i recently bought the OCZ dual gold pc4000 512 mb which came heighly recommended in many sites and mounted them on a ASUS p4p800 deluxe running with a Pentium 2.6 ghz and Zalman Copper cooler . at the moment its running at 3.29 ghz ( 253 mhz x 13 ) ram at vol 2.75 with timings at (2.5 ,3 ,3 ,6) .

Before it was set to 250 mhz with no errors and auto-restarts so i decided to put it up to 253 which is still ok at the moment . vcore is set to 1.6 volts . I mostly use my pc for online gaming , what would you do if it was your rig always keeping in mind that its for games . thanks .

id keep cranking it and testing the memory with memtest via a bootable cd. you are running 1:1 right?

to be honest im not sure what you are asking.

i want to tweak the bios settings and squeeze whatever it can take as long as it stays stable with low cas timings .

well get a hold of memtest first and make a bootable cd (if you havent already) as this is a good test of memory and if any errors are occuring. then try 1fsb increases at a time and increase the ram voltage to help get a little more out of the ram (if errors pop up).

Have you tried running 5:4 to see the max speed of the CPU?

Try 5:4 to see where you chip is maxing out :)

BTW, Glocks aren't perfection. If you want a perfect plastic handgun the H&K USP is the
ticket :) No exploding .40 cals with their unsupported chamber. Oh, and I can run :banana::banana::banana:ed and locked :)

Here's some pointers for Memtest:

Maybe that will help you.

OCZ PC4000 Gold will not run at 5:4 (I already tried).. The Hynix chips on them don't like it..

But mine will do 277 FSB 1:1 @ 2.5-4-4-7 and 2.9V (does 290 FSB stable at 3.2V), But I might have gotten lucky and got a good set of Ram..

Try upping your Vdimm voltage to the Max (should be 2.85V) and try 2.5-4-4-7.. If you are up to 253FSB @ 2.5-3-3-6, you have a good set. Mine would only go up to 243 FSB at those timings.

OCZ PC4000 Gold will not run at 5:4 (I already tried)

They do on the DFI Lanparty 875 :) But, it looks to me prelimarily that the Asus is a better 1:1 clocker.
