View Full Version : SL6WU Mach II cooled
I know ur all thinking ....'not another SL6WU thread'. But for those who are intersted here's what i currently have on my prommie, i havn't tested any higher yet ...easy does it :p: ...this was at 1.6v vcore in BIOS. This speed has been running prime for almost 9 hours and then i stopped it. I will try find the outer most highest stable speed tomorrow ;) ...so bare with me.
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/selffers-sl6wu40new.jpg
As far as benches go ...my poopie DDR 500 ram drags the scores down dramatically.
results till now (all prime stable tested):
15x240 @ default vcore @ stock HSF
15x245 @ 1.6v @ stock HSF
15x250 @ 1.7v @ stock HSF
15x255 @ default vcore @ Mach II
15x260 @ 1.6v @ Mach II
15x267 @ 1.6v @ Mach II
Think maybe 200+ mhz more shud be highly doable on Mach II, since if u also notice, it doesn't hit 4G on air stable, can boot 3.9 (but not stable). Overall, big improvement on my 2.4c, so im happy, great chip tho. pot luck is always a factor.

My temp under load @ 4G @ 1.6vcore is -30C on MBM and -48C on MACH II screen. I'll crack her up more later tonight.

Try give her some more juice & get the fsb cranking!!!
Mine's doing 278fsb in a Vapo PE TI @ 1.675v (1.65v showing in MBM, Cpu-Z & goes from 1.65v-1.6v under 100% load).
Anything higher & it's not 100% stable...I reckon that you should be able to squeeze 4.3Ghz out of her at least (ie a 100-200Mhz increase over mine)...
BTW, my chips under the Vapo reports -9c Celsius idle, 13c Celsius under 100% load, while my ChillControl reports temps at -31c Celsius...
Not bad for a chips that was having a hard time doing more than 250fsb with the stock cooler...I CBF setting up my WC for it so haven't got any comparisons ....
A good improvement over my last 2.6c, 400Mhz more:D
Give her heaps til she bleeds:D :D :D
Good chips these 3.0Ghz SL6WU's, glad I ended up getting it instead of a 2.8E or 3.2c...
Cheers,

SRY, i jsut asked him where he bought it, that aint any importance to others anyway. but i know, its english here...
thx for info Minnyboy, urs acts almost exactly to mine.
i just jacked up the vcore to 1.675 (like urs), and pushed it to this so far: (still havn't tried higher than this, i'll jack it up some more tonight) this has been priming for almost 2 hours now and ill let it go through the day and jack it to the MAX later ;)

thats cool man;). But why not over 1.675V? they can go up to 1.75V stock cooler:rolleyes:......
im just testing it ...seeing how far it will go at each vcore.
any1 know what the highest safe vcore wud be on my MACH II? for NW.

I think up to 1.85V is very safe for a CPU at -20C

OMG! what happened to that poor, innocent, standalone? it looks beaten up, and scarred! it needs a new home, your too abusive! Im sorry sir, im am forced to take your standalone from you because of excessive mental, and physical abuse. ;) see you in court. :)
by the way guys, can you give some good batch numbers for a 3.2?

I'm hoping that too ...4.15 @ 1.675 vcore failed prime after just over 3 hours ...so i jacked the vcore upto 1.725v and seems happy so far, think i need a droop mod (MBM shows it touching 1.58v sometimes under load  ) not the best, but still great chip i think, especially for the price (sold my old 2.4c for 150 euro and got this for 200 euro, with an increase of a 800 mhz - and climbing)

If under load its 1.6V I wonder why it failed after 3 hours rpime:rolleyes:
well its officially stable at 275 fsb @ 1.725vcore, will bang it up later again.

I think he means Take a good look at it. Looks like it had been road hard and put away wet  You have tape and stuff on it, hehe. BTW what the hell is the white stuff on the condensor? For the most part it looks like most of my stuff. I love duct tape and I am all about performance not Prettiness :D
Oki, i got a little problem.
I can OC to 276 FSB with this 3.0c ...100% stable ...but then 1 FSB after that, it simply won't go any further ...and surprise surprise ...this is the EXACT FSB my 2.4c bummed out on ...i hardly doubt its the limit of my 3.0c, since it seems to run 100% find at 276 FSB, but 1 FSB more, and it won't even get into windows (acts exactly like my 2.4c did).
whats my limitation !?!? pls help :(

Have you tried 5:4 and 3:2?
If you are stuck at the same spot I say its the RAM.

a5h, same problem I'm having with mine...:(
Goes up to 278fsb, no probs but 1fsb higher & I get to the windows loading screen & it reboots....Sometime doesn't even get that far....
Not my ram either...my mem does 250fsb 1/1 dual channel & although it craps out sooner using 5/4, I haven't taken my mem to it's limits yet...
Might be a physical limit of our chips...whereas others have a higher limit...I hope not...
Gonna get meself a Mach II GT or Vapo LS when it becomes available in AUS...I'm thinking Vapo LS as the AUS importer of Mach II has gone bust:( , & will try again then to see if it's my cooling or my chip that's limiting me...
Oh well, I'm happy with my OC so far...Maybe a 3.4Ghz is the way to go to get further than that....
im running 5:4 using 3-4-4-8 timmings, meaning they are running ~ 220 ...when they can do 255 at those timmings easily.
i think its my board, since i chipped the chipset a while back, plus with stock chipset cooler ...my 2.4c didn't go above 3.0Ghz, but with my watercooling it on the chipset it got 3.3 Ghz (276 FSB).
I'll try the 3:2 divider, otherwise i'll have to swollow it, since i can't be bothered getting a new board.
goodluck Minnyboy!
no cooling upgrades for me for a while :p: since i picked up a 21.3" TFT Iiyama H540S-B screen the other day ...and cost be a couple thousand haha. just can't resist its looks :slobber:

Now that you've brought it up, I'm having second thoughts atm..
New Samsung 172x 17inch LCD is looking very good...12ms response time:slobber: :slobber:
Can also save over AUD$1000 is I just get my Vapo Classic regassed with R404, should be able to cool better than my current Vapo PE after that....
Plus I really wanna wait til I see some reults from thedude & bowman's reviews of both Vapo LS & Mach II GT units...
I'm pretty happy with 4Ghz POWER anyways...
Cheers & Good Luck with your rig...I'll be trying again after "burning" it in for a while...
Minnyboy:toast:
This 21.3" TFT has 20ms response, which is still oki for games, but use it mostly as my TV too so :D
I've heard Vapo's might find it hard to start up or something with R404/R507 gas, since their compressor is smaller, but u'll have to do some research on that. GT, looks sweet tho :D

You wont see a review by TheDude on the Vapo LS, TheDude said he will only do a review on MACHII GT(He just got the first MACHIIGT in the world;)).
And a5h: Im sure its your mobo.....

you said it 12ms response time :slobber:

Mach 2 GT. Ooohh. I'm gettin excited!!!
Oki, i've hit a new top stable OC at 4.2 Ghz 280 FSB  ...i dunno how i got it, but its 100% stable at that now. Guess the limitation was the CPU before, and all the none-stop burn-in lovin has made it OC further ...do i feel 4.3 Ghz comin? :D
http://server6.uploadit.org/files/selffers-4.2at1.8new.jpg
notice how low the voltage is ...this shot was taken while priming, and the vcore drops to this (from 1.8v in BIOs) when i turn prime off it jumps up to 1.86v again in CPU-Z.

The Vapochill LS has a more powerful R404/507 compressor where the Mach II GT is using a smaller R134 compressor with R404/507 gas...
We will have to wait and see which one performs better.

We will have to wait and see which one performs better. he was discussing regassing his Vapochill classic i think ...
anyways... as far as OC'ing this 3.0c goes ...it passed prime all night at 280 fsb (when my room is cold) ...i stopped it in the morning, to check mail etc... then started prime again ...then i go to school, and when i come home, i see its failed just after 2 hours of prime  i did a restart ...and not even a post, wud not get into windows even anymore ...and everything is as it was before ...max FSB 276. So i've offically told myself its a mobo limitation ...and that it simply likes the cold :( o well. makes me think whether the chip can do much better on another board tho

Just in case you have not tried this: up your AGP voltage to 1.7 or 1.8 set the lock to 72/36. Chipset gets volts there. I have found that this will let me squeeze a little more outa my P4C. It can't hurt to try it. Let me know if you already did it or if it changes anything.

Where do you get those ideas from?
Vapo LS Specs (Danfoss FR8.5CL):
Displacement: 7.95cm³
Motor Size: 275W
Refridgerant: R404a
Mach 2 GT specs (Danfoss NF9FX):
Displacement: 8.35cm³
Motor Size: 340W
Refridgerant: R404a
Mach2 GT has larger displacement, more powerful motor, same refridgerant and optimized captube. If we only look the specs, Mach2 GT would be more effective, but there are other matters that have influence to cooling power. Mach2 GT can be equal or better to Vapo LS, but definately not weaker.
Time (or bowman1964) will tell :D
