I've tried 3:2 and 5:4 ratios at up to 3.2 Vdimm and 1.792 Vcore along with Clockgen at 66,72,and 80 AGP,but every time I try to do a few MHz over 300, The screen either goes black or drops out of 3DMark2001se.
I Know that my 9800XT has problems with running over 300, but has anyone found a way to overcome this Wall!
I'm sure this 2.4c D1 chip has a lot more to offer if i could just find a way............

Um, what cooling do you have? Maybe you have overheated. Also, what voltages are you using?

Using Vapo XE on cpu(-23C) and 172w pelt (13C) on gpu.
1.664 Vcore/3.2Vdimm

um, try increasing voltage of core a bit. MAybe 1.67.

Sometimes a ilttle difference in voltage can increase stability alot.

had it all the way up to 1.85 but no go.
Since the system does not crash(just goes back to the desktop) I don't think it's the cpu, 'cause it does it at any Vcore setting

Maybe the game is corrupt. What is the temp of the cpu AND graphics?

CPU at -11 and GPU at 13C (Running 3DMark).
Reloaded Game Numerous times, still the same.

Maybe you just can't get to 300FSB! Maybe it's just your chip.

Just seems funny to me that if the CPU limit has been reached, the system will usually Shut down, but all it does is either go black screen or drops back to the desktop(system stays on!)
I had my other CPU's (2.26 and 2.4B) crash the system when their limits were reached.

you wouldnt happen to be running drives off the ich5r would you?

i'm using the primary IDE connector because I have read somewhere else in the forums where RAID setups could cause this problem.

yes your correct. having drives on the intel controller wont get you past 300 :(
have you tried using clockgen this way? first increase the agp to 72. apply it. then proceed to increase the fsb. dont apply them both at the same time. also try setting the bios fsb at 290 and then increase the fsb with clockgen.
im running 350mhz FSB on my board..
disable ALL onboard devices..
such as: lan, sound, raid and firewire.. set the agp/pci speed at 80/40 with clock gen..
boot up at 295mhz FSB and 66/33 agp/pci.
iam running 88/44 apg/pci with my board.
also disable HT.

You don't get any harddrive corruption with 44mhz pci bus?
Hallowen, it sounds kind of like your mobo needs some mods to do 300mhz+ fsb, not sure if there are any out for the p4c800 with the purpose of getting a higher fsb though.

Thanks dpa, I'll try them this evening.
lalPOOO, I have droop & Vdimm mods, what other kind of mods can I do to change the P4C800D frequency?

my experiance with 3dmark dropping back to the desktop is when vcore is too low. i think you need the droop mod.

Appreciate that enzoR, but like I stated before, I have both the droop And Vdimm mods.

sry... i didnt read the whole thread as i'm in school. ummmm try raising your pci/agp though the BIOS, and increase your agp voltage
