I need to put some pictures of this new FX-53 I got today on there:D

No sure havn't.

As far asthe FX-53 it's doing good so far.
I just got it going on my 404A MachI.

I still havn't left 1.5V and it runs 3D03 with out a hick up at 2800 MHz.

Exciting news, even on air these FX 53's are doing 2.5-2.6 in the reviewers hands.

Have you got two cascades again Opp ? Or is CC still constructing after one was unfortunate ?

Nice results on the proc!

Opp, I've often wondered, are you typically lucky on getting good hardware? Does it take you a few tries to get the winning hardware?

Now don't take this as me saying no skill is involved in your acomplishments, just curious because I know how many P4C's I went through before i found an exceptional one...

It will be 3200 3Dable with cascade cooling.

After 1.9V and being at 3100MHz this chip just gets to hot to get stable it seems.

3100 will be good fun to play with though.

wow that is insane! 3.2GHz!!!!!!!! the fx51's were speedbinned at 2.2GHz while the 53's start 200MHz higher so they may be newer steppings and/or better cores able to oc higher with less volts, thus gaining you 200MHz on top of your old fx 51. Do you still have the champ ram that did like 252fsb and your 9800xt, is it still capable of the same clocks that got you 31.3k in 2001 and 9.8 in 2003? How many marks is another 200MHz worth? enough for 10k in 2003 and 32k in 2001? :D

This stock at 2400MHz Macci.

JC,

I took off the spreader first thing. One thing I noticed when doing it, the job seemed sloppy, there was more black epoxy on side and you could hardly see it on the other.
Once the epoxy was cut the spreader just feel off, usually the spreader will stick to the core alittle from the tim,, unlike this one.
The tim job was bad, core had some untouched clean areas. I bet this chip would loose 100MHz, who knows. This could be the reason your 53s arn't so great. But then again you may have taken off the spreader all ready:D

Here's the chip INFO:

Hmm, they have steppings all over the place on these. I've seen:
CAASC
AAASC
SAASC
AAAIC
and yours, AAABC

I've never seen so many steppings on such a limited release.

I ended up with cracked corners under the weight of a water block on a A64 and a FX51 previously, so I am a bit shy of doing that again. Anyone else see any corner cracks when removing the naked A64/FX chips? When I leave the spreader on, I always over tighten it a bit to keep it compressed on the die. Seems to help a little.

dangerous?? From the guy who builds 13 stage, 55,000PSI, BARIUM26 cooled "Chernobyl stable" CPU chillers??

Hmmm....a little frost-bite or having a 2 lb. chunk of metal go flying through my body, the wall and lodging in the neighbors 1962 Ford F-150 engine block...

these don't matter. what matters though it "F" in the third line code. These usually o/c very high at stock volts. I bet OPP's chip is either "F3" or "F44" so that means straight from AMD.

Its a much more controlled enviroment though. Its kind of like comparing the power of a super soaker to using a hose (in a waterfight :D) Sure the super soaker can pack more of a punch, but you have to constantly pump it up and stuff, whereas with the hose, you don't shoot quite as far, and it requires a bit more setup, but once you've got the hose, you're untouchable :D
(sorry if that analogy was close to 100% retarted.)
Plus the term "a little frost-bite" doesn't exactly describe the result of spilling ln2 :p:

OPP that is an amazing chip!

arent casades made with several stages of prometeias? like one chills to -20c the 2nd chills to -70c third down to -100, forth to -120c fifth to -133c, youd need many stages, diminishing returns after 3 stages.

No my FX-51 still works 7/24 at 32xx mhz now with Corsair RE 3500 going 2-2-5-2 fsb 250-260 as you Eric.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?postid=347194#post347194

At the moment only air on the ATI, blown 2 prommy..

Waiting for my final cascade with 18" 18" -115 C full load
The "old" prototype cascade then going to the ATI (just tried core 645:D , but stabil)

Waiting for my FX-53 aming for 3400-3500 :D

Btw nice homepage Opp, picture seems a little old :D
Why are you going multi 14 Eric? 13 must be better.

Slow down Tom,

I havn't even caught up with your FX-51 yet:D

I was useing 14 multi for testing, I had a Video card that can't do much over 230MHz FSB so i was keeping it low.

Nice clocks:toast:

Yea, Macci's right the 24.21 was with the old Corsair ER3200 v 1.0

I have not been benching so mutch lately, (the 2 broken prommy, no god grafx) and the final cascade not finish yeat

2 weeks ago I almost done a M32 with 3120 Mhz going 260 cas 2-8-2-2 that "died" about 20 min... at that ramspeed the HD might korrupt the OS. Then windows have to be reinstalled.
The time would have been 23.xx :D :slobber:

After 1.9V and being at 3100MHz this chip just gets to hot to get stable it seems.

3100 will be good fun to play with though.

How is life going with the FX-53? Haven't seen any news lately
I put the FX-53 in my "old" cascade at -112C today.
Nice toy:D
It can bench at 3300
