Using an ABit MAX3 Board with OCZ PC4400 memory!
Which config is gonna be best:
2 x 512Mb sticks, or;
4 x 256Mb sticks.
Hmmmmm.........;)
Whatchya think folks?

I would say 2x512 cos that leaves u wiv option of upgrading if u wanted to :)
But 512Mb sticks are double sided, a lot of people have better luck with single sided 256Mb chips :)
Up to you but IMO 2x512Mb.

Yeah I have the 2 x 256MB the max I can get on my system is 285 but won't benchmark, just OS and CPUID. Most likely though its my mobo holding me back as my max is 2.85v, with 3.1 or so you should be able to take this stuff the 300MHz 1:1.
Running MAM in Sandra I get around 6.0 - 6.14GB/s
Running PAT would be more efficient and probably get you around 6.3-6.5GB/s @ 275 1:1

Thing is lads, would using 4 x 256 modules affect my OC capabilities?
Memory saturation accross the both dual channels does usually yeild LESS bandwidth & tbqh, I aint too worried at that. I just dont want to loose my 285fsb OC using 4 x 256Mb modules.
My supplier isn't very forgiving when it comes to returning. :(

If all modules can handle it, id's say it won't affect it, I know a guy that does 245MHz 24/7 with 4 sticks of Infineon 2700 ;) Think he's here in the forums too :)

The board will be stressed too much and your OC will suffer, I recommend 2x512.

I'm thinking the same m8y & hanker after 2 x 512`s tbh.
Been OCing too long & know that 4 modules can be a real pain!
Gunno do the 2 x 512's.
Thanks for the pointers lads. Cheers!
