My friends mobo has died on him, he said one of his friends or somethin hit a load of keys on his keyboard.
He has checked the CPU etc but when he boots it he says it gets power but there is nothing on the screen.
This is the mobo.

Any idea what could be up with it ?

Does he get a long beep or is it just silent? If it does a long beep it should be that the memory isnt well seated. If it is silent it is most likely a dead processor. However I dont see how hitting a bunch of keys would hurt it, unless he was in the bios. Also, has he tried clearing the CMOS?

Ask him about the beaps and tell him to re-seat the memory.

Thats what i was thinking, do you recon Gigabyte would send out a new bios chip if it was that causing the problem ?

Thats what happened with my Infinity ultra. When i pushed it to 250fsb and killed the bios there was nothing but black. I put everything in my NF7-S and all was fine. If your friend has a spaire mobo swap everything over. Good luck.
