Ok, bh-5 is going away whether we like it or not. Latencies are only going to get worse from hear on out. So I would like to ask some guys who have some pc4x00 memory to do some comparitive tests to bh-5/6. I am about to go for a big oc with new hardware and I dont want to go through the hassle of buying expensive bh-5 and then putting an ungodly like amount of voltage to get less of an fsb then with stock voltage pc4400. However I dont want crap performance. So would getting maybe 20mhz more on the fsb make up for the relaxed timings? I DO NOT want any opinions to make this thread be another worthless bh-5 thread. I want actual results and comparisons!
Thanks in advance

i dont know if this to do with anything ,but...
When switching from 256mb BH5 @ 250mhz 2/2/2/11 to 512mb geil @ 200mhz 3/4/4/8, the performance increase was incredible!

i know you want results and stuff. but its not just BH-5 thats disappearing. Winbond is stopping production on all their chips period. no more BH-6 or CH-5 either.
what you should keep an eye out for is OCZ 3500EB. Anandtech is calling it the best performing memory theyve ever tested. heres info: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33159&highlight=ocz%2A+AND+3500eb%2A

long story short... you are better of with 5:4 memory at low latency, then getting the latest pc4200 at high latency with a 1:1 div. I have seen people mention this on various forums, and have verified it in my own testing, pretty much at any FSB, 5:4 ram divider at 2-2-2, beats 1:1 at 2.5-3-3, and totally blows away 1:1 at 3-4-4 (not necessarily just mem benchies, but actual game benchies)
I tested with some PC4000 that ran stable up to 260 2.5-4-4-8 vs my own PC3500
260 1:1 2.5-4-4-8 (ram at 260)
3DM2001 - 20074
UT2003 - 253/80 (flyby/botmatch)
Aquamark3 – 51300
260 5:4 2-2-2-5 (ram at 208)
3DM2001 - 20440
UT2003 - 258/82 (flyby/botmatch)
Aquamark3 – 51891
Now... If you can pump voltage and get your bh-5 at 250-260 1:1 2-2-2-5 it completley destroy's PC4200
BTW, Twinmos just released DDR2 at speeds of 400, 533 and 667. They are not getting out of the DRAM business yet.

Thank you very much retrospooty! That was exactly what i was looking for! However I was wondering, does anyone have any 1:1 amd comparison for both?

I dont, but I am pretty sure with AMD you want to keep it 1:1 , so get the highest FSB, with the lowest latency that 1:1 can offer you.

Yeah I know... and I want to see how big the difference in the latencies would be in this situation. Im wondering if I should buy the crap latency mem and get more fsb or get bh-5/6 and less fsb. So that is why I want to see a 1:1 amd comparison.

I know you don't want a BH-5 thread, but if at all possible, get that. It does not get any better than Bh-5. Latency is king.

i really wonder why winbond stopped making memory... they had the best suff on the market, and still have... everybody wants their product and pays ridiculous high prices and then they decide to leave the memory town
there is still a lot of bh5 memory here in europe, its expesnive though... i bet some companies still have a small stock of bh5 and will sell it in a few weeks when the request for bh5 grew even bigger and they can make more money with it.
