I'm having a hard time trouble shooting an OC problem, and I hope you guys can help.
When I set my vcore in BIOS to 1.575, it actually is at 1.55v, which is fine b/c I can compensate for it. Whenever I set the vcore at 1.6v or higher, it bounces like crazy under load. I set it 1.65v last night, and saw it jump around from 1.65 to 1.6v just idling. This is really causing me trouble when I'm trying to OC my CPU higher, b/c I can't over 1.55v. Is this caused by my Achieve 500W PSU that came in my case, or is this caused by my Max3? I'm thinking its the PSU, since I've never heard of Achieve, but what do you guys think?

i've got a max 3 as well, but with an antec truepower 430, and i get the same voltage reporting. It;s my assumption that the max 3 simply undervolts. Motherboard monitor shows fluctuations but abit eq reports a solid line.

The problem you're having seems a bit larger then normal, but all the 875/865 boards do undervolt by quite a bit, and often vary by considerably rude amounts. There is a droop mod to correct that for the asus boards, but nobody has come forth with one for the IC7 (or any abit boards) as of yet. It would be worth it to try another psu though, but I would make sure you could return it. (incase the undervolting stays the same)

Both the max3's that I've had and the AI7 I have undervolt, but I don't get the fluctuations that you're getting. The Asus that I have overvolts. I'd see if I could borrow another psu and see if it corrected the problem. If not then I'd start thinking its the mb

Thanks, I e-mailed Abit about it, and they said that my power regulators on the board could be going out? That I shouldn't see that much fluctuating.
BTW: I noticed my rails never drop or suffer under load. All of the fans due seem to slow down under load, almost like you can "hear" when it goes under load. I really hope its the PSU, I don't wanna wait on Abit to send me a new one

Abit does crossship. You have to pay up front for the board but they'll send you a replacement and when you get it you just send the bad one back. Once they recieve the bad board they refund the money
