View Full Version : Problem with Superpi 32m (mainly)...

I noticed when doing the greater superpi calculations about 8m to 32m I am very slow....

I already had sth like 33,5min but now I only get over 40minutes :(

Dunno what else to try - tried sp2 and sp3 for win2k, and new nforce drivers, I use cat 3.5 (but does not matter?!), pci raid like shown in sig... etc. etc.

What could it be??? A friend of mine has faster times with same board (DFI LP B) and only 2,56GHz at 256fsb, I had 2,866Ghz and 260fsb everything maxed out... I tried different bioses and I know them now, in and out... ;)

I do not remember exactly if my best time was done with my nf7-s before or if it was the infinity (1st of 5), I bought last year in november...

Anyone ever noticed sth like that?

Use WinXP or Win2003 instead of W2K for Big superpi runs.
W2K gives awful results for that bench.

Thx macci

But iirc I used win2k for my run...

Maybe I am gonna try 2003... how does it perform 3d-wise???

set system priority to system cache

Right win2000 no good.

Use 64 bit OS if your CPU support that. I found 2003server64 a little better than XP64.

Do you agree on that Macci?
I use realtime and priority to programs

Have to improve that, still waiting for the FX-53 hard to get. Corsair 3500LLPT ready :D

Um... I do not EXACTLY have a 64bit cpu ;)

But I 'll try the priority setting...

My problem is, I did it before with what I have besides the LP B (board) but it was nearly the same board (infinity is the low cost variant of the Lanparty)...

I wondered how that could be.

Hmm. Searching for the setting yesterday... I remember I had it somewhere... but later:

It's been XP that I know it from... on the other system :(

I only have like background/programs... doesn't do anything.

What happens if you back down on the clocks a little?

@Fewture

Nothing :( (P.S. Mach1 is dead :( )

But anyway I wanted to know how to improve it to the levels I was at before...

I think it's all 'bout fsb :D Tightest timings and 263MHz do alot for efficiency ;)

I wonder what it would be with my barton under phasechange... hope I soon get it going :)

Yeah. The first pic was the cause why I started this thread...

I could not believe it I should not be able to break my older records, BUT even being extremely bad-performing with those clocks... 11x260 should have been better. That's what I thought :)

A friend of mine had 33m50sec with a mobile barton at 256x10 and I am crouching around at 41m+???

And I tried to make it clear here, to ask for other's experiences, in order to get it going again...

And I was good at it :D I just dunno what I did, but obviously it worked

That's not bad for 256kb tbred at 2.5Gig, is it? Just under 34min :D
