my el 4200 ocz would do 290 2.5-3-4-6 on my old 3.0c with only 2.9v

ATM , I'm giving my Ram 3.46v!
I'm thinking I can break this 250fsb barrier by running 5:4, gonna' try it tonight.

very nice, you definitely need some better ram.

I haven't voltmodded my ic7-g, so 2.8 is the most I can give my ram.

Here's something Strange,
Just for the H*** of it ,I put a single stick of OCZ PC3200 in it and got This:
Notice that CPU-Z says the ram is PC2700!

only 800mhz oc on the cpu? surely it can hit higher? may gain u the needed 600marks (might!)

I"m SURE I can do better,
Just waiting on some more Ram to arrive,
I traded two KHX PC3200/256/bh-5 sticks for two OCZ PC3500/256/bh-5 Platinum Limited Edition sticks, and if that doesn't do it, I bought two 256 sticks of OCZ PC4400 550Mhz!
I'll Keep on Tryin' till I find SOMETHING that'll WORK! :bsod:
